@Helloworld
It's actually Toaks' aquax theme on OSdepot. Dated 2004, which should be right.
With regards to being scared turning the A1 one: except for this recent episode mine has been as reliable as an A1 XE can be. I had/have more issues with my A4000, but that might be another topic.
At this point I'm looking for some upgrades for the A1 (gfx, usb, maybe SATA) but that's vintage hardware by now as well.

@Raziel
Yeah...Timberwolf crashes here as well. A pity, after all the hard work that went in it.
Will try Odyssey. The latest iBrowse seems improved and I personally never was a fan of Aweb.
Now browsing OS4depot, maybe that theme made it over there

@Helloworld It's working fine after a reboot. I did fail to back-up my previous OS4.0 installation, resulting in the loss of the look that I used. My Workbench basically looked like MacOS did back in 2005-2007. I got that setup from another user back then. No clue anymore on how to get that back, though I have an older backup with some of the icons. I don't have onboard sound, but a dedicated soundcard. Still no clue what actually fixed the issue, but after all the updates it boots faster than it ever did. Now trying to find where to download Timberwolf. Anyways, thanks to both you and Raziel .

Thx! Now it appears as if my A1ide doesn't work, not crucial as I use the sii0680 anyways. But it sure is strange.
OS 4.1 FE installed. AmiUpdate complains about a library it can't find...Trying a reboot first

So...after reading about my umpteenth typo, I started the A1. One of the CD drives was connected to A1ide since the latest test. For some reason, the bus scan failed. No drive detected.
I powered the machine down, checked connections, no joy. Powered down again, changed drive, no joy.
With a sigh, I connected everything back to the sii0680. Incredibly, it booted from the OS4.1 FE CD...(Lite-on drive)

@Helloworld
I've tried 2 different IDE cables. Both yield the same result.
USB is worth a shot, not sure whether that'll work due to the A1 XE usb issues. One USB port is in use by my mouse. I do have a usb -> PS/2 adaptor but if I use that my mouse doesn't work.

One step forward, one step back...
Tried a different CD drive. This one is a Lite-on. It is detected, when connected to the primary VIA port, jumper set to master. My HD is still on the sii0680, as master.
It still won't boot from CD. It still boots from the HDD but...fails to go beyond kickstart. I see modules being loaded but after a bit I get the insert disk screen.

No joy
I did find another cable, used that to connect the CD drive to the primary VIA IDE.
Might be my a1Ide related settings, but after ide reset scanning bus 0 times out. No devices found. I could try another CD drive, but I doubt that's the issue.

@Raziel Thanks for the welcome . Yeah, I did find those resources. Didn't help me so far. I've also tried to (re)register at the Hyperion forums, still waiting to be allowed (back) in there. Also, the battery is fresh (i did remeber that much, lol). Trying to update my A1XEG4 to OS4.1 FE

Long story short: after years of gathering dust I decided to bring my A1XE to life again. It booted fine, so I ordered AOS4.1 FE for it, in order to bring it up to date.
That's what leads me here after all these years: it won't boot from CDROM. I hope someone can help me figure this out, as I've lost a lot of knowledge regarding the A1 and AOS4 over the years.
Debug output, just in case (I can't figure out how to fix the IRQ messages anymore, btw) Also the loadsector messages have me puzzled:
