Great news however I am still waiting patiently for 4.2 with all this great Gallium 3D promised, without it TW will continue to crawl.

Hello, I am one of a select few given responsibility at managing the AmigaOS Facebook page.

I have but one question - have you LIKED the AmigaOS Facebook yet?

The only niggle, ands its only a niggle, the Workbench menu item is 'Update software...' yet when AmiUpdate is run it still expects you to hit the Scan button manually. Ideally whenever AmiUpdate is run from the Workbench it should immediately begin scanning rather than prompt the user to do what they always intended to do anyway.

Rather than a sister FB page it would be more beneficial to have one fb page and have multiple admins, e.g Atari admin, Amiga admin etc etc

Went to the VCF in June 2010 was a great day out at Bletchley Park, might wanna table myself actually - showcase my AmigaOne 500.

Depends where its taking place, anywhere in the Midlands would be perfect.

Hi Dandy,

I have structured the code to work theoretically with Classic Amiga and WarpOS, however I have no hardware to test it on so unfortunately I cannot test the executable - or the installation script for that matter. The installation script was written closely with the AROS version in mind and asking questions and receiving answers from the community.

Guess work on my behalf and educated guess work from the community.

Sorry, I know that doesn't help your situation.

Re: AmiWest 2012 News?

I am sure it doesn't need pointing out as most of us know this - but always good to remind ourselves.

The majority of computer users these days are consumers, consuming media content online, when it comes to productivity they might use Word/Excel/Paint etc... with limited knowledge of how to make the most of them.

A running common office suite (which LibreOffice most certainly is) for word processing, spreadsheets, database and drawing tools combined with a well-known web browser in this case Mozilla (call it what you will) will satisfy most user's needs regards of the OS underneath as long as its fast, stable, modern, familiar and meets their general requirements.

As stated previously there is lots to do to make this happen - but you have to start somewhere.

PS. For me personally, network support is also important and there is much scope for improvement in this particular area as well, for other people it might be for example printer support.

I use OpenOffice at work and swear by it... am I more or less correct in thinking that Libre Office is a successor to OpenOffice (because development of OpenOffice has slowed right down)?

No problem, got chatting with someone in the same office block as me about Amigas, said he'd love to own a A1200 again, so I told him all about my AmigaOne 500 in my office, of course I told him about AmigaKit

I realise my opinion counts for nothing around here but id rather new features were given more priority rather than dedicating time fixing 'bugs' for users turning stuff off that there is no reason to turn off - composition and non-blocking menus being two of those.
