Don?t you think it?s easier to try to snoop inside data files of Simple Mail or YAM.

You should not need to do that.

Thanks in advance,

Try battery first.
Are you using wireless keyboard and mouse ?
Could be that the PS2 wireless receiver is going faulty.
If your not wireless it could be a broken wire.

Your keyboard and mouse cables havent got trapped by a desk or something and got damaged, or a sudden horizontal jerk to the rear of the amiga might have damaged the ps2 ports if the cables had no slack in them.

Way better then on AmigaOne, because you have custom chips and we do not.

You get PowerPC native drivers for all your hardware and you will get access to New PowerPC based programs that runs many times faster then on your old OS3.9, and because OS4.0 has minimal memory protection you should notice when dangers programs in your system, so you can avoid buggy programs that corrupts your system and crashes vital data.

I think you should not upgrade because of the 680x0 software, but because PowerPC software runs many times faster and more secure.
If develop software you should defiantly upgrade, the development tools in OS4 SDK is way better then OS3.9 NDK.

Well if no hardware is demonstrated whit OS4, then no hardware is demonstrated whit OS4, when they can show AmigaOS4 running on some new hardware then you buy it not before then, forget pre payments, in this market you get many broken promises, but some times dreams becomes reality.

But you can't do anything about it, because your A1 is in

So, it would be safe to just drop them?

OS4 vs OS3.9
Just popping in
Just popping in

Hello!

I am one of those who have a Classic Amiga with a PPC-board. According to Hyperion, AmigaOS4 is soon ready to be released for classic Amiga.

Is it worth upgrading to OS4? I am currently using OS3.9 / Kick3.1.

My PPC setup is 210mhz (i think) and I have 256 mb fastmem with Mediator and Voodoo3.

Classic amigas that uses the 680x0 processor have a huge amount of tools/utilities and programs downloadable from AmiNET. OS4 doesnt support 680x0 processors. How compatible will the "emulation" be with old 680x0 software (f.i. Kick 2.0 -> ).

Is it worth the trouble getting OS4 or should I wait until Amiga Inc. (or other developers) releases new hardware?

Gretings AmiGubbe.

Edit:

I am sorry, I wrote this in the wrong forum. Can someone move it to the correct place?

Internet playlist strange behaviour
Quite a regular
Quite a regular

Using the website Jamendo : site to legaly freely download music (Creative Commons), I often click on link to listen to album. i've configured AWeb to launch Tunenet for m3u playlists.
The link is supposed to let me listen to the whole album, however when I there, the playlist is opened and play starts.
*But* Tunenet won't switch to next track when the current is finished, it will stop here. Also using the 'next' button (one with symbol like >| ) it will jump to the *last* entry instead of the next.

Can someone explain me if i'm doing something wrong or if this is a bug in TuneNet ?

If you want to try, for example, connect to : Dawn From The Past : Secrets In My Head a french Rock band page on Jamendo, then click on "Listen to the entire album".

Actually, I'll never ever, ever, ever be able to be exclusive xp user. Why? It DOES NOT WORK!

Proof?

Turn off the swap file, then try to use it for a few hours.

For one, you won't be able to install ANY SW.... well, at least I wasn't able to install Everquest then,.... and, and, and IT WOULD NOT TELL ME WHY!!!!!!!!!!!

xp is PURE GARBAGE!

Another thing, with my anti-virus/firewall (McAfee commercial SW) program, when I disabled the internet (blocked all in/out going traffic) from it, the computer SLOWED TO A CRAWL! (Like it wasn't slow enough ALREADY!)

Hi Raziel,

What should I do? Since I started using AOS4.0 (pre-4) in about July this year, I haven't nearly at all (maybe 5 hours total) used the xp pc (2.26 GHz p4, 1 Gig ram, Ti4600 128 meg geforce 4) beside me.... Reasons for almost never using AOS4 before that? Complicated. Not even used the pc for gaming.... you see, I really, really, really, really hate xp (win), ONLY use it because of the games, and shockwave flash/java with the internet browsers. It just repulses me totally!!

One of the reasons I didn't use AOS4 was that I don't know how to set up a router to get both computers online at the same time. Currently, I have to unplug the ethernet cable from either computer, unplug the modem from the wall socket electricity (no on/off button), wait 30 seconds, plug back into electricity, then replug into other ethernet port. If I don't do it that way there is no way to get the other computer to connect to the internet. (Cablevision modem.)

Let me tell you, I LOVE AOS4.0; why? FREEDOM!!!!!!! to use it as I wish to!

I just copy an lha into ram, decompress, and in most cases just run the program then.... until xp can do that, not interested..... weeeelllll, it's not like that's it's ONLY flaw, now is it????

@yoodoo2

I know the list could be long (I should make a survey), which programs are needed RIGHT NOW ;).

I would say that:

Firefox and,
OpenOffice would give A LOT more live for ANY Amiga. Since we had a lot of "funny" programs which works VERY well.

And one think, this DON'T have to be Firefox and OpenOffice it self but who will write this kind of programs... nobody.

How many of you could BUY good web browser, office software? I think there are people who could easily BUY it. I would for like $150, BUT functionality should be good...

About my linuks I'm using PC... so I don't know you want to listen about my config? ;). My PC it's to new for Linux :(, after loading kernel (from CD), computer doesn't see the CD-rom any more :(... (nothing help... maybe you :)...

And this is good example what can you do with hardware when you don't have software NOTHING, even if it has 27000 MIPS ;). I so happy and grateful for people who create any (software and harware) for amiga...

I have no any idea about programing (no maybe BASIC ;) )... is it really soooo hard to write a good browser for amiga... (this is for me MAIN problem)... since when I would like to show Workbench (even on UAE) so people ask, what about www... and that I can show them... NOTHING (since Ibrowse, Voyager, AWeb... are basically DEAD... good that this forum is "supported" ;), and how long we spend browsing :D.

Today we use www for email, youtube, java games ;), forums, to shop, to order and pay for something
