@Raziel

Hi,

Yep, I still have the same trouble as you on startup.

The frustraiting thing is that it is th ONLY program that I use that crashes in startup.

Ciao,
Trev Daley.

I have it reproduceable now, maybe you would like to take a look?

I have everything installed as per readme.

The first time (after a reboot) i start OWB (regardless if shell or icon)
it crashes with the aforementioned (by TiredofLife and Hans) crash.

Right after the GR window has popped up i start OWB again and NOW it
starts, without problems, without crashes, without recoverable alerts!

After a reboot, everything is back to "normal" - read, it crashes

I don't know the inner workings of OWB, but i suspect OWB tries to read
something which is created on startup (but not yet available) and
crashes.
The second start CAN read this "something" (because it was created on
start of the first instance) and starts up normally (maybe only some
little bugger in env?)

Could you give me an idea on where to look next?

Hi,

I can confirm the above, until doing the above I would get a ISI crash everytime I ram OWB. This would be even before the GUI would show up.

I have all the need fonts (even completely rebuilding my fonts directory.

I have 4 crash logs if anyone would like me to send them.

It appears there may be a problem with the ?newlib.library.kmod?.

Trev Daley.

@joerg

Doh! I should have known that (now I feel stupid), that fixed the problem.

I guess that I just assumed that if it worked in FFS it would work in SFS, being a superior file system.

Oh well.

Many thanks,
Trev Daley.

HD shows as full when quick formated`(Solved)

Hi Guys,

I have a 160Gb HD of the following specs....

sii0680ide.device
PATA

I am trying to set it up and format it with Media Toolbox in OS4.0, I am using 512 block size, 5000 buffers and sfs\00. All goes fine setting it up until I try to format it, when I get the message that the drive is full (quick or normal format).

I can format it OK with FFS.

Any hints would be appreciated.

Ciao,
Trev Daley.

@joerg

Hi,

Great work, 1.277 solves the problem with FryingPan and I have again successfully burnt a DVD.

I can?t praise yourself and Tomasz enough for the great programs and the better than anyone else support.

@joerg

Hi,

Firstly, sorry for my long post, would you believe I couldn?t find the author?s E-Mail address so here was the next best thing.

I already sent the crash log to Tomasz and his quick reply was for me to give him the E-Mail address of SFS?s author, I will point him in the direction of this list.

Many thanks all.

Hi.

I get GRs? with them (with July update), so far only with a couple of modules.

I first get a recoverable error but as soon as I hit ignore I get a ISI error with the BlankerEngine.

I have CrashLogs if they are of any help, just PM or E-Mail me and I?ll send them. Well after my Long Weekend away.

Ciao,
Trev Daley.

Try...

Preferences, Settings..., HTML, JavaScript, under Error reporting turn off ?Display error requesters?.

EDIT: Hmm, sorry just tried after I replied, that doesn?t work. You could try asking on the IBrowse mailing list at Yahoo Groups.

Ok, I opened up MediaToolbox, klicked on sii3114 and all that shows up is my HD.

Back in the old days all I would have to do is load CD0 into a text editor and change the Device and unit number. I am at a lost of what to do next. The DVD burner works fine under Vista.

Looks like getting a sii3112 board!

Hi Guys,

I purchased a 3114 card sometime ago and it has worked fine with my SATA HD, I just cant boot from it (Please release the latest UBoot).

Oh, I do have to set it as a HD and not Auto other wise it?s not recognised.

I have just tried to put in a LG DVD burner and no matter what I do it is not seen by the OS, no CD0: shows up at all. Any help appreciated.

I am wondering if I should just get a 3112 card instead, I can get one for under AUS$50.

Hi,

That was burning the downloadable ISOs.

But, someone stated that FryingPan couldn't burn "bootable disks" that would boot from early startup.

But, you can boot from these CDs even if you have a clean HD. Therefore the "kickstart" and "slb" are being read from the CD.

I'm talking about a CD that will boot from UBoot not from kickstart

UBoot will find a CD with AMIGA BOOT id then try to load the SLB from the CD so that it can then load kickstart etc.

No SLB, No boot

Hi,

I have made all of my OS4 CDs using FryingPan and all the ones that could boot did boot ok.

@Raziel

Cheers,

Thanks for the reply, yeah things are very fast. I just dont like being able to drag windows off screen.

But, I dont wont to have to turn off screen dragging.

Looks like I will follow the advice about GUI PREFS.

Hi Guys/Gals,

Just another one of those silly questions.

With update4 I was able to move windows around Workbench and other screens and there was a definate stop at the screens edge before you dragged it off screen.

This seems to have disappeared with the final update, or am I missing something?

Ciao,
Trev Daley.
