So I'm afraid I shall still keep saying Gallium3D as if it is the whole of story, just like I say "virtual memory" instead than "paging"...

Ah! Clear as mud.

Does this sound familiar?

C--'What's the name of the guy on first?'
A--'What is on second. Who is on first.'
C--'That's what I'm asking you'

Could you please produce a printable Flowchart?
One showing how all the elements combine to produce visible
graphics. Including of course Hardware/OS/Software.

This is like planning a road trip over telephone with everybody
looking at different maps.

Please, and Thank You.

You can also boot a SATA DVD drive connected to port 0.

Just plug the drive into the connector closest to the
center of the board (port 0).

Power on. Insert the bootable CD. When the computer fails
to boot with the 'no slb' message, hit a key and at the
] prompt type menu and hit Enter.

Down arrow to Boot Sequence, Enter. Down to OS Multiboot
Options, Enter. Again Enter for Boot Device 1. Select 440
SATA DVD, Enter.

Now hit the Esc key 3 times and down to Use settings for
this session only, Enter. That should return you to a
prompt. Now type boota and Enter. The DVD drive should
now boot.

If not.....let us know.

After reading many of the comments I began wondering,
What is the difference between 'Mainstream' and 'Rat Race' ?

We don't really know. If it is the one being guessed at, it
does have 2 co-processors, audio and video, so should be
OK for most tasks.

I'll take one.

I would swear I heard Trevor say something about 3 contracts

Sams and...............

I only heard it kinda sideways.

You might want to try Filer as a option to Dopus.
It does not use any 68K software.

Re: David May, parallel processors. Xmos

That sounds like it would be doable using a single core of Xena and
a minimal amount of circuitry.

When not using it for that purpose it may be programmable to monitor
other computer functions. CPU speed, network speed, RAM usage, etc..

Here is a question for the developer of Wizard.

Does it look for the Internet, or the first Ethernet chip?

My router has 2 chips and the modem 1.

Video Card.....hmmmm?

With the 'chip' RAM onboard, and the processors (GPUs) having access to that RAM, doing one special function.....
Sounds like 'Transputer' type thinking to me.

Except for the cache, sounds like an Amiga. Hmmmmmm.

There's a poll ?

Put me down for a No.

Actually I do use the Wizard, but in manual mode. I think
my router confuses it so I need to put in an address.

I did not need to re-setup for Up3. I just moved some junk
to my JUNK: drawer and all went smooth.

Re: David May, parallel processors. Xmos

As I said, I'm not much of a game player.

For XYZ I was thinking of actually having to lift the controller off
the table for the Y direction, and forward-back for Z. Perhaps for a
game a glove would work better than a visor for what I was thinking
about.

If USB is used for this more than 1 port would be required, however
Xmos can be programmed to use several lines in parallel, (and then
easily modified for some other purpose) and thus avoid the conversions
from serial to parallel to get a full binary word to - - wherever it
needs to go. Since the inputs are talking to a CPU even further
processing could be done on-chip before presenting to data to the rest
of the system.
