I got it!, finally it works for me! I changed to - vo sdl and now it works

Glad it's working for you! You might try -vo comp as well. I think I read it is supposed to work as well. It might preform a little better than -vo sdl, although sdl seems to be working pretty well on our systems in more recent times. If you run into audio sync problems you can also try the -ao sdl (ao=sdl) and it might help. The sdl audio driver seems to work pretty well too. Note, you can use -ao sdl with -vo comp. The video and audio drivers are independent.

By the way, you can experiment with different video and audio driver combinations with Mplayer-GUI. Look at the "Output" setting under the Video and Audio tabs

I'd suggest you use the dismount to deactivate it when you specifically don't want it. I'm sure there are scripts and even programs that use the appdir feature to find and execute external applications. These might fail if appdir is disabled.

Today I have working only sound but no picture (shell and Mplayer GUI) no more DSI errors. Also, I am using last Mplayer GUI v1.61 and config file with vo=comp_yu2 option in mplayer config drawer

Souind playing and no video is a usual symptom of not using a compatable vo option. I assume "vo=comp_yu2" is a typo here. It should be "vo=comp_yuv2".
Are you using a Radeon RX graphics card? If so, I thought I might have read that the "comp_yuv2" option doesn't work on that card. (I could be wrong though.).
Did you try using "vo=comp" or "vo=sdl"?

If you uses these optons on the command line don't use the "=" sign. (ie. -vo sdl).

Other than this, I'm not sure why you are having issues. I don't get the error you are discribing when using Mplayer GUI, version 1.61. I'm using a Radeon HD card.

2. You can use ffplay or Emotion to play the audio stream. This can be configured in the script that is described in MediaVault archive. If you need more help on that please let me know

Or you can use this script which allows you to choose a player or save to a file via a requester after clicking play.

Raving about Rave

Just wanted to drop a note and say how much I apprciate the recently released Rave sound editor.

I've have taken up learning to play piano via an online learning program "Pianote" and as a result I have a need to record my piano playing for review. I find myself using Rave to tidy up the start and end of the recordings. Don't tell anyone but I also used it one time to cheat and attenuate one very small spot where I didn't quite hit the cord right.

Anyway, Rave is working really well and I am really looking forward to the day when the Undo and Recording feature are added. Then I can do it all on my Amiga X1000.

I made a small donation to say thanks to Trixie and encourage continued development. I encourage others to do so as well.

Would value any comments about this before I go poking around in my X1000.

I read about the hack. I think before I go hacking my X1000 I'll buy the software from AmigaKit to get hardware video playback on my Radeon HD card. So far I've been satified with the 3D permance of my ASUS 2G Radeon HD 7550 card. I say this even having already purchased an RX card which was targeted to go in a Tabor when they became available.

Which is latest working mplayer version for os4.1 and where I can download it?

The two best versions of MPlayer for your X5000 reside on OS4Depot.

LiveForIt MPlayer
Mickjt Mplayer

You will need to use the -vo option on the command line or change it in the config file to choose the proper video driver. (ie. -vo comp_yuv2 for your X5000)

Here is a link to a copy of my config file. Download, rename to config and replace the one that is in the conf directory where Mplayer resides. I've included comments on each setting to give a clue as to what each entry does. Remove the # at the start of the line to enable the option and set it as desired.

Any chance of anybody modifying MPlayer to take advantage of the new va.library and video acceleration?

I'm willing to throw some funds and testing at it.
LiveForIt?
Mickjt?

I own and like DVPlayer and Emotion but MPlayer has a lot of capabilities they don't.

RadeonHD v3 doesnt support Video Acceleration.
A lot more development was done then adding GART and many other fixes and the result is the RadeonHD V5 driver. This is on sale now as a retail box item and a digital download in the coming week:

Thanks for the reply. I'm a little suprised that I have to pay for the VA library after purchasing DVPlayer with the promise of accelerated video but then I'm also suprised that I didn't have to pay for the Enhancer 2.2 upgrade with all the nice improvements so that's a wash.

I do wish there was a download only version of the driver, even if it was only discounted by the materials cost of the DVD and the shipping cost. While I appreciate that you went through the trouble of creating a DVD, it just becomes another item sitting around the house and typically becomes useless after updates to the software.

Having said all that, I do appreciate all the great work being done on enhancer and am certianly willing to pay to support it. I think we have gotten a lot of value for the money, especially on such a small market system, so I'm not complainging about having to pay.

Keep up the good work!

RadeonHD_drv_video Library v1.11

Great that this is finally released as well as the whole enhancer update.
Thanks for all the hard work!

Do we need an updated version of DVPlayer in order to take advantage of this new video library?

I have an X1000 with a Radeon HD 7550 and it appears that graphics card hardware is not being used. I'm running DVPlayer version 54.9.

My discovery for today is the https://invidious.io. This is open source software with a lot of servers running already, which use YouTube API to give you access to videos without the tracking and the ads. You can even run your instance if you want.

Thanks for the tip. The sites work quite nicely in Odyssey and the videos play very nice on my A1000 at 720p in full screen mode. The nice thing is there are lot's of sorting options and you can choose the default resolution to play. Quite nice!

Oh ya, aiostreams is working quite nicely as well. Thanks.

I've used A-FTP-Server on my X1000 for years with my android device. It's not a secure server but I don't think there is really much risk within my home network. I only start it when I want to upload/download to my Andriod phone.

Version 1.2 of the Rave audio editor is available from os4depot.net.

Download and tried out the requester. Love it!

One small suggestion. I noticed if you turn on Auto Play and select a sample it plays as expected. While it is playing, if I then turn Auto Play off, then select a different sample the previous sample still plays. It might be nice to stop playing, either when Auto Play is turned off, or when another sample is selected after Auto Play is turned off. Small issue as I can always hit stop but I think it would be more of what a user would expect so you don't have a sample, other than the one that is selected playing.
