Re: AmiNetRadio and July 2007 update

@SZAMAN

I can confirm the same problem with Aminet radio with the July update to OS4.0 final. I've just spent a couple of hours trying to track the problem before spotting your post!

ANR pre July update works fine, post July update gives the error you described,

Re: OS3.1 disk set for A4000T

@HammerD

Thanks for the response. I have a set of disks that were supplied with the A4000T but they had obviously been stored in a damp place as the disk surfaces are covered in mould. As you know three of the disks are the standard OS3.1 release but the other three (Install, Workbench and Extras) are specific to the A4000T.

As I have a set of disks, albeit faulty, and an A4000T I'm not too sure if there is a problem copying disks? Just a thought.

OS3.1 disk set for A4000T - SOLVED

Not too shy to talk

Hi, I'm trying to track down a set of OS3.1 disks for my Amiga 4000T. I've got 8 original sets of the standard OS3.1 release but the disk set for the A4000T had a number of changes to the Install, Workbench and Extras disk.

Can anyone help or point me in the right direction. Many thanks

Interesting thread. I'm pleased you managed to solve the problem. I'm just surprised how many problems can be related to a bad battery!

@Mikey_C

I can understand your angst but I don't see why you can't enjoy your Amiga fix and other computers/platforms at the same time.

I use Windows and have been investigating various Linux distros. I might even succumb to buying an Apple PC but I still will use Classic and PPC Amiga's.

Keep the faith,

I've just made another small donation to the Amigans website. I know this issue has been raised before but would it be possible to change the percentage funds received to reflect what the actual monthly (or annual?) funds target is rather than the ubiquitous percentage?

Commodore used to sponsor Chelsea Footbal club in England and the Amiga name appeared on their shirts.

My wife and I were watching a DVD of the 3rd series of "Between the Lines" a British political TV drama set in the 1990's. The main character was setting up a new office and had a Commodore A4000 box open on the table and a Commodore Monitor on the desk. My wife could not quite appreciate my excitement of seeing my beloved Amiga on a mainstream TV show of the day. After that I started to realise that all the monitors used in the show were Commodore models. Ah happy days.

@Chris

Yes I'm using cards bought from AmigaKit in my MicroA1 and A1-XE. Originally the cards did not work in the Micr A1 but the uodated prism drivers solved that particular problem.

Just downloaded the Ubuntu distro and I am impressed. This is my first linux experience ever. Let's see what I can do with AmiKit under such an environment.

I am posting this using Xubuntu on an Efika Unfortunately the Efika is really too underpowered for the Xubuntu installation.

However I have been playing around with several linux distros (on a Laptop PC) and am particularly impressed with Xandros. I have also tried several Linux Live CD distros also. (Knoppix, DSL, and Elive). They all have good features, particularly the bundled software applications which we Amigan's can only dream of ATM, but I can't help feeling a little constricted and controlled by the Linux OS?

Yes Rudei, but we can always dream!

What else has kept the dwindling Amiga community loyal 13 years after the demise of Commodore?

Just downloaded the new version. Keep up the good work.

Now all we need is a version to auto boot under a light version of Linux.

@shoe

I was going to suggest the same thing. I had similar problems with a couple of CSPPC & CVPPC set-ups. Only a clean install solved the problem with both systems.

Good luck.
