Haha, mea culpa :) Sorry about that! It didn't look like 20 results in the original search. Thanks Orgin!

Maybe, but that doesn't really cut it. A simple, one-word query from the standard search box should return the results that match that word. It's simple. I wouldn't bother with any advanced search if the simple search doesn't work. I mean, it's quite a big issue IMHO when something like AmiCygnix can't be found because a) it's not in an intuitive directory, and b) the search function can't find it, even though the string "amicygnix" is found in the filename *and* the short description, the two fields the simple search supposedly looks at.

OS4Depot Search Function?

Hi guys, Is there something wrong with the search function on OS4Depot? It could also be something wrong with me, but I can't see what I'm doing wrong...
I went to OS4Depot.net and searched for AmiCygnix. I got a few results for Qt source, Gimp stuff and the SDK, but the actual base installation and core applications did not show up. Since I couldn't remember what directory they were in, I ended up having to google it to find that they are in Net/misc. Surely it should be easier than that??

@Minuous
Yeah, that's my guess at the best solution too. Interesting about KBD_READMATRIX, I wonder if it is actually a bug, or is it simply that OS4 doesn't have access to the actual matrix where classics do? Just speculating - I don't know how it works internally...

I think the simplest way to do this would be to keep track of it yourself? Using the basic loop in the code you linked to as a base:
- Assign an array for your rawkeys - Listen for keyboard events - set the appropriate element to the status of the key - Do whatever else your program does in its loop - Repeat
There is a function in keyboard.device for reading the keyboard matrix, perhaps you could use that instead? Check out the autodocs for keyboard.device/KBD_READMATRIX and see what you think - don't think it's a particularly easy way to do it though...

Not sure how to fit a language selection like would be required into Wordpress. Its very easy to add a new set of pages, but of course the menu running across the top would have to reflect the language selection and with this being a free hosting solution from Wordpress there is no opportunity to add any plug-ins that may be out there to satisfy this demand.
If there is a demand for a german version of the site it would best if someone volunteered to start a new blog/site and then I could just link to it from the English version.
What about having a second Wordpress account for the German one - that way, you can link to the German one from the English menu and vice versa without having to include both languages...

There's also Amaya for Amicygnix. It's not a fully native AmigaOS application, but it should be quite usable. I've used Amaya under Linux and it's pretty capable. Give it a go anyway - it's free!

Aww, that's a shame, I guess you're right though with windows 7 becoming ever more popular. I'm sure a few people would still find it useful though... If you do feel like putting it back up, I'd be happy to host it on my webspace.

Hi all (and Mikey_C specifically), Has something happened to the Samba for Idiots guide that was hosted on Mikey_C's Tesco homepage? Because searching for it now only brings up the Tesco "this page has moved" message... Thanks!

I here that os 4.1 can run classic apps through emulation is that true?
It can run an Amiga emulator to be able to play old games and run old software, this is similar to most platforms (WinUAE for example). But it can also run "system-friendly" applications seamlessly by just emulating the 68000 CPU. So it's down to how the app was written. For example, I use AmiBlitz the whole time on OS4.1, but it's actually an OS3.x application.

Hmmm... That's quite strange. My guess is that it's to do with the blocksize that is used for the transfer. Perhaps you could try setting the copy buffer lower in Workbench, or using arguments to the copy command in the CLI to see if this resolves the issue. Do other transfers work as expected, e.g. FTP between the machines?

Ummm... Why not leave it for a while and see - I may not be able to get past a certain stage, and a Reaction-based OS4-only one would still be welcome I'm sure.

Yeah, I'll have to pin it down more tightly before I can be sure - I'm coding in AmiBlitz and it could just as easily be a bug in the AB implementation or calls. I'll try a few more things and see how it goes... In other news, loading and saving projects works now

I'm using NListView for it, but the layout issue I have is to do with standard MUI objects on the right of the list, not the list itself. I'm also thinking of switching back to the standard ListView since there's a peculiar bug that I can't squash that is related to using NList and cycle gadgets. The better usability will make up for the lack of prettiness I reckon...

Have you tried swapping around the IRQ assignments in UBoot? Sounds about right though, if the SII card takes control of the bus and times out because of some confusion over IRQs, it'll starve anything on the bus of data - including transfers to the sound card...

Ah, I see... Wow... I haven't had a problem dealing with large web page, drawer or text file scrolling while playing music on my machine. A1XE-G4 with Radeon 9250 and a Soundblaster Live 5.1 and OS4.1 update 3. I do have some stuttering with heavy 3D stuff like Quake 3, but other than that nothing.

Is that not just noise getting into the VIA's circuitry from the PCI bus? Possibly there's a lot of information being shifted around in the scrolling operation. You get a similar effect on some PCs with built-in soundcards, and on a lot of laptops. Any time you have heavy graphics or drive access you can "hear" the data on the bus...
