@spotUP I have very little spare time to work on my projects, but when I do, I'm working on 2 projects currently: OS4DepotGUI: http://www.alexwe.de/os4depotguiNot so much working on it, but hunting a nasty bug for almost a year now Japairs: http://www.alexwe.de/japairsA small Hollywood game for learning Hiragana and Katakana (currently for OS4, MOS and Windows - I can create other versions by request/I have myself requested a MacOSX version already )

Thanks! Quote: Would you consider the following features :
MD5 hash check / validation The full index file of os4depot doesn't have md5 checksums, so not really possible with the current logic. Quote: search / sort feature, eg name, version, developer, OS This would only work for files where the readme already has been downloaded. And I don't know if I have the time for such a feature. :-/ Quote: and for developers access to source (which should be a must in os4depot - incase something happend to the developer and the code is lost). At the moment I will keep it closed source, sorry. Should I really give up work on it and the demand is there, I will open it of course or give it to another developer. (And it's not that my program is required for using os4depot.) Regards, Alex.

@samo79 Sorry for answering so late, but I haven't logged into Amigans for some time. I have a newer version of OS4DepotGUI, but it's kind of unstable and I don't find the error. I also didn't have much time lately. But as any kind of feedback always motivates, I might continue the bug hunt again

OWB 3.5 is really wonderful. Very fast and stable. Thanks! One thing I'd like to see is a confirmation requester for RAmiga+Q. I just wanted to post into a forum and tried to type "@". Suddenly OWB closed and my whole writing was gone. I know it's my fault mixing up Amiga and Alt, but a requester would have saved me.
Keep on the good work!

@pseudaxos Also very nice song! Of course I've continued working on mine and it's already over 3 1/2 minutes long. Now I have to find a good beginning and an ending. And a name of course... But I think it's going to be the best song I've written so far. Alex.

@pseudaxos The program is wonderful! I haven't made proper music for a long time. Since I have my AmigaOne (and can't use OctaMed Soundstudio anymore) I have tried to get into those sequencer kind of programs like HD-Rec, Horny or B&P. Horrible! I just can't make music this way. Today I have tried Milky and felt directly at home. Amazing how it's like the old ProTracker programs. Whoever invented this kind of music editing scheme deserves an award IMO. Without looking at any docs, I have made this little piece of music today (using the "starter sample pack" instruments): http://www.alexwe.de/milkytest.mp3Not bad for a first try, eh? Now where was that paypal button again...? Alex.

Glad that it works :) I will do another version with the safety checks before I upload it to OS4Depot.

Hi!
There's something wrong with the file game/adventure/freesci-src.tar.gz in FULLINDEX.readme it is stated as 6359040 bytes big but the downloaded file is 6359260 bytes. Strange thing is, when you download it with IBrowse, it says the file will be 6359040 bytes but the resulting file is different.

@orgin It does at the program start. Is that a problem for the server? (If you've noticed loads of index file downloads yesterday, I was testing if the program crashes on startup - open - close - open - close -open - close - ... :) I know you suggested using http://os4depot.net/modules/apms/SINCE.php?since=1185500479but that would mean a total restructuring of the program logic. Alex.

@TSK Read what I wrote in post 41. Set the directory path to an empty directory and everything should work as it should. If you have done it correctly, you should only see the main directories of OS4Depot after starting, i.e:
+audio +datatype +demo +development +document +driver +emulation +game +graphics +library +network +office +utility +video
If you see any other files, you have set a wrong path. I will insert some safety checks in the next version but until then, just use it as it's supposed to be used.
Alex.

@Valiant ??? Did you point OS4DepotGUI to its own directory? You shouldn't do that. You should point it to a directory where you plan to store the downloaded OS4Depot files. I.e. best would be an empty directory for the start. Please read the manual. I have explained it there too.
But I'm happy that it doesn't crash on startup at least :)
Alex.

@all: I could reproduce the problem when I have lots of programs open. So I checked the code again and I have found an uninitialized variable. Could be that this was the problem - after I fixed it I couldn't reproduce the bug again - so you might want to download and try it again.

@AmigaClyde If it doesn't lock up for you too :( Seems to be a serious problem.
@All who tried it so far: What computer do you use? Which version of the OS? Are you an OS4 betatester? Does it work for you? You can mail me the info in private of course to alexwe at alexwe dot de
Thanks,
Alex.

@Valiant Quote: I hope you've already come out with a new revision because as soon as it downloaded the db index it locked up my system so completely I had to do a hard reset and several soft ones. As I said, it works fine for me. I need some more info like a serial log for example. Alex.
