Re: Cannot copy back large files to USB stick

I forgot to mention that I'm using USB via a card reader, so that's possibly the problem. I connected my stick straight to one of the USB hubs from behind and everything seems to work as normal.

It's a Kingston DataTraveller 4GB USB stick.

Will try with another Stick, as it seems that either Copy from shell worked. I left it for over 3 hours copying but nothing at all.

@xenic

Surprisingly it works on my WinXP at work. Will try via the C:Copy at night to see what will happen.

I'm using DOpus copy facility. It just pops up with a message that my USB0: volume either is full or has a read/write error etc. Didn't try with Shell though.

Cannot copy back large files to USB stick

I had some very large files in my previous windoze system, so I had to copy them to my USB stick and then to my X1000 computer. Everything went fine without any problems.

The problem is when I tried yesterday to copy those very large files back to my USB stick, simply it can't.

USB stick is being formatted previously under WinXP with FAT32 file system, but I re-formatted it again under X1000 using the format option from the Workbench, but again, it refuses to write very large files (almost 1GB each one).

Any ideas why is this happening? Just to say that I can write smaller files without any problem.

You're using Paula a custom hardware with its hardware registers, so yes it uses the chip memory.

I've tried in the past to write 68k code under WinUAE or EUAE, but it's not the best. Better to write machine language programming in real classic hardware.

I agree, it's better to have everything in OS4Depot also.

I really like the new update delivery. It's become some sort of an exciting game, checking for updates (and quite often finding some)! Maybe a small thing for some but for me, AmigaOS4 has definitely received a fun-factor boost.

+1!

Please, no more spoilers about new updates...

Actually suxx for me. Registration needs a facebook/twitter/linkenid account, which I will never have, or send an sms from my mobile phone (yeah sure), and what if I haven't any?
