Installed Qt from OS4depot, but getting an error message:
Failed to load shared object libssl.so.1.0.0
as timberwolf also uses shared objects, it (still) works.

@nbache implemented comment functionallity , text from #?.cmnt will always be written into EXIF Header... (well jpg commentfilds do actually not belong to EXIF Header). regards Gero

@Wanderer Well I won't forget, but I also need the "none Interpolation" option as well. However the guy complaining was logged in as anonymous, and I guess that is the guy always complaining about iBatch. He probably didn't even test the image quality (just a guess though...)

Quote: I also use JHead to insert an EXIF comment with my copyright etc. Will your JHead capsule also handle the comment? Maybe using the .cmnt files? Good Point ! At the moment it cannot, sorry. I guess I put this one high up on my todo for the next release, and yes using the lines from #?.cmnt file is the best solution. About Pixelsize: - transfering a header from original pic to a downscaled pic via jhead does not recalculate pixelsize (to my knowledge... but if I am not "lazy"/come across I will check that one) - In case original header is not available (e.g. choose an empty sourcedir inside capsule), it will look for a file called exifinfo.txt, this one holds size of rescaled image in pixels. Problem is to my knowledge, that there is no jhead command in order to write new pixels into new header. If it would, it could be done. regards Gero

News on Plugins / CapsulesO.k. folks, this is a good one: Lot of imageupload proggies / image organizer do use EXIF infos from jpg header. When resizing jpg this information gets lost (in iBatch as well as in many other software). Here is the solution: This one tries to either transfer the EXIF Header from original jpg, or create a new header including an embedded thumbnail ! However, sorry to say, this is basically just a GUI for jhead CLI proggy. Said that, you can of course use this one as standalone solution if you want. Using it in conjunction with iBatch plugin it will show its full power, as it can also use Infos stored in certain textfiles created by iBatch. As this is actually just a GUI, I did not call it plugin, I rather call it capsule This software is also in late Betastage..... more capsules to come ! regards Gero

News on iBatch V 1.2As most of you guys know, Version 1.2 is available via Aminet or iBatch website. It had been positively reviewed and considered as "must have" in Amiga Future Issue #90. To be honest, I am feeling very proud. News on Addslideshow PluginIt has never been so easy to create a slideshow !!!! At the moment I am considering it as late Beta and nearly ready for release, but release depends on some other things as well, so no releasedate yet.... Addslideshow plugin (see above) makes a given directory "slideshow capeable". It adds a slideshowplayer or slideviewer executable, some wallpapers and navigation buttons towards a given imagedirectory. This Plugin can also be used as STANDALONE and comes with heaps of wallpapers and buttons in different resolutions: Slideviewer Window: Different wallpapers: Different Buttons: All Buttons and Wallpapers are "Puplic Domain" which means in this case, that the different licences allow you to redistribute your slideshow incl. wallpapers and buttons and use the generated slideshow for commercial projects.

@Amigo1 maybe I am wrong, but if you connect your HD to a router, then it will be handled as some sort of "Network Share" or "FTP mount".... ? Or Am I wrong ? If so, you need Samba or FTPmount on AmigaOS, but once again maybe you have got another config ? I never tried to configure a USB-(external)HD with ext2, I only did a partition of my internal one. This is my mountlist:
/* ** DosDriver automatically created by GiggleDisk ** ** GiggleDisk (c)2005 Guido Mersmann ** */
FileSystem = L:EXT2FileSystem
Device = sii3114ide.device
Unit = 0 BlockSize = 512
Surfaces = 3
SectorsPerBlock = 1
BlocksPerTrack = 16
Reserved = 2
PreAlloc = 0
Interleave = 0
MaxTransfer = 0x7FFFFFFF
Mask = 0xFFFFFFFE
LowCyl = 3301389
HighCyl = 3472179
Buffers = 600 BufMemType = 1 StackSize = 16384

