Did you spend rather too much of your time crashing while trying to dock at Lave?

Did you curse the Newtonian physics as you once more failed to slow down in time and ended up deeply embedded in a planet?

Do you have spare cash?

Then you may be interested in Elite Dangerous on Kickstater.

And to be absolutely honest if Hyperion/A-Eon and AmigaKit want to make some serious money backwards-compatibility should be at the bottom of the pile.

If they want to make serious money, the Amiga market isn't the place to do it.

Sounds like a pleasant British Summer day to me

Lets get things into context, the VCF was always going to be attended by 'fanboys', geeks and old-farts masturbating over a Intellivision running Doom in glorious 2-colour.

I wonder why the Amiga community is so small when it has such a welcoming attitude.

Well I dropped into the show for my first Amiga fix for quite some time. Very much enjoyed viewing Amiga OS4 in the flesh for the first time and oggled the new hardware. To be honest I could only justify the cheaper of the two and that's not very likely either.

I got ambushed by the Acorn crew and under torture admitted I still had an Electron in the loft.

Anyway, it was very good to see the Amiga past, present and future in one place and congrats to all those whose hard work made it possible. Hopefully, the VCF will be an annual affair.

Hope to be there. Long time since I went to a (partially) Amiga show.

So your contribution to "An open discussion on where we go from here" is to say: "Go away."

Bye.

My contribution is to ask for some realism.

What was that?

3D images, genlocking , video editing, creating artwork in HAM mode.

Your avatar seems kind of out of place now. Thanks for the input.

The avatar is quite fitting. It comes from the time when the Amiga was at the forefront of innovation, not scrabbling at the back of the pack trying to catch up.

I still wish the Amiga community well, but I just don't think it's a viable platform to point new users towards.

Well as a one time Amiga supporter I have to say that I can see no reason now to invest any more of my income or time in the Amiga community.

When I first bought my A500 it enabled me to do thing that I could not with any other platform. Now it seems that using the Amiga means you can not do things that are available to users of Windows, OS X and Linux.

Eventually I have decide to use the head and not the heart. The time of the Amiga has come and gone.

That's not luck, that's careful planning.

Two weeks eh. I wonder what it can be? Wait a minute ... isn't 'two more weeks' a euphamism for never in Amigaland?

I sure I remember Amiga Inc saying they were not a hardware company. .

Still, to me the point is moot. I can not go to a dealer and order a system that will run Amiga OS 4. Until that happy day is reached, I am disinterested with the continual infighting that bedevils the Amiga market.

Tucked away somewhere I'm sure I still have some Fred Fish disks. Iconic good guys (and girls) are growing rarer in Amiga circles. Sadly missed.

1987 I think. Psygnosis and their Brataccas demo have a lot to answer for, turning the head of a young Spectrum user.
