It is true. Just don't hold your breath. I'm *trying* to port it, but I still don't know if it will be feasible, or if my skills will be enough for the task. You can however bet I'll try my best :)

@BillE
First thing to check, have you deleted *all* of the .o clib2 objects before switching to newlib? The "assertion" problem might be caused by the fact that you are mixing objects compiled with clib2 with others compiled with newlib.

@ktadd
Things that I have observed so far:
- there are no Boost and Minigl libraries/headers. Are they going to be released later, separately?
- when running a couple of configure scripts, a warning window is opened, saying that a stack value was set too low (2k instead of the 6k required on a printf() function), and that the function may not work as expected. I don't have here the exact text, I'll copy it here tonight when I'll be at home. Luckily the configure script works, albeit using 100% of the CPU.

@ktadd I have already released a couple of months ago a first port of the recent 1.0rc2 version of mencoder (though it is now classified as "obsolete", so I should try porting a SVN version as well): http://os4depot.net/index.php?functio ... e=video/edit/mencoder.lhaI'm trying to fix any left bug/crash as well and to release a new version. @daveyw Quote: daveyw wrote: I then started playing around with mencoder. I now had the reverse problem, with Mencoder I can only extract audio. Any attempt to extract video results in a crash. I also cannot seem to extract audio as MP3 either, only AC3.
I'm currently working on a new release of mencoder. The version I uploaded on os4depot seem to crash with some parameters. Regarding the crash, have you ran mencoder with a high enough stack? "Stack 10000000" should be enough. If it still crashes, could you please post the command line which makes it crash, so that I can reproduce the bug? Thanks Varthall

@Murakami Try running it under abc-shell (just run "sh"; if you don't have abc-shell, download it from os4depot). Looking at the code it seems that the filename is being converted from UTF8 before trying to open it, I still don't know what happens there though. A wild guess, but you might also try adding an Unix-style path to the filenames (under abcshell): djvups ./Physique.djvu ./Physique.ps I don't have here my A1, unfortunately, so I can't test it yet. EDIT: Another idea: it might be an Unix path problem which has been addressed in the first beta (using the -lunix switch during the linking stage, which has been removed), if everything fails, try running the beta01 version and assign every assign request to the program's directory. This will be a temporary solution until I fix this problem. Link to the older version: http://sd-1.archive-host.com/membres/ ... DjVuLibre_3520_beta01.rarVarthall

@Murakami I have updated my website with a new compile of DjVuLibre, this one shouldn't ask anymore for the SDK assings. Remember to change the suffix from .rar to .lha: http://digilander.libero.it/varthall/I must add that the exe haven't been stripped of the debugging stuff, that's why they are that large. Varthall

I tried to edit some video with MEncoder and it can't keep audio and video syncronized. Could you try to fix that ?
I had never any problem with AV syncronization using mencoder. Could you post the command line string you have used, and if possible a link to a video that's giving you the problem? Regarding speed, I'm planning to make a new release with altivec support and, if it will make any difference, with specific CPU optimized versions for 750 (G3), 745x (G4) and 440 (Sam) CPUs. Varthall

Are SiS cards supported by OS4? I believe that only Radeon and Voodoo ones are supported, can anybody confirm this? Varthall

@ktadd Quote: FFMPEG can handle VOB files but if the VOB file is from a commercial DVD it's likely encrypted and FFMPEG can't handle encrypted VOB files.
In that case, MEncoder (another video conversion utility) can be compiled to have support for DeCSS. I believe my mencoder compile for OS4 has this feature disabled, I might make a new version with DeCSS enabled if someone needs it. Varthall

@Rogue
I have read a thread on the italian iksnet forum about the possibility to use two videocards on the SAM, the integrated one and another one in the PCI, at the same time, to use two monitors on one machine. M3X mentions that such feature would require a minor change in UBoot, what do you think?
