Re: New screenmodes

Just popping in

Sorry to bring this up again, but I simply can't get this to work...

BOARDTYPE=Radeon
CMPLENGTH=6
(BORDERBLANK=Yes)
(BIGSPRITE=Yes)
(SOFTSPRITE=Yes)
(IGNOREMASK=Yes)
(DISPLAYCHAIN=Yes)
FAKENATIVEMODES=Yes
VSYNCMIN=56
VSYNCMAX=75
HSYNCMIN=30000
HSYNCMAX=83000
MODE=400x300@75
MODE=640x480@75
MODE=800x600@75
MODE=1024x768@75
MODE=1280x960@75
INTERRUPT=Yes

This tooltype only produces 640x480, 800x600 and 1024x768 - all at 60hz...

My monitor is a Acer AL1711, which according to the internet has these specs: 1280x1024@75 and a sync rate of v75 and h83...

Where did I go wrong? Really feel that I've tried it all...

It's really annoying when my minimac does 1280x960 at 75hz with no problem at all..

What I'm trying to say here is that ACK will only have the sources if that is required. Let's not start down the path of pointing at ACK as a thief or similar.

I have no intention of calling ACK - or anyone - a thief. He has been involved in OS4. Perhaps he already has the source and the porting process could be underway. Of course, on behalf of Amiga, inc. I don't know, but I can speculate as well.

And I didn't call him a thief. In fact, I said Amiga might have a strong case. It looks that way.

Hopefully this will all be resolved soon.

Having read all the material from Amiga now... It does seem like they have a good case. Perhaps we will see Hyperions statement in a few days.

Hopefully, this will be over quickly and we can all get on enjoying OS4. Bill has stated that he has a fine relationship with the Friedens so I see no reason that they can continue their work on the OS under Amiga, Inc...

Should they wish so...

@Mikey_C

Well, that's one way of looking at it.

I guess Amiga believes that they have payed for OS4 already (the buy-back) and that Hyperion should hand over the source code.

This was mentioned by Bill McEwen half a year ago and they obviously haven't found a solution yet.

For all we know Amiga could very well have the law on their side.

I guess ACK have the sources to OS4, will port it to the new board and launch Amiga's new hardware product along with OS4... It's certainly not impossible...

The more support for Tunenet the better. It's the only piece of music playing software I use on OS4...

@Androxyn

Yes, and I think that Amiga.org should have removed this information before posting.

In fact, it could very well be argue that they should not have posted it at all as this is clearly not a press release.

It is interesting though - a lot!

Re: Amiga user for the longest time?

I got my first Amiga 500 in 1990, I think... Just 512KB but I did get the 512 expansion a year later.

Then... in 1994 I spend most of my money from my confirmation party on a brand new desktop dynamite A1200 pack and an external disc drive.

Oh, and I also bought a guide to using Workbench 3.0 (a danish translation of a Bruce Smith book).

I never really used my A500 seriously but the A1200 changed everything... later it got the 1220, a harddrive, 1230, cd-rom, 603/040, 603/060... and then it got sold in 2001

Luckily I am back now with the AmigaONE...

Yeah, it sounds like a great program and it really should end up in the OS at some point...

So... what's the basic problem with this game. We do seem to be improving with each update. What is missing?

Oh yes, the magazine arrived some time ago. Probably between christmas and new year's eve, can't quite remember.

It's great issue! I really love those long interviews. It's very informative to read of those amazing developers' opinion - let's have more of those in the next issue.

You seem to know your way around games on OS4... How far away is Colonization from running? It's pretty system friendly...

New year resolution
Just popping in
Just popping in

As some may have noticed in another thread I have decided to buy or register at least one piece of software for my AmigaONE each month this year...

I cheated and started by renewing Total Amiga but now I need to decide.

I tried to make a list of software to buy, but I could really need some suggestions. I have bought AmiPhoto and Epistula some time ago, so they're off the list. It should be running perfectly on OS4 and in continued development.

So far I got:

Ibrowse 2.4
MUI3.9
DvPlayer
Tunenet donation

What would you suggest?
