@MichaelMerkel
Shift+Cursors is a windows thing. The Amiga standard is to hit Amiga+B to turn block marking on.

I don't know if CodeBench overrides it, but by default richeditor uses:
env:classes/gadgets/richeditor/default.kbd
for keybindings. Its a straightforward XML file, and you can define multiple bindings to one action. If you change it, remember to copy it to envarc: to make it permanent.
But as I said, I don't know if CodeBench uses this file or overrides it with interal bindings.

Just fixed that.

@madmonkey Quote: Another bug in the syntax highlighting - it doesn't handle escapes correctly. Try "\\" and #define wibble \
The define one is a fair point, i'll fix that. I can't see a problem with double escapes? "\" -> String not ended "\\" -> String ended "\\\" -> String not ended etc. etc. Seems to work here.

Theres not much wrong with richeditor.gadget. There were a few bugs caused by Rigo working on a gadget that he didn't write (which were ultimately my fault for not more thoroughly documenting the source code), but those are being fixed.
I've already fixed most of the ones mentioned in this thread.
The only major thing the gadget lacks, AFAIK, is folding, but A) CodeBench's quick links window makes folding less useful, and B) the gadget is designed so that i can add folding later without too much overhaul.

@madmonkey
Actually, it should undo the 1234 and leave you with the 1. If it undoes all the 11234 in a single operation, that is a bug.
Edit: No, thinking about it, what you describe is correct behaviour. EditPlus does the same, and i implimented undo to work more or less like EditPlus on windows since that is my favourite editor on other platforms.
The Eclipse IDE undoes the 1234 and leaves the 1.

Did a bit of work on richeditor.gadget this morning.
The cursor disappearing oddness is fixed.
The syntax highlighting bug you talk about simply doesn't happen here...

@Atheist Quote: Can't anyone relate to seeing all of the code LiveForIt wrote doing THE SAME as "Plot 159,99,9" as being strange, scary, and more than likely impossible to learn?
No. Because you don't learn it all in one go. You learn the basics and build up to it. Once you've learnt enough about C, and programming in general, you know what everything does and what it is there for. The problem is not your intelligence, it is your attitude. You see anything that is not AMOS and immediately go "OMG! Its all unnecessary crap! I can't learn this!". You're never going to, but only because of that attitude. Follow a C beginners guide, and don't move on from each step until you've understood the one you're on.

Umm... Hyperion DID update OS3.x, they updated it to version 4.1 so far. Thats the whole point.

You kick ass! Thanks for all your hard work. OWB on OS4 has gone from unusable slow proof of concept to a fast, pleasant to use, kick ass browser!

Oh my god. I posted a silly link in the "Free for all" section of the site. I think your reaction is way over the top.

Because the vast majority of visitors will just look at it on their PC/Mac/Linux box and laugh at the joke.
If you all you have is an Amiga in 2008, well, good luck to you. Lets hope OWB gets a Gnash based plugin, and that Gnash's video support improves. I wouldn't hold your breath, though.

After months of investigation, I have tracked down the real guy behind Amiga, Inc's business strategy. Here is a video clip of him detailing their business plan: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=72d_1229379765.

@Antique It is good that they are selling well, but they are counting rentals in their sales total. I'm pretty sure the Matrix DVD figure quoted for comparison is sales only, so its a bit of fudging the figures

I'll take this to email, probably tomorrow.
Edit: BTW, if you made an archive for me, but used Cranu to do it, you can save the profile and re-create the same archive again and again easily (and its easy to modify the profile with new files, or remove ones not needed any longer).

I was going to make the form gadget set look more like the default reaction ones, and maybe look into tabs. I'd need a way to build OWB to test those.

I guess santa wants you to stop working and relax over the festive period..
If people really want to leave this running while they work, i'll investigate improving the method it uses to render the flakes so that it works smoothly in the background. It was only a quick hack so i didn't bother researching the best way to do it...
