@walkero

How did you do the following:

/msg root account add discord <discordemail> <disordpass>

What did you used instead of the root?

Re: Do People Still Use IRC?

Hi @rjd324,

I've had exactly the same issue with Wookie as you did and managed to solve this. Version of Wookie I was running was 2.11 from the OS4Depot, but after some digging, I found beta version here:

https://wookiechat.amigaworld.de/

Just follow the link to DL beta Wookie_OS4_2_12b15.lha and you should be good after that. I had to do the clean install: deleted the old drawer, installed new 2.11 and then copied files from the beta archive into this drawer. Connected right away!

I hope this helps!

Managed to make Wookie to work b/c I've seen your post on Discord that AmIRC will not work, but still an issue with /msg root help: [Error] root :No such nick/channel.

I see I need to register my password with my nick with the channel, not sure how to do it?

HI @walkero

Going over the steps from the link you provided and used irc.amigans.net, channel #amigans, is that the server/channel you used to connect? Because WookieChat did not work for me (exactly the same issues as rjd324 had in his thread Do People Still Use IRC), I use AmIRC and trying to do the step 2 (/msg root help) but that errored out with root: No such nick/channel. My guess is that you were using different server/channel, is that correct?

Thanks!

Re: Porting Augustus (Caesar 3) to AmigaOS4

Thank you @SinanSam460. I am currently at Lugdunum (finishing), 6th mission, half way through the peaceful campaign. I don't have anything else to report, game plays as expected and I did not find any other issues. Well, it crashed 4 times so far and it was very random so I can't pinpoint nor reproduce b/c it will not crash at the same spot after reloading the save. It might be something else. I've noticed, in the window that opens with the game (is it debugging window, IDK?) that game will complain that Health Assets could not be found, but did not notice any GFX corruption or anything missing. I can't thank you enough for this port release, I really appreciate it sir!

Re: Porting Augustus (Caesar 3) to AmigaOS4

The more I play, more pointer issues I am experiencing. Nothing which will prevent me to stop playing, it's just a nuisance. Moving map with RMB and releasing will place pointer to the right bottom corner, instead of to the center of where I end up dragging the map. Right clicking on building/person/terrain will produce box and move pointer to the right bottom of the info box. As ddni reported, clicking on the right command menu (where you build utilities buildings) will cause drop down menu not to be in the center and aligned with the icons.
Still, like I said, those are not a show stopping issues and I am at the 3rd city of the campaign, Capua. Most irritating is the shovel pointer being way off the center.

I hate to ask, but is there a way to fix this and if anyone tried MorphOS version, is it acting the same?

Thanks!

@SinanSam460

Runs great on X5000, even recognized my save files from Linux (played natively with Augustus with Steam's download) and I did not see significant slowdown on a really large map and super large city. I used Steam's version and did not have any problems to run.

I found a bug, unless it is only me who is experiencing this:

Shovel (demolish) is off the centre of the pointer, maybe 2 blocks up and one left, all other items with similar function looks good so far. That means bulding houses is not off, placing roads is good, not off, placing them will be right where the pointer is. Pointer on the menues is not off.

This appears not to be a bug:
I can't zoom out far, it appears I can zoom to 1:1 of the original game. On Linux I could zoom out far, almost to the point to see the whole large city and review the outlook of it and it's progress. Have this been disabled? I can zoom in thou. Is there option in ini where I can enable this?

I can share some save games if anyone wants to see how large scale city will perform on their machine.

Thank you again for porting Augustus!

Re: ImageFX and grab screen

Not too shy to talk

@walkero

Hi Walkero,

I bought ImageFX from the AMIStore and tried it on my machine, X5000. It did not work out of the box, I got bored with that and uninstalled it. Tried one more time but did not have the patience to fix it and uninstalled it again. By the look, it does not appear to be AOS 4.1 program, but rather 3.1. I can't remember what the issue was, maybe the installation was broken and the paths did not work meaning the opening of the program was giving errors.

I know you want to use ImageFX to grab the screen print of your Workbench, just want to say that I use SnapIt and it works like a charm.

Cheers!

@SinanSam460

You sir are a rock star! Caesar 3 is my fav city building/management game, and I was always hoping someone will look into Augustus and port it to AOS 4.1. Thank you! Gameplay of Augustus is awesome, bugs fixed, improvements to the original game added. I've completed Augustus, both military and economic missions last year, but I am ready for a new campaign!

Thanks for reply, I'll have to look after work. I did not do much digging around the problem, very busy lately with everything. I was under the impression that game data files are included within archive from MorphOS storage, and if not, I'll report back here.

Last tower defence game I played was Defence Grid and had a great time with it. Bought MACE Tower Defence couple of weeks ago and tried it out today: I love it! It looked like my type of the game and I was not wrong, thanks EntwicklerX duo, don't stop doing what you do best!

@VooDoo

I didn't try subtitles before your post but got curious and tested it. In the drawer I have two files:

movie.mp4
movie.srt

Added SubtitleFont and FontSizeBase in tooltypes and it is not working. Tried DejaVu Sans.font and Vera.ttf with no luck.

I did not see mention in the readme file what kind of subtitles is supported, but would expect to support srt.

@SinanSam460

Thank you so much for porting over C&C, much appreciated! Please check your PM!

Want to report a bug: Started a game as NOD and after completing the first mission, in-game pop up advised that scenario is missing. The game files are from OS4Depot, data files from MorphOS site (per instructions) and game executable was with audio.

Let me know if you need any other info from me.
