Customers can now choose between two formats of this amazing game:

a purely digital version at a price of only EUR 14.95 incl. VAT for download in our restricted download area,
or buy a boxed version at their preferred Amiga dealer.

The downloadable content consists of an image of the original CD for AmigaOS 68k/WarpOS and an archived game drawer for AmigaOS 4.1 including all languages and manual.

Purchasers get a serial number inside their box or by email to register their purchase at our website in order to get access to our restricted download area for the game archive, the original ISO image as well as potential future updates. For a first look, free demo versions are available from the public download area.

 who the hero ?
I don't find in the press release who is author of os4 port. Strange author wasn't mention, as probably he deserve a credit for in the press release. Of course, if only it not the case when hyperion pay a lot so they can not point about, which i somehow doubt :)

 Re: who the hero ?
Yeah, it's a bit strange that they weren't credited at all. They might have wished to protect their identity from the angry mob of Amigans :D

 Re: Freespace
I just assumed this would be whoever coded the original.
I thought that was the Frieden brothers.

Thanks very much to whoever it was.
Just tested and playing well.

Cheers

 Re: Freespace
There are no sectets, Frank Menzel (EntwicklerX Coder ;) ) spent the last weeks (many hours a day) with finishing the Freespace for OS4.1. Timothy asked us because he is a big fan os bringing some updates for the "older" games, or at least get them work on current AmigaOS. We also like to see all those games if possible (Gorky17 was great, now Freespace). First Question from Timothy: We need an adjusted GUI for Config, no big work ;) ... but while working on some things Frank had to solve some problems (performance of explosions and others where bad, language problems, 32Bit mode works now, Freespace also runs in window mode, adjusted texture sizes (biggest setting where 1/4 of the textures in the game drawer... very blurry and much more). Now it runs also great in FullHD on my Sam460, i am happy. I think in the readme should be some people listed which where involved (no time to look at the final version of the archive). Thanks for playing and maybe purchasing a download version. Regards, Thomas Edit: and dont forget the work before us on freespace: BSzili + Daytona (Daniel Müßener)

We don´t know yet, which licenses are available to work on a new version. We will see what the future brings and ask Timothy what is possible.

 Re: freespace
They definitely have the license for Shogo, Heretic 2 might have expired.

Re: Descent: Freespace available as digital download and ...
The Heretic II demo I have from my copy of Freescape runs on my X5000, so I am guessing its just a case of re-releasing the full game as you can't find it anywhere. I would shell out the cash for a copy (hint hint Hyperion)
As for Shogo, I too would pay for a new updated working version.

 Updated games
Great news for all the original games on Amiga 13 year olds would be drooling at the game pages for Amiga - anything else would be a SIN :)
