Speaking of which - would you consider the possibility to transfer/license your audio driver to OpenAmiga, so that other developers could learn from your code how to write an AHI driver for OS4?

I have written a guest story for amiga-news.de's 2022 Advent Calendar, which you can read under this link. I'd like to thank Daniel Reimann of the Amiga-news Team for the opportunity!

Have you downloaded the re-uploaded version? Because there was a problem with the one Fredrik uploaded originally.

Libflac 1.4.2 works for me perfectly.

@walkero

OS4.1 Final Edition has been around for many years and its price was in no way prohibitive. Update 2 is free, so I believe the developer can make a safe bet that OS4.1 FE Update 2 is the system most if not all OS4 users have installed. As others have pointed out, keeping backwards compatibility can be tedious, and in our tiny ecosystem, developer time and energy are limited.

AmiStore is a dead concept. Too quirky, too many problems with payments, AmiSphere logins, user support etc. The only way for the future is a regular online store running on a secure, continuosly maintained shopping platform, not an in-house thing running on somebody's server down in the basement.

Seems that Trevor doesn't care about this much while he's attending Amiga conferences like Amiga 37 in Germany.

Trevor is an enthusiast, a great supporter, and provides the necessary social glue in the community. But don't expect him to stand up and manage things - that's not what he does. I believe that he actually hates the day-to-day management chores, that's why he has other people to do them.

Amigaworld, sadly, has been taken over by trolls, many of them very hostile towards OS4. The attacks are often mean and personal. There's no use posting there any more, or reading it for that matter.

@kas1e

Same versions as yours, except for string.gadget - I have the new one that was released recently.

Looking at the code I can see that there's a SetGadgetAttrs() call before the WM_RETHINK, which triggers an unnecessary refresh. I've changed it to plain SetAttrs() because the rethink does the refresh automatically. But no idea whether it'll help fix the problem...

Re: Introducing the Rear Window blog

@kas1e

Hm, in that case it's something else. The temp directory defaults to PROGDIR:Temp/

When clicking on the File requester and Advanced listbrowser items, the program performs a WM_RETHINK. Perhaps your system has an old version of window.class? Just guessing.

Please let me know which version you have of:
window.class
layout.gadget
listbrowser.gadget
clicktab.gadget
button.gadget
string.gadget
getfile.gadget

The Prefs window doesn't use any Enhancer gadgets, so I don't think the problem is there.

I retested again , and basically just going to settings, and go through "Display/File requester/Advanced" cause a crash. I.e. you can run settings, adn the click on "Advanced" to have the same crash.

Each clicking on the Advanced tab runs a piece of code that checks the current available space in the temp directory. What is your setting for temporary files?

I tested only the line input, not the microphone one. What is the difference between these two...?

Signal level. Line signal is "hotter", so connecting a line-level source to a microphone input will cause distortion because the line signal is well beyond what the microphone input accepts.

Do you plan to update Uboot to support radeon RX cards?

Lack of Radeon RX support would IMHO make the Sam460LE a no-seller, taking into account the already existing limitations like DDR2-only memory and problems with cache coherency.
