It would be nice if personalpaint had a windowed interface rather than full screen.

It's a good topic with good ideas but there's no need to be shitty to each other. Can't you have a conversation without being so aggressive and rude to everyone?

Ideally OS4 would have a virtual screen mode driver that actually opens a window on a public screen and does some kind of picture in picture magic so that older apps that insist on opening a screen, and insist in opening a PAL screen for example can actually be used in a window on a HD screen.

Since SObjs aren't shared why even bother to use instead os static link? Or write wrappers to turn them into proper .library ?

One trick you can use with git is to access your sgit folder from a different (non Amiga) machine, to execute commands sgit does not support

I recently did this to execute the 'remote' command to link my repo to github. Then one can push, pull and commit as usual.

Also I wonder if anyone has tried to build git under AmiCygnix so it could at least be run from there.

There are some pure python implementations of git too.

That's great that you can build it from unmodified sources. Big achievement. Surely you must have a config file you've modified, or does it even work with the autoconfig correctly?

We have assembled collaborators to maintain python2 and python3 for all 4 amigoid platforms with goal of common code base. It will be great if you can collaborate.

You mention new newlib, is that another one of those things os4 devs clique has had for years that mere muggles are not blessed with?

Anyone using a Mini PCIE to PCIE adapter in a sam 460ex?

As per the title. Is anyone here using a Mini PCIE card in the PCIE slot with an adapter?

Specifically, I'm interested in using a wifi card with atheros5000 chipset and while there seem to be no PCIE cards with this chip, there are laptop Mini PCIExpress cards with it. And there are adapters for sale for mini PCIE to PCIE including ones designed for wifi cards with antenna contacts.

I have the full size 3COM card that works with Neil's atheron5000 driver, but I'm keen to use the PCIE slot for wifi instead as there's nothing else useful to put there.

For your second question, do any of those old 'ROOT:' fake filesystems work on OS4? That would solve that for you.

@kas1e

I wasn't arguing that we need MS Office specifically or that we need full featured enterprise office apps. Not really sure what it is you're trying to argue about with me.
