[solved] Stuck again (In Shadow of Time)
Just can't stay away
Just can't stay away

Hopelessly stuck again.

Anyone know how to get the lottery ticket out of the drain? I have all the other items on the shopping list except for the connector for which I need to win the lottery.

I have tried everything I can think of to get the ticket out of the drain.

@Menthos

Ranger as suggested above should work.

Your latest crashlog shows a damaged stack cookie which could indicate a stack overflow, also the stack pointer is out of bounds which definitely means a stack overflow.

Not sure why you're getting these kinds of problems but I'm not. Just to check I tried the tutorial a few hours ago and played through it without any problems.

If it does show that Wesnoth doesn't use the stack set on the icon try setting the icon to Start From: Workbench instead of Shell. If that doesn't work open a CLI and set the stack using the stack command and then run Wesnoth from the CLI.

Have found and fixed the path bug and submitted a patch to patches.wesnoth.org. As I expected the problem was with an extra slash in the path string.

I have doubled the stack in the icon (20xxxxxx) and still have the same problem.
Should I increase it somewhere else too?

You are running it from the icon, right? In that case it should be enough. If you're running from command line you need to use the stack command.

I can create a new crashlog with increased stack if you want?

Sure. Won't hurt at least.

One thing I didn't find out in time to add to the readme:

If maps don't show in the "Load Map" requester (in the editor) then just click ".." an then "maps" and they will show. I suspect this has something to do with the '/' at the end of the path.

Definitely sounds like a stack overflow to me. Try increasing the stack on Wesnoth.

I have it set to 10485760 here, which works OK for me.

Wesnoth map editor

Just can't stay away

Have uploaded an OS4 build of the Wesnoth map editor to OS4Depot.

Actually this was just lying around on my harddrive from when I did the Wesnoth 1.2 build. Was going to test it out before uploading it, then completely of forgot about it until now.

Anyway It's up for download now and it works and is very easy to use too.

@Mikey_C

It already supports fullscreen. Just go into options and enable it.

[edit]

Some interesting "debug" output:

Datadir: data/supertux
Warning: Could not open joystick -1.
The Simple DirectMedia error that occured was:
There are 5 joysticks available

AFAIK I have only 1 joystick connected. Maybe a problem with the SDL it uses.

@xeron

DPaint 5 works very well now on OS4. Gradients still do not work though (everything just gets cleared to the background colour).

Thanks for the reply, yeah things are very fast. I just dont like being able to drag windows off screen.

If you don't want to be able to drag windows offscreen at all you can disable offscreen dragging completely by unchecking a checkbox on the same prefs page.

Just edit the screen edges resistance in GUI Prefs under "Controls". I have it set to 1 here. 0 means no resistance.

Base datatype classes in OS4
Just can't stay away
Just can't stay away

Already posted on utilitybase
Quote:

My animation datatype works correctly when I use RGBFB_CLUT P96 bitmaps with 256-colour colormaps, but when I try to use RGBFB_R8G8B8 with ADTA_Depth set to 24 and no colormaps (set to NULL) it displays nothing and crashes when I press play in Multiview.

Does this mean that animation.datatype doesn't support true-color but only colourmapped chunky or planar?

Also tried RGBFB_A8R8G8B8 with ADTA_Depth of 32 with same results...

Can anyone confirm that this is the case? I.e. that animation.datatype doesn't support hi/truecolor graphics.

Also is anything being done to improve the base datatype classes?

F.e. add truecolor support to animation.datatype or add 16-bit and maybe also 32-bit support to sound.datatype?

@Swoop

In WBStartup. If you put it in Utilities/Commodities it will not be run on startup and will therefore not do anything unless you run it manually.

@PEB

The link's still there. It's to the right of the SFS1 download link. There's even a OS3.x/68k version (IIRC that wasn't there before).

What makes you think that?

FFS still doesn't support files >4 GB and neither does SFS1.

At 24 now. Don't think I need help anymore.

@Murakami

I don't think you're meant to be able to take that gun.

[edit]

At 32 now and going up. All I needed to do was "Operate" and then "Examine" the TV twice. I'd only tried "Listen" with the TV on before...

How to win on the "chewing-gum slot-machine" at the mall? Or if that's not possible how to get the lottery ticket from under the drain?

So far the only item on the shopping list I've managed to get is the batteries. I also have a bowling ball, a skipping rope, some old coins and other junk I don't know what to do with.

Also I cannot get anything from the store (newspaper and dog food) because of the old lady.

It seems I am hopelessly stuck.
