Hi All, I had best inform anyone who may be thinking of attending our forthcoming meeting this weekend. Sunday 9th of December 2012 This weekend is our christmas meeting and we are planning a food and games fest. Starting off we will be having a xmas meal at our usual venue, this will primarily consist of Pizza, but other stuff may be delivered This will be followed by our traditional gaming session, which could comprise of anything from worms to skidmarks, sensible golf or anything that is multiplayer. So, if you are intending to come this weekend, you are more than welcome but please bring some money with you to order food or else you may just have to sit there and watch us explode!!! All information regarding Amiga North Thames usergroup can be found at our website http://www.amiganorththames.co.ukCheers

Best regards,

I don't know the answer to that, I just re-posted what the press release was from the actual show organisers. When I have further information, I will post it back on Amigans :)

No He doesn't - Sadly. Am afraid, that barring a miracle, the chances of the Netbook making an appearence is very slim. I'm afraid I cannot say why, but alas, it looks like its going to be a loooooooooooooonggggg while (if ever)

As a software developer (on AW.net who has his own customers to worry about) said, what really hurts users/customers is not understanding why things take longer than promised, and that tends to cause them to become frustrated & assume the worst.
The best thing Hyperion/etc could do is keep users informed about when & why a project is suddenly taking a lot longer than expected. No need to go into great detail, just a sentence or two to explain the basic issue. Even if it was just "we underestimated the complexity of the project, so it is taking longer than expected".
I agree. Its frustrating, especially the headline made were "Hyperion announces Amiga Netbook for mid-2012 commercial release" I understand things slip, but just an occassional update as you say, would stop the bitching.

I wish the netbook project was further advanced as it is right now, but you are putting too much hope into that. I personally don't think that a netbook will be able to draw a lot of people back into the Amiga market.
In any case, though, you shouldn't make assumptions about the reasons for delays. They might be different from what you think, and this way, you will only start more rumors.
Whilst I appreciate this may be considered a small sample, please look at the following links outside the Amiga community which regarding the news last year about the Netbook... http://forum.micromart.co.uk/Topic443639.aspxhttp://oldschoolgameblog.com/2011/10/ ... -4-you-better-believe-it/http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=61555There are others if you are willing to wade through search engines, but I honestly believe that pitched at the right price, the Amiga Netbook could bring a lot more users back to the Amiga Platform. I would say, an Amiga Netbook with, say, Libre Office, Timberwolf and a couple of Hyperion's games like Freespace and possibly Quake II or maybe Heretic 2 would certainly make people take a look at it. Or perhaps my comments are just too rose tinted ??

I must say how disappointed I feel at the lack of news regarding the Netbook.
We need to get more people back into the AmigaOS platform and at the projected price, the Amiga Netbook would bring people back.
Sadly, it seems that there either isn't the will or most likely, the finance to bring the project to fruition.

Glad to hear you got it up and running Salass00. As a fellow MicroA1 owner, they aren't that plentiful, so its nice to see another one is still hanging on out there
