@K-L

I meant to say that we all are dying to figure out the new AmigaOne X1000, but most of you already have an Amiga. I don't have at the moment, so yes. That's why it's frustrating for me. I have to be patient..

And nothing is wrong really. I am very happy for what they have managed to do so far, and it's very impressive. I'm just too excited that i want to see and know more.

And X1000 is just the one for me. No doubt. It has the hardware specifications i have long been looking for in an Amiga...

@HammerD

Thank you so much, my master. You have taught me everything you knew

Nothing is wrong really. I'm not really upset or anything.
Although, i might feel a bit worried now and then, because i know this computer is going to be expensive, but worth the prices..

I just wished there was something to see for the moment while waiting.

AmigaOne X1000 Process Edvidences Needed...
Not too shy to talk
Not too shy to talk

I would like to point out that many of us from the Amiga community are now saving a lot of money we can for the new AmigaOne X1000-hardware, and the wait is driving us crazy and a bit frustrated, though..

No doubt that the alliance between Hyperion Entertainment CVBA and A-EON Technology CVBA is
real and the process of bringing the most advanced
incarnation of AmigaOS 4.1 ever to the X1000-hardware
is going very well. We all know that, and that is great.

Still, it would have helped to see edvidences of the new
AmigaOne X1000-hardware in action somehow, and how it looks like, how many various models there will be of the X1000 machine, setup, spesifications and prices...

Then we also need to know where we will be able to buy this computer...

So i hope that the companies behind this great project can show us some amazing stuffs really soon now, and bring more real information around this hardware...

We are really dying to know, and to wait!

Thank you for the attention..

Helgis

I guess that 1500 Euro is around 10-11.000 NOK, if some of you know?

You might probably be right about that. Yet, it remains to be seen..

Still saving anyway.

@vidarh

I like your idea, but the name of that port is not Zorro, but Xorro. They should not be mixed. Xorro is the port that gives access to Xena, opens up even support for the XCore-features.

@trixie

High on Amigaism yes, but not on drugs

But seriously, just imagine the possibility..

I do understand this right? The Dual-Core PPC CPU
and that Xena, the XMOS co-processor itself is
Quad-Core? Wouldn't that be Hexa-core (6 cores)
if AmigaOS will be able to support both?

@Antique

Don't worry about it. You are doing just fine. Check out the features of Update 1 of AmigaOS 4.1, especially the updated MiniGL. I believe it should be possible...

If you know what to do, then good luck with the project. It should be fun.

Knowing that AmigaOne X1000 will have the "Xena" customisable XMOS co-processor, it should be worth
mentioned that "Xena" itself is a quad-core co-processor..

In addition to the Dual-core PowerPC CPU that is to be used, it should be possible to program AmigaOS to use the Xena's quad-core architecture, completing the AmigaOne X1000's abillity to use a hexa-core system, being one of the FIRST systems in the world to provide a 6 Core Multi-processing support!

How does that sound, people?

Re: BlobWars: Blob And Conquer

@Antique

Found them here...

Requirements

Screen Resolution : Minimum 800 x 600 (up to 1280 x 1024 supported)
Processor : Unknown
Color Depth : 24 bit
Harddrive : 40 MB
Graphics : Hardware Accelerated 3D
Texture Memory : Unknown (Tested on ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 - 128MB)
Controls : Keyboard and Mouse / Joystick*
* - A dual analog stick joypad (eg - PS2 Dual Shock) is highly recommended

SDL
SDL Image
SDL Mixer
SDL TTF *
ZLib
OpenGL

* - Freetype is required by SDL TTF

My guess is that the game was made on either a Mac or a PC. It should be fairly possible to port it to AmigaOS 4.1. Not sure about the OpenGL, but then again there is still MiniGL for AmigaOS 4.1 Update 1

BlobWars: Blob And Conquer
Not too shy to talk
Not too shy to talk

I just checked that it was back in 2004 that the game BlobWars made it first apperance to the AmigaOS4 platform and that it has just been updated once...

Still this plattform game is excellent, and i guess it works very well with AmigaOS 4.1 Update 1..

However, there seems to be an Episode 2 of the game, simply called BlobWars: Blob And Conquer, and seems
to be based more in 3D rather than 2D...

Could it be possible to port this to AmigaOS 4.1?

Here is the link: BlobWars: Blob And Conquer

AmigaOne X1000 Bundles Suggestions
Not too shy to talk
Not too shy to talk

Now that AmigaOne X1000 is on the way, as a complete full computer system, i think it would be nice to set up a suggestion of different "bundles" or "setups" of this
new High-End PowerPC platform with various of price classes...

My suggestions would go somerwhere like this:

AmigaOne X1000 1.2Ghz Computer Bundle: Midi-Tower
-------------------------------------------------------
1.2Ghz Dual-Core PowerISA PPC CPU
2GB DDR2-SDRAM memory
500GB SATA-harddrive
ATI Radeon HD graphic card (one of the cheapest ones)
Latest AmigaOS 4.x fully pre-installed w/applications

If the buyer wants an additional sound card or more memory/harddrive space, then the buyer can add that to the buy list..

Such a system could come into a spesific AmigaOne X1000 Midi-Tower bundle with the X1000 and Boing Ball logos..

AmigaOne X1000 1.6Ghz Computer Bundle: Midi-Tower
-------------------------------------------------------
1.6Ghz Dual-Core PowerISA PPC CPU
2GB DDR2-SDRAM memory
500GB SATA-harddrive
ATI Radeon HD-graphic card (one of the cheapest ones)
Latest AmigaOS 4.x fully pre-installed with applications

This should also be adjustable by the buyer to have, say, 4GB memory, 1TB SATA-harddrive, more powerful ATI Radeon HD-graphic card and perhaps an additional
audio card, in conjuction with the onboard 7.1 HD Audio.

AmigaOne X1000 2Ghz Monster Computer Bundle:
----------------------------------------------------------------
2Ghz Dual-Core PowerISA PPC CPU
4GB DDR2-SDRAM memory
1TB SATA-harddrive
ATI Radeon HD (one of the latest, most powerful ones!)
Latest AmigaOS 4.x fully pre-installed w/applications

This should come in a Maxi-Tower

The possibilities are incredible!

AmigaOne X1000 2.5Ghz Monster Bundle 2:
-------------------------------------------------------
2.5Ghz Dual-Core PowerISA PPC CPU
8GB DDR2-SDRAM memory (can choose more or less)
2TB SATA harddrive
ATI Radeon HD (the most powerful one)
Latest AmigaOS 4.x fully pre-installed w/applications

Should also appear in a Maxi-Tower, accountable price

The price of these setups need to be accountable..

Well, what do you think?
