Re: I do not know what else to do?!

@salass00

#hardfile2=rw,HD7:Games:Emulators/E-UAE/disks/gcc.hdf,32,1,2,512,0
#hardfile2=rw,HD7:Games:Emulators/E-UAE/disks/AmigaSYS3PlusEUAE.hdf,32,1,2,512,0

Thanks, but why do you have two different file names to HD7?

Righto. Some progress has been made.

I now have this is my uaerc config file, and the HDF file, HDgames, is appearing on the workbench screen.

filesystem2=rw,DH0:System:$(FILE_PATH)/Desktop/UAE/Hard Drives/Workbench 3.1,0
filesystem=rw,System:$(FILE_PATH)/Desktop/UAE/Hard Drives/Workbench 3.1
filesystem2=rw,DH1:Programs:$(FILE_PATH)/Desktop/UAE/Hard Drives/Programs,0
filesystem=rw,Programs:$(FILE_PATH)/Desktop/UAE/Hard Drives/Programs
filesystem2=rw,DH2:Games:$(FILE_PATH)/Desktop/UAE/Hard Drives/Games,0
filesystem=rw,Games:$(FILE_PATH)/Desktop/UAE/Hard Drives/Games
hardfile2=rw,HD3:/usr/local/hardfile1,32,1,2,512,-1
hardfile=rw,32,1,2,512,-1,/usr/local/hardfile1

Now that guide you posted said that the above will not allow HDtoolbox to see the HDgames file I just created, and he is right, but the guide says to do something else, and I don't understand what he has done...All those mount cdrom bits were there in screenshots before creating the HDF so I do not believe they have significance,

It still will not show up in hdtoolbox like this so I tried a little experiment.
I changed some numbers in the euaerc file like this:

filesystem2=rw,HD6:Eboot:/usr/local/amiga/Emergency-Boot,-1
filesystem=rw,Eboot:/usr/local/amiga/Emergency-Boot
filesystem2=rw,HD7:Os3.9:/usr/local/amiga/Wb3.9,1
filesystem=rw,Os3.9:/usr/local/amiga/Wb3.9
filesystem2=ro,CD1:Aos39cd:/mnt/cdrom,0
filesystem=ro,Aos39cd:/mnt/cdrom
hardfile2=rw,HD3:/usr/local/amiga/hardfile1,0,0,0,512,0,
hardfile=rw,0,0,0,512,/usr/local/amiga/hardfile1
hardfile2=rw,HD2:/usr/local/amiga/hardfile2,0,0,0,512,-1,
hardfile=rw,0,0,0,512,/usr/local/amiga/hardfile2
hardfile2=rw,HD1:/usr/local/amiga/hardfile3,0,0,0,512,-1,
hardfile=rw,0,0,0,512,/usr/local/amiga/hardfile3
filesystem2=rw,Download:HD4:$(FILE_PATH)/Download,0
filesystem=rw,HD4:$(FILE_PATH)/Download

Now it should boot from HD7: and the hardfiles should be recognized as RDB hardfiles
Starting the emulator made this appear in the console:

Mounting uaehf.device 0 (0):
FS: mounted virtual unit HD6 (/usr/local/amiga/Emergency-Boot)
Mounting uaehf.device 1 (0):
FS: mounted virtual unit HD7 (/usr/local/amiga/Wb3.9)
Mounting uaehf.device 2 (0):
FS: mounted virtual unit CD1 (/mnt/cdrom)
Mounting uaehf.device 3 (0) (size=83886080):
failed, no RDB detected
Mounting uaehf.device 4 (0) (size=838860800):
failed, no RDB detected
Mounting uaehf.device 5 (0) (size=83886080):
failed, no RDB detected
Mounting uaehf.device 6 (0):
FS: mounted virtual unit Download (/home/weasel/Downloa

After this step, it says 'success!' in the tutorial...so I know I am within touching distance. All I want to do is play some Amiga games off this hardfile to quicken loading times etc! Please, anyone, even if it is just a guess, give me some help! :P thanks

Ok, nice one you two. Finally found someone who may know what they are doing!

Thanks for that guide, I'll look into it.

Hello.

I do not think that this is the right forum, but I thought I may get more of a chance of getting some help here :p

I have E-UAE installed on yellow dog linux on my ps3.

I have set up Workbench 3.1 and that works fine. What I want to do is play some games in HDF format.

I have searched around and saw that you need to add a line of code in a document called .Uaerc I have located this file and added a line of code, but when I look on the 'harddrive' tab on E-UAE it does not appear, and when I am on workbench I go into the GAMES folder and nothing is there...

I have followed this instruction from a website I found:

"To use hdf in E-UAE you must add hardfile entry to ~/.uaerc. Here is an example:

hardfile2=rw,DH0:~/hardfile.hdf,0,0,0,512,0,"

I do actually have a hardfile.hdf (I have created one and used one I downloaded) I have tried copying the code exactly, I have tried copying the code and replacing the ~ with the file path...I noticed the filesystem bit has filesystem and filesystem2 above it, so I have tried that sort of approach with the hardfile code...

Bear in mind I have struggled through this, so any solutions would need to be quite thorough to avoid a "and how do I do that?"

Thank you for any help you can give me. Will be much appreciated.
