I would save about US$560 to get the motherboard only shipped to Canada. Getting the other parts (HDD, gfx card, case, etc...) after would probably cost about the same price.

It's really a matter of preference if you want the board only or the whole system. It's not much about the savings.

Well, I did not say "Fasssst!" but just fast as in very usable. I don't feel like I'm waiting for the GUI to react like using Timberwolf.

Yes, thank you Acube for making a decent computer to run OS4 at a decent price considering the small market. WIthout a machine like the sam460 I would not be back as an Amigan :)

I've owned a SAM460 for a couple of months and frankly as cool as the X1000 is I would not do much more with it than I already do:

-Play DVD movies (fast enough)
-Play mp3 music (sound now fine)
-Browse the net (OWB is fast, Timberwolf is soon to be working fine)
-E-mailing
-Burn CDs/DVDs
-Connect to my network drive (NAS using samba)
-Connect USB stick and my Android Phone for file transfers
-Play Quake, Quake 2, Quake 3 (not yet really in 3D)
-Play old games with RUNinUAE
-Play SCUMM games
-and much more


To my knowledge the X1000 does all this just faster but does the cost justify the speed? I think not.

I don't know if my problem is due to the same thing but I get a "couldn't open window" message when starting the game.
