@Elwood

sadly if would seem that the new update results in graphics corruption on the sam440ep non flex instead

I would love too see this done so I don't need to use a linux box for developing php/mysql applications.

As I really like cubicIDE and OWB works rather nicely AMP support is all that is missing before I could use my sam440ep for real development work.

@ChrisH

I don't have a usb joystick or pad to connect so i cant test too see if your work around works at the moment and I am spending my toys budget for the next 2 months on the arm addon board for my minimig system too add hard drive emulation.

But after I have had my holiday I will maybe be able too buy a joypad and see if that helps (I am just planning to take my boat out for 2 weeks on loch lomond) but it still feels expensive when you are not being paid and have not had a pay check for 3 months. I should not complain as I still have a boat and can cycle to it from my parents were i am saying just now.

If someone writes a catweasel joystick driver before then I will test with a real Amiga joystick, but I just do not have the free cash at the moment to buy things I dont need.

I can post a crash log for rtgmaster if anyone is interested in tying to fix it, but I am more interested in playing old amiga games on my minimig at the moment than in my sam440 as long as tunenet keeps working on my sam440 so I can listen too my music while I play games, I know I could find a cheaper music player but I have come to really like tunenet under os4.

@nexus

You can work round the foundation gui issue under OS4.X by changing the theme temporarily to the default settings which make the title bars on windows smaller so all the gadgets fit.

I pay payback using the keyboard rather than with a joypad as I hate joypads and wont play anything that requires you to use one. Maybe thats the difference between our 2 setups.

@ChrisH
Yes I am using the latest update for payback but it still and the software 3d mode its just not stable under OS4.1 for me but as I said I don't think any classic software is.

I also have problems with Photogenics2, Photogenics4.0 and ImageFX4.5 crashing out on me but in the case of ImageFX4.5 that maybe an install issue as the installer dose not work under OS4 and no one on the mailing list seems to remember how to install it correctly manually.

@ChrisH

For me even the 68k version just crashes after a bit of playing time but too date I don't think I have any classic 68k or warpos software that runs with out crashing.

Night long plays for about 30 seconds after the video stops playing then the OS4 fixed version of rtgmaster crashes (http://www.os4depot.net/index.php?fun ... hics/rtgmaster-os4fix.lha) and takes the game with it and both the 68k and warp up version of payback ether crash out after a few minutes of playing.

wipeout also crashes after a few minutes of play I have been hoping for an updated graphics driver since getting my sam440 as that may fix some of the problems but so far there is no sine of an updated driver.

@abalaban

That fixed it. :)

As I don't have an SDK: assign I set it to Cygnix:CygnixPPC/bin/ the location of the only copy of ls I have installed.

I had tested ls previously myself when I tried to debug the problem from my work:temp folder but I wrongly thought if it worked from a shell prompt I did not need to specify a path.

Anyway thanks again for the help its very nice to be able to use ftp to copy files in both directions from my sam440.

My next Amiga network challenge will be to install and setup samba under OS4.1 I already have it running on my A1200 Tower under OS3.9 but I think I will leave that challenge for a wet weekend.

Re: Ftp server

@Antique

I use http://www.os4depot.net/index.php?fun ... twork/server/ftp/ftpd.lha

With my sam440 but I just cant get it to work properly with DOPUS9 for windows.

Copying files to my sam works fine but it always shows up a blank directory list so I cant copy files back.

If I do a list of the remote server using the built in windows ftp command line client it returns all the files sizes as zero so the problem could be related to that.

I have read and re-read the supplied documentation but I cant see what I am doing wrong so any suggestions on how to fix this would be welcome.

But if all you want to do is copy files to an AOS4 computer it works and is fast, just not user friendly.

@BillE

I am already really enjoying playing around with DU and I would be completely lost without the excellent online help system.

It more a case of when I first loaded DU I felt somewhat overwhelmed and I am sure that like many new users I would get even more out of DU with a more extended getting started guide an some tutorials.

In fact they are the sort of thing that use to work very well in Amiga print magazines and I would love to see a few tutorials for DU in Amiga Future and I am sure it would also help to generate a few more sales when other OS4 user see what they are missing.

How about:

1. Q. Wheel support works under MultiView and not in the help from inside DU is this a bug in DU.

A. No its a known issue with DU caused by a bug in OS4.X that needs to be fixed in OS4 to allow wheel mouse support to work with the programs internal help system using amiga guides.

1. Q. I have it installed and up and running and it looks very cool, but were do I start with using it the interface is a bit over whelming

A. take a look at this getting started tutorial see link

I know thats only 2 questions and only one has a real answer at this stage but I guess its a start and it may inspire other users to ask some questions as well.

With a bit of luck this release will restore the high level of stability found in previous releases with the added bounce of having working download support.

As I said it was a long time ago and I could have been wrong about the supplier but the website looks the same so your explanation fits.

Sorry for any distress caused I purchase something from you in 2005 as I still have the e-mail receipt but it dose not include any details of what I ordered and I also purchased nightlong and napalm about that time which were originals so it may have been then I purchased from you and someone else which a website thats looked similar that I had problems with.

Thanks for taking the time to clear things up as I may be intrested in purchasing more amiga games from you in the future now the issue has been cleared up.

edit: the order reference from the e-mail I still have is Ref No: 10588 if that is useful.

It can be found at http://www.os4depot.net/?function=sho ... io/play/amigaamp-full.lha

@Mikey_C

As I said it was many years ago, I was never charged for the hardware so it could have been worse.

But getting supplied Foundation on a CD-R was not a good thing but it was not expensive and I have been sold pirated software since then by another well known drop shipper so I am wary of drop shippers in general.

I don't know if anyone here has been burned by Butterfly media buy they sell pirated versions of lots of amiga games and other retro games through third parities see http://forums.scummvm.org/viewtopic.php?t=3443&highlight=media for more details.

But as I said I have only had one bad experience with ForeMatt (at least the website looks identical) which may have been a one off and it was 3 or more years ago.

I could not find that section but now I see it I would not order from them again I ordered a scandoubler and foundation from then a number of years ago I am still waiting on the scan doubler and foundation came on a cd-r with a badly printed cd cover and an unreadable cd.

I could just of had a bad order but as I reserved a pirated copy of foundation according to the author when I e-mailed him at the time and I am still waiting on the scan doubler/flicker fixer I would rather go with ebay.
