Re: OS4.1 Update 2 problems & solutions

Diskimage device still shows up in Media Toolbox, thought it was an easy fix, maybe forgotten? Was my understanding, that device was left off the imbedded skip list.

@all/devs

Is the "SetVar_Patch53" still valid or has this particular glitch been fixed with update 2 so i can get rid of the file?

The dos.library.kmod file was replaced with update 2, so I removed the patch.

had no problems at all installing both updates so far but with Update 2 my kick startup bar still says Update 1?....everything else is fine as Workbench says Update 2 but is this normal?

Thats normal, you can load Kickstart/Kicklayout into a text editor & change the label to 'LABEL AmigaOS4.1 Update 2' & save.

Neither SFS or JXFS will restore directories, they only store files & only 347 of them. The .recycle directory is for small "oops" only, not big "oops".

If he really does have uboot v0.1.1, it could be one of the old write protected chip & would need to be replaced anyway. No idea how to tell though.

@Antique

If it still leaks memory, there may be another problem setting that no one has discovered yet. Just turning on dragging solved my problem, but I have a micro.

@Antique

One of the first things I did was disable screen dragging on my micro after the update. Wasn't long after that I noticed something was eating my ram at times. I tracked it down to the RinghioServer & tracked it down to the GUI prefs setting. No memory problems with Ringhio running with TN or any other app after turning screen dragging on again. I just set the edge resistence to 9, which almost stops screen dragging from happening.

Was mean't to be a light hearted post, but you can see how fast Steve fixes bugs when reported to him, he doesn't search the forums for bugs in his programs. He's too busy coding OS5 on the X1000

Mr Raziel, Steven puts his email address in the Ranger documentation for a very good reason, to report bugs.

/me clubs Raxiel for ssolie...

Well , he knows now, but the point about emailing him bugs stands.

Version 1.45 uploaded.

I to would like to thank Bean for developing TuneNet.

I found a small bug in the 0.92.44 version. When playing a shoutcast station, the song info in ENV:TuneNet is only saved once for the first song. Any song info played after that never get written to ENV:.

Not a big deal, but doing /tunenet in wookiechat only shows the first song all the time, not the current song.
