@klesterjr
even better, I hope all these people are donating some funds to support further development. Hopefully this level of interest will generate renewed impetus in things Amiga. Only time will tell.

Hi all, I noticed today that Amikit has passed the 10,000 download milestone as of the 18/04/2008.

@agafaster
did you get one? have you got it running yet?
what configs, drivers are you using? I have one but it seems to clash with the 3com lan.
although Ranger sees it and reports it working but not set up.

@Monoxyde
dunno, I just thought it would grab the attention of any hard core dissatisfieds. My A1 xe is on 24/7, I would have done more to the effort had my CPU not fried a while back. I just felt that a third position would have been an excellent result for a non commercial hardware software setup, seems a shame to let it go wothout a fight.

@All

I agree that the project seems pointless now and also that there are newer and faster cpu's but since Christmas there seems to have been a sudden multiplication of the two top teams ans four other teams performances which cannot be explained by that alone. I think they have enrolled/ are collecting redundant teams members to bolster their flagging efforts. Cheating! that's wot it is.

@Mikey_C
we don't need depressing stuff m8 we have enough of that on AW. Hang in there, I reckon we have got ourselves a good community which is developing into a self contained product factory without the unecessary expense of a lot of employees who don't care about their product. You need to focus on the plusses and not get sucked into the mindless void that epitomises the followers of MS and Mac

@pvanni
I already have mass storage devices on my printer (HP Photosmart C3180) and with my combination floppy/ multicard reader. It would be nice to have the option of using olympus camera as webcam or just as cctv cam.
It may be that none of this is possible without USB2 but I can wish all the same

@abalaban
Why cant windows look for the driver like Amiga OS does?
surely this flies in the face of plug and play!
I really miss a usb HP Scanner driver and a decent olympus usb camera driver

@LyleHaze

shame that you have not enough time for a FTDI driver. I use garage diagnostic equipment with my Dell Laptop and winXP and this uses a USB serial interface with an FTDI driver. I would be especially interested if a driver existed for OS4 to be able to connect the diagnostic interface to my A1 and see what works. Mind you, I have noticed that the driver for windows is not very system friendly and keeps trying to reinstall itself depending which USB port I use.

@AmiGame
happened to me a couple of times. I don't think it is SimpleMail's fault. It is usually caused by a message that has been fetched and which contains maybe spyware or worse. I manually delete the offending message from the inbox folder before starting Simplemail after a fast reboot.

Re: Infitiv Tower power options...

@ghoolster
from what I can remember with my a1200 eyetech tower. you could just use the floppy drive power connector on the motherboard with a floppy connector from the psu.
However I did find that if the load is too great it tended to get rather warm. I would reccommend you cut the original A1200 psu connector lead so that you can plug in into the motherboard and connect the five wires to the tower PSU wiring. You will also have to short out 2 wires on the tower psu power supply to enable the psu to fire up when you switch the miggy on. This second solution means that all the circuits on th A1200 get powered correctly. Unfortunately I have passed on my A1200 and all the associated paperwork but others may be able to give more detail.

Re: MPlayer 1.0 RC2 - Leitmotiv Version

@Swoop

OK here goes
following script call it RunMplayer, save and put into C:

.key File/A
.bra {
.ket }

Stack 300000
OS4:Utilities/MPlayer/Mplayer >Nil: -quiet -msglevel all=-1 "{File}"

Assuming your Mplayer is in same directory as mine
then go into Prefs/deficons and select your AVI deficon
change the default tool to Sys:C/RunMplayer and change start from to `shell` and untick prompt
then save and reboot. clicking on an AVI file icon should then automagically startup.
repeat operation for other file deficons i.e mov,wmv,qt, etc. You may need to configure the file PATTERN in the Actions box since you will need to allow for upper and lower case file endings.
apologies for non technical rant to our more learned colleagues but we are just trying to get by.
