@Mikey_C

Hold down the ESC when powering up the A1200

The blizzppc settings menu should appear on both the TV and your monitor.

Check the PPC RAM is at 70ns, MAPROM is turned off and there is also a setting for No 31Khz Video.
Make changes and save.

Do you get the bppc setting menu up on your monitor ?

Edit the startup-sequence on the bootfloppy and add the line

set echo on

before the set machine line.

What now ?

@nubechecorre

What we are trying to establish here is if your os4 kickstart is getting loaded or not ?

Please edit your OS4 startup-sequence
Make the first line

SET ECHO ON

Change the Bootloader line

C:Bootloader VERBOSE

Use a 3.X workbench disk to make the changes if you cant boot os4 to make them.
Or use the boot floppy and the orignal OS4 disc.

Reset your Amiga and report back what comes out on your TV

@nubechecorre

also add

set echo on

to the first line of your os4 startup-sequence.

When you say you can reach the early startup screen are you talking about the 3.1 startup screen on a 15Khz Display or the OS4 ESS on a monitor plugged into the graphics card on your mediator ?

@nubechecorre

If you say the OS4.0 CD worked but not the update use the CD to boot and edit a couple of files on your OS4 partition.

Change the line in your kicklayout-A1200

EXEC Kickstart/kernel

To

EXEC Kickstart/kernel.debug

Edit the startupo-sequence to:-

C:Bootloader COMMANDLINE "debuglevel=4 serial baudrate=9600"

or

C:Bootloader VERBOSE COMMANDLINE "debuglevel=4 serial baudrate=9600"

Then save the changes to startup-sequence and either hardreset or type reboot in the shell

C:Bootloader VERBOSE is handy for kickstart problems or if you just want to watch the kickstart being loaded.

Not only will boot take much longer but expect to hold the mouse buttons for quite a while when doing boot with no startup-sequence etc. You'll observe the power light flickering which is a sign both mouse buttons can be released.

Plug in a TV / 15Khz monitor if you have one.

Get a null modem cable and hook your A1200 upto a pc / laptop serial port / another amiga and run hyperterminal / Term from Aminet and match the baud rate of 9600.

Only after you do this will it be easier to help you.

Sorry my TFT doesn't work at the rates you have in your monitor tool types. I never get a 1600x1200 mode showing up in screen mode prefs even if its defined in the tooltypes, as its not supported by my monitor.

Re: AmigaONE USB:How to enable the front ports?

@MamePPCA1

From the doc which you should have got with your A1.
This is for the XE

Quote:

J9A1 (10-pin header near the lower rear corner of the board when mounted in a tower case) is for connecting the second USB connector (USB3 & USB4). Pin 1 is marked with a white square. Pins 9 & 10 are labelled on the board (pin 10 is missing as a polarising pin). Pins 1 (+5v), 3 (-D), 5 (+D), 7 (gnd) form USB3; pins 2 (+5v), 4 (-D), 6 (+D), 8 (gnd) form USB4; pin 9 is shield ground. Standard PC-type dual USB headers/sockets (available from most AmigaOne dealers) are suitable.

For the Micro A1

http://amigairc.amigarevolution.com/micro2.html

-Edit-

Most modern tower cases if they have front usb ports should have the cables already.

If not this sort of thing is what your after.

@MamePPCA1

Through uboot

press ESC to abort the boot sequence.

at the uboot prompt type menu

enable the ports in the menu, save and quit.

You might be able to do it via uboot prefs in sys:prefs/

-Edit-

Refer back to your Eyetech XE Quickstart guide before attaching the cables to the headers. The pins are reversed IIRC on one set of the headers.

@Dragster

No problems here with 1440x900x16bit or 1280x1024x16bit.
However I don't have a monitor which can handle a native resolution greater than that.

I'll see if I can create a 1600x1200x16bit mode.

Can you try adding the TOOLTYPE below to see if your problem disappears:-

NOBLITTER=YES

-Edit-

Can you post your Monitor ToolTypes or the mode settings from P96Mode if you are using a settings file.

A Record aka vinyl player that plugs into a usb port.

eg:-

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?T ... 1&ModuleNo=98232&doy=22m1

Or an interface between a record player and a usbport,
sort of like a usb sampler:- this is the most popular brand.

@Spirantho

Somehow I got to many quote marks in there:-

C:Bootloader VERBOSE COMMANDLINE "debuglevel=10 serial baudrate=9600"

Should be the above but you've probably figured that out.

There is a usb.log in t: what does thay say ?

IIRC there was a usbinfo tool in the 51.22 sdk.

Do you have problems formatting IDE drives or Just scsi ?