@corto, @broadblues, @ellwood
Is there any progress ? Even though if actual roadmap will be fully out of sync ? Or is it silently sort of stopped ?
Anybody knows something ? (Please mark as "rumour" if you donnot not know for sure)

Quote: The listviews are from GadTools, optimised for 3.0 Can't really remember, we already discussed that ages ago. If I recall correctly, I had to problems/dislikes: 1) The listview did not have columns (which was a GadTools limitation, wasn't it ?), resulting incorrect alignments of mp3tag information... if you donnot use topaz font as standard. Donnot know wether you already implemented a option to use topaz font anyway, even if your systems uses another default font. 2) There was a problem with mp3 filenames, or was it a problem with certain mp3tags which where created by addripper, cannot remember. But most of my mp3 could not be loaded into database. However, your jukebox proggy is probably great for 3.0 (that was your goal wasn't it ?), but enhancements for OS3.9 / 4.x would be great, as this one will not be such an "overkill" as AMC for my SAM440 and A1200 Systems. However, your work is great, and I really appreciate it. greetings Gero

looks good, and, yes a lot of fun... this is mine: A1k.org -geographs jukeboxI am using OS 3.9... in conjunction with "ADRipper" to convert CD into MP3. This gave me some problems with your software (ages ago, though). I am still hoping for an advanced version of your software for OS 3.9 and up. I remember e.g. the listviews were optimized for OS 1.x wasn't it. greetings gerograph

Quote: Have no resources for making an OS4-promoting web because you are too busy doing "more important stuff"? Good. I know there are people who would just die for being asked for help! Guys like imagodespira or djnick could knock off a web that looks way better than Hyperion's own web, in no time and just for the fun of it. As trixie said, it might be lack of resources... but 1) bringing up old AOS 4.0 website just takes a couple of minutes 2) All sort of marketing help can be provided by different people here and there. I think it is not the problem. If you do something marketing/PR-wise you got to do it 120%. Right timing, good presentation, clear images and language are very important. if it isn't 120%, donnot go for it ! Making your marketing better, MUST result in more revenueThe old site is not uptodate anymore, and it is not just about replacing 4.0 with 4.1. For example the "scaling capabilities of OS4" targeted on mobile devices is totally outdated,.... (as far as my limited knowlegde goes) A good example was the X1000 riddle, it was really good but the timing was somehow not perfect, it may have been better not to put that one up (by the time), even though it was not intended as marketing/PR thing. Hope they have something even more appealing for release of X1000 ? Maybe it is not the right time yet for doing marketing/PR ? greetings Gero

GPL License - usage of Icons under GPL in own project ?

Hello everybody,
maybe somebody can give me a fast hint, as I am not really willing to study the whole GPL und LGPL stuff..... I found Icons on the net with GPL and LGPL license by filtering "free for commercial use" on different icon search engines.
My software generates slideshows and those icons should be used insede the slideshow. The software will be distributed and the generated slideshow may be redistributed for free...
Can I use those Icons ? Do I have to include GPL/LGPL Licence text ? Do I have to state something inside the readme ?
thanx Gero

@OldAmigan Great! And yes, I still need a PPC Betatester. As Samurei_Crow is on x86 MAC, I havn't tested the PPC executables yet. Theoretically, they shouldn't be different. But you never know. Currently Samurei_Crow reported all modules working, I just have to remove debug code and compile them, I will then also compile a PPC Version and adjust the Amiga "Addslideshow" proggy, as MAC PPC button is still grayed out. You might be in for the weekend I'll send you the modules/players via mail ! Thanx + greetings Gero

@Ellwood
I would even pay for that:
usb2.0 fixes in cross-dos (to avoid corrupted sticks and files) better printing support, especially a color correction on PS Printers...
some people may argue that at least cross-dos should be free of charge as it is a bugfix (more or less). And USB 2.0 should be free of charge, because it should have been supported from the start, because SAMs have USB 2.0 Hardware.... (like Deneb USB card coming without Poseidon USB 2.0 Support). But I dnnot care I would still pay...
