folks,
i'm looking for photos from members who have attended amiwest in years past; specifically any and all you would be willing to share or have published. in 2017 will be the twentieth amiwest show, and i'll really like to have a terrific collection of photos (or even videos) as part of the show.
if you can help, or can point me to someone who can, please let me know, either in this thread or via PM. thanks!

@saimo
thanks for another update to a terrific game!
@amigakit
thanks for getting the update available tonight. i actually bought both BOH and huenison twice -- once via saimo's online options at the time, and again once they were available on amistore -- so i could ensure i have access to updates to his games. they're among the best in terms of gameplay and originality on any platform, and one of the reasons i love my amiga NG so much.

@mritter0
no, you cannot have a single screen span more than one display. and while the X1000 does support multiple displays, it's not just the OS but the firmware that also needs to support more than one display card.

@ChrisH
LOL! it's a fair point. i suppose making a step-by-step guide might be useful for the rpi option; but i find the easiest thing is just to use a supported printer. between the built-in postscript driver, turboprint, the third-party photosmart driver (for PCL), and lpr.device, there are loads of choices out there.
the only instance where the rpi+CUPS+IPP solution was necessary was with a particular IBM infoprint beast we have at the office.

@Severin
it's not that hard. you start a CUPS server on the rpi, set it up for the printer connected, note the IP address of the rpi, and use the postscript workbench driver in conjunction with ipp.device and voila!

@Elwood great question. it's something that's typically decided at compile-time. as a result most operating systems, like linux, will support different ABIs, one big-endian (ppc64) and one little-endian (ppc64le/ppc64el). for most application developers, it's fairly transparent, unless you're writing device drivers, filesystems, low-level OS components, that sort of thing where byte-order makes a difference. things are a little more complicated with vector-data, so there are APIs people can use to ease the transition. if you're looking for more detailed information, you might want to read through the current ELF V2 ABI describing ppc64le ( link) and/or the current ISA specification ( link). -- eliyahu

@tlosm Quote: I dont think will be simple have AmigaOs on Power8 or Power9... because this cpu are Little Endian... It means all the software in Os4 depot,aminet and somewere will be need to be rebuild ad endianess fixed. neither POWER8 nor POWER9 are little-endian. they are bi-endian. IBM continues to support LE in a big way due to the demands of the commodity, scale-out server market, which, having been dominated by x64 for so long, makes LE support necessary. but that in no way means that these chips are exclusively LE, nor does it mean that IBM has any interest in the POWER ISA migrating to LE exclusively at some remote point in the future. -- eliyahu

@trixie Quote: I've always wondered whether the few decade-old apps or games are worth the effort needed to put into emulating or re-implementing WarpOS. it's worth it for me. i'd pay a few bucks for it, actually. on slower systems having the ability to run fxpaint and perfectpaint WOS binaries really helps with usability through increased performance. no idea about WOS games, but the few productivity titles that ran on WOS are pretty good. it'd be nice to see them running again on my X5K without using 68K emulation. -- eliyahu
