@Spirantho
You can always comment out the usb lines in the kicklayout file and install posiedon.
I guess you can rule out power that way.
I use posiedon 3.8 here as the subway is not supported by the OS4 final CD.

@vk4akp Hi Welcome to Amigans.net I would have said www.amigakit.com however, their catweasel link on the front page links to product not found. Drop Matthew a line at AmigaKit he is very helpful and will probably let you know if the product is still in production or when he's getting stock. He has close ties with the designer / manufacturer. Vesalia.de are also out of stock. MKIII (Flipper) and MKIV do come up on ebay now and again also.

@TiredOfLife
The OS4 CD contains a fixed version of paula.audio (V4.33)
If paula.audio is overwritten by an older version other than the version on the OS4.0 CD, Then startup-sequence will appear to hang once soundplayer is opened, thats if playboot sound is checked in soundprefs and a sample is selected. What as actually happened is that the old version of paula.audio (<4.33) has crashed.
Either comment out soundplayer from the startup-sequence or fix the problem by replacing the AHI files from the CD.

@MamePPCA1
Some types of disks cannot be backed up:- They give read errors due to the protection methods on the CD, MakeCD will chew on these for Days and still not complete a backup image file. The way to get round this in MakeCD is to backup the CD on the fly but you need two CD drives for that.
Padding with Zeros can effect the outcome. At some point the blocks you padded with zeros will be loaded. It could be that your padding the Game.exe with zeros or just a game sample / texture etc.

@MamePPCA1
In Advanced Options I have:-
BaseDir Path_for_my_temp_files: Startblock Blank Cat Number Blank Writemode DAO DAO Format - Format of the Writer Audio CD Start 00:00 / 0
Then do an edit / append complete CD
Use Image File CDDA Immediatly Scan for indices - yes index pause 0 Read ISRCs - yes
Click appendCD
when its scanned the disc, click create image files. This will dump the Data and audio tracks onto your HD.
Then either click write tracks to burn it to a CD-R or come back later and use edit / append image files to load the ripped tracks back in.

@Mikey_C Its worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. So if he puts the cppc up alone for a ?700 and someone buys its for a ?700 then its worth ?700 to the person who bought it. It might be worth ?250 to you but all you are doing by putting a value on it, is putting ideas in peoples head of how much its worth to you and then this sets the bar. If people decide to sell their ppc boards for high prices, even more than what they paid for them, then good luck to them. It will either sell or it wont and then the seller can lower the asking price i guess. I guess its down to the seller to decide ultimatly what he thinks is a fair price to ask. Heck everybody could use a bit more cash especially this time of year. There is enough competition for them and the Highest bidder wins --edit-- typos

I dont think there is anything unappropriate with simply discussing someones signature, it would have been OT do discuss it in the thread in question, but unappropriate certainly not and has nothing to do with the topic of the original thread.

Whilst reading the news about Dave Morse here:- http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/v ... hp?topic_id=24706&forum=2I noticed this at the end of Carl's post. Quote: Carl Sassenrath Amiga Computer, Inc.
Is this another Amiga Company ? Is Carl Working for Amiga Now or on OS5 ? Anyone know anything about this division or company or was carl just saying he worked at Amiga once ?

Quote: How about other SCSI devices like flatbed scanners?
A SCSI flatbed scanner is archaic equipment. The typical computer user has an all-in-one printer/scanner with integrated USB card reader for less than 100 Euro. OS4 supports reading from USB cards, when you dont have USB equipment, you could use an IDE or PCMCIA card reader.
Agreed. However, If the A1200 user want to Scan using usb then dont they need to spend a quite a bit money ? I see at this:- ?93 for a Subway with poseidon 2.X (AmigaKit) + Shipping ?20 for Scanquix USB (Vesalia) + Shipping ?10 for a poseidon 3.X OEM keyfile upgrade Can you buy FXSCAN any more for the IOUSB scanner module ? I don't think you can. ?123 Euros + shipping before you begin to source a usb scanner. I imagine due to the age of scanquix usb it will have to come second hand from ebay as it only supports. Hewlett-Packard 2200C Epson Perfection 1250U/1250U-Photo Umax Astra 5400/5450 Recently I paid ?0.99 for a SCSI Epson GT7000 on ebay + a 40 minute drive to go and pick it up and use it with betascan off aminet. Lot cheaper. I guess you can get a combo scanner that scans to a usb stick / memory card. Epson RX6XX / RX7XX range spring to mind, then use a card reader like you said above. Still its a lot of money since the printer side of things may not even be supported by the 3.X / 4.0 amiga printer drivers or turboprint7 not to mention the scanner side of things.
