Wow!
I'm impressed. The windows part of the installation was silky smooth - it automatically found my AmigaForever files. Then the Amiga part of the installation kicked in.... WOW! installed like a dream and gave me the best Amiga desktop ever! The only heart stopper was when it asked for a license key - then I realised this was for DOPUS - Doh!
Well, what can I say - quality, quality, quality!
I have friend out west - he is something of a celebrity (to say the least) - I will be installing this Amigakit on his Peecee - I already told him about this site - he told me this afternoon he thought it was swell.
Anyway - this is far out! Hell - I answered my own topic here! I'm off exporing Amikit.

I think it looks just fine.
I have looked at the other banners and I think it should stay the way it is.
The existing banners lend the site a touch of class whereas the new banners look a little gawdy, IMHO.

@Mothman
Accelerators slide on a lot easier without the standard A1200 casing. I remember having to remove parts of inside of the cover in order to refit it with the first 030 which I think was probably a Viper 1230 MK2.
My Blizzard 1260 suffers slightly from the ZX80 ram pack wobbles in my A1200 Tower. If it isn't titled towards the rear side of the motherboard I get a black screen like you describe.
Perhaps the trapdoor cover is pushing the card upwards slightly or did you leave it off anyway. If there seems to be any play in the card try make sure it is angled down slithtly.

can we have a "reply and quote" button, please? or let the reply button quote all as a default? unfortunately none of the editor buttons work with ibrowse have a look at e.g. os4welt.de. that forum uses a framwork which also works with ibrowse quite well. thanks and byebye...

It would be useful to have some new ASL tags for a file format selector. Trying to save (and sometimes load, but that is less of a problem) on various programs that support multiple formats is very inconsistent. I'd like to see the ASL requester have the option for a cycle gadget that allows you to select the format to save in (or load, for dumb formats that can't be auto-detected easily)

Quote: some of the button graphics look "strange". (and other stuff)
1. look at the "reply" and the "report" buttons below this message. the reply button has a nice shadow below it. the reply button shadow looks (very) slightly different. also the colors look a little bit different. i have the impression, that the color depth differs. "reply" looks better.
2. the bigger buttons (reply, new topic, online, offline, ...) have a strange red bar below them. they also have a real shadow. but what is that "red bar" supposed to be? i don't like the look of them.
"report button" is better now. but i still wonder what this "red bar" on the right of the buttons (or below the bigger buttons) is standing for? it is not a shadow but what is it? maybe i have to use firefox to see the sense of it? i'm just curious! byebye...

I saw Amigakit here on this site and am downloading it now.
I intend to install it to run with my Amiga Forever 2006 - do I have to watch out for any problems?

Hmm, i'm not that familiar with A1200 mobos, with the A4k one has to change a jumper on the mobo, isn't that the case with an A1200?

Hi again =)
I removed the originally fitted memory expansion card so that the Amiga became "original". And connected the composite cable. And then suddenly after 2 restarts it suddenly worked again. But there was no picture from the rgb connection. Then I reconnected the memory expansion card and tada! everything worked fine?... I do wonder if something happend when I fitted the Accelerator card cause u need to push quite hard to get it in place. Anyway it works fine now and I know there's something wrong with the Accelerator card. There's no response from the Amiga when it's fitted. To bad... but I'm thrilled that it works again. Thank you all!!
(By the way the caps-lock only flashed once)

Great to see this is finally "out of the closet" now. I've already gotten a lot of help from a lot of great people on here, so I think I know where my new internet home will be. :)

Hi again!
Thank you all for your answer's and tips.
Then again I actually used an A500 powersupply and it was running fine. Until I plugged the accelerator card in. Before everything worked perfectly. I removed the accelerator card and reinstalled the memory expansion card that was fitted there originally (when everything worked fine). But now there's no disc activity and the screen is black. When I try to reboot CRTL+A+A the Caps lock lit's up for a second but the power light dosen't dim down as it usually do when u reboot. And the black screen dosen't even flicker.
I havent tried the Composit connection yet though. But the rgb connection worked fine as well before.
I turned on the computer for like 10 seconds with the accelerator card installed, the screen stayed black then I removed it and the screen stays black and there's no disc activity.
I tested my powersupply with my A600 and it worked fine.

Well, despite all of the advice to avoid the 040, I just won one on ebay for $132.50, including shipping: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... A:US:11&Item=270059626645It sounds like the card can take an 060 if I end up coming across one, so at least it has a bit of an upgrade path still. Anwyays, it looks like I'm coming along nicely so far with upgrading it!

Doesn't happen here in Ibrowse so hard to test. Does selecting "remember me" help at all?
I recently changed the site hostname from IP to real hostname so it might have to overwrite the old login cookie or something.
