Re: Problems setting up E-UAE on my A1-XE
Not too shy to talk
Not too shy to talk

@pseudaxos

Many thanks, I'll give it a go tomorrow.

UPDATE

Tried the .uaerc supplied but still get the same results. E-UAE seems to work but stalls at the gre amigados screen with the 1> cursor.

This is is the output from the EUAE window which seems to indicate all is OK. Am I missing some simple step? Any ideas anyone?
Thanks

TrevorD

Re: Linux Debian and Sam440EP

Not too shy to talk

@nubechecorre

I'm attempting to install Debian Lenny on my SAM-Flex using Elwood's install guide. I'm stuck at the setup networking section. The guide says select eth0:Ethernet but my network (card) in not detected and the eth0: is not shown in the list of cards?

What did you select at this stage to allow the installation to proceed?

Thanks

but would you like to use an hard file or a classic directory ?

Initially, I would like to use the Amiga Forever Classic directories: System and Work so I can try E-UAE out. As I mentioned previously I am able run E-UAE on my A1-XE off the AF2008 CD but would like to install it to my HDD.

Later, if I can get it working, I will try to integrate AmiKit or AIAB.

BUMP

Any chance of someone posting their .uaerc file so I can see if I'm doing anything wrong?

Problems setting up E-UAE on my A1-XE
Not too shy to talk
Not too shy to talk

I can run E-UAE with AmigaForever 2008 from the CD-ROM but can't seem to setup E-UAE to run from my HDD. I have copied the files from AF2008 plus the kickstart rom images and rom.key. I think have edited the .uaerc file correctly but when I run E-UAE all I get is the grey amiga DOS window.

Is there someting else I must do to make AF Files work in E-UAE?

Any help gratefully acceted.

@328gts

I'm glad you managed to get your SAM working OK with a little help from AmigaKit who IMHO always give excellent customer support.

Perhaps you should edit your thread title to include the words SOLVED.

Enjoy your SAM/OS4.1 experience.

@cygnusEd

Many thanks, that solved the problem. As you suspected I had an older version of sh installed in my SDK directory. I deleted this and copied the version from AmiCygnix. All now working fine.

Donation on the way!

AmiCygnix DSI's - SOLVED
Not too shy to talk
Not too shy to talk

I've had good success installing AmiCygnix on my A1-XE and Pegaso II in the past but I have only just tried to install it on my ?A1-C with 512MB RAM.

The installation of the base and tool files appeared to go well but when I try to start any application (eg Netsurf) I get a DSI. If I ignore the DSI the apllication starts up on the AmiCygnix screen. This happens with any application I select, even when I select AmiCygnix shutdown.

Is this a know problem with AmiCygnix on the ?A1-C or is it just finger trouble on my part?

Any help gratefully accepted.

I've also used ScummVM for quite some time and was also pleased to learn of its ability to play 7th Guest. Must give it a try when I get some time.

@Antique

Yes I still have a soft spot for IBrowse as it was the first graphical Amiga Browser I used.

I still use it quite often although I'm using OWB more for general web browsing. On PC's etc I use Firefox exclusively.

@BillE

Seems to be down again and I also get the following message:

"Dear Anonymous user your IP address xx.xxx.xx has been temporarily refused access to this site.
This can occur when a severe attack is under way.
Please try again in 10 minutes.
If you are a legitimate portal user impacted by the ban please contact us on IRC or via e-Mail for further instructions."

Is anyone else seeing this message?

UPDATE: It's back up again, phew!

@Troels

As you already know, fine by me also. I am really impressed with the rapid improvements that are being made to OWB. The speed has really improved. Just need download capability next. (Some people are never satisfied, did I hear you say ).
