@orgin

Thank you

edit: does that comply to replacing a file as well?

@Maijestro

i did found a similar one, but it doesnt involve yt.

just open odyssey, surf to amigans.net and start scummvm...dsi crash that points to libssl.so...not sure, but maybe openssl is clashing with amissl

anyways, right now id like to hesr if the exit crash is gone

thank you

There is a new test build up

called scummvm-free-signals-fix

Please test if the quit crash is gone for good

@AlfredOne

Nope, the first 2 GB will be utilized, no matter if you have 2x2GB, 2x4GB or 4x4GB

2x2GB for example will never touch the second ram bank

Only when you use 2x1GB it will switch to interleave...but as i wrote above, expect a rocky road

@AlfredOne

Save some time maybe, since CFE/hardware is still on the same version

https://www.amigans.net/modules/newbb/ ... id=114969#forumpost114969

Quote:

I played around with memory sticks and found that my (probably all) hardware seems to be defect when it comes to bank interleaving.

Either that or CFE was never tested with either more than 4 GB in place or all banks populated with modules.

Under WB only 2 GB are visible, i know that, but having (perfectly fine and usable) 4x 4 GB sticks in all the banks, i get sudden hardware(!) shutdowns as soon as i let ragemem run under WB.
It always breaks when it starts testing the L2 cache.

Other programs display that behaviour too, memory hungry stuff, like ScummVM and ResidualVM.

This is with 16 GB and 8 GB in place on interleaved banks (i.e. bank 1 and 3, bank 2 and 4).

2x 16 GB on different banks i can't test due to lack of modules, but 2x 4 GB works perfectly fine under WB (if on different banks), no more sudden shutdown, nothing, stable as a rock, as soon as i plug the other two 4 GB modules in (same developer, same brand, same module) OR i set two of those modules on interleave,i get the dropouts

@Rigo

I had "amiupdate.net" set as server as well, without getting the update
Switching to "www.amiupdate.net" brought up the update *and* three more (including AmiSSL and Netsurf)...strange thing this interweb

Thank you

...

and while you are listening...is there a possibility to remove entries from my web account?

i.e. i only have two entries (ScummVM and ResidualVM) in my account (one of them empty, as ResidualVM has been merged into ScummVM a long time ago), but can i remove it?
Don't i just find the button for it, or do you have to do it? (given it's also listed in the app server list?)

Thank you again

even if they were successfull back then it would be outdated by now

If any of you has a reproducable crash on exit with a certain game/engine, please do tell.

For me it seems to be quite random, which is hard to catch

@cloverskull

Take a look here

@Hans knows about it.

Quote:

from @Hans

It looks like the driver is having trouble setting up the power management properly

...the clocks seem to be stuck at minimum levels

It's a bit strange that the fan would go up to high when it's supposedly running at minimum clock speed, but it is possible that the voltage gets set to the maximum.

I'm certain that the low clock speed is the reason for the bad GfxBench2D results.

There's a decent chance that updating the powerplay
code from the AMDGPU open-source driver would help. Alas, they've made huge changes internally, making updating anything difficult. I have no idea when that'll happen.

I really wish we had more developers working on the graphics system + drivers...

Re: Best way to clone HDD?

@cloverskull

http://www.onyxsoft.se/backup.html

- Download the program
- Plug your new hdd in
- Prepare your new hdd
- Back up your old hdds to the new ones via the program
- Change the boot priority of your new hdds
- Turn off your system
- Remove your old hdds (or level them as not bootable)
- Reboot

Note: You still need a tiny FFS partition (hidden?) for boot.of...not sure which hatdware you use

Edit: Obviously it's an x5000 due to ngfs...you can probably skip the Boot.of part then, not sure

@rjd324

Yes, normally using

Quote:

sh ./configure

The funny thing is that another project picks up zlib just fine, so im guessing that specific configure messes up the pathes or has them wrongly hardcoded.
