Re: AmigaOne XE-G4 resurrection

The AmigaOne XE uses an 2x AGP slot. If you put an 4x or an 8x only card in the slot you will fry the graphics card due to higher voltage the 2x slot uses.

Some cards are backwards compatible, it should say somewhere in the manual if it is.

@Thematic

The version which comes with 4.1FE the partition list is empty this is a known problem which is fixed with the newer version 53.7 in the enhancer pack.

@Cass

The only recovery tool for FFS2 partitions is PartitionWizard.

If you are using 4.1FE you will need the updated version which is part of A-Eon's Enhancer Pack as version which came with 4.1FE is broken or your other option is to boot from a 4.1 CD and use that version to fix it.

@Rob

I'm not sure if DiskSalv would work as it supports FFS1 and OS4 uses FFS2.

@Cass

The version of PartitionWizard included in OS4.1FE never worked at all, I tested it on my Classic and AmigaOneXE machines.

Your only options are to buy the A-Eon's Enhancer Pack to get an updated version which does work or to boot into an older version of OS4.1 which use to work.

I know the Early Start Up Menu is not support on the BVision and only comes out the RGB/RF ports unlike the the previous 4.1 update 6 version. It is in the FAQ on the Hyperion Message Board. It is caused by the new graphics system 4.1FE uses.

@doh-doh

Only the Pegasos 2 boards are support by OS4.1. According to one of the AmiWest videos the Pegasos 1 version was too unstable to be released.

@MamePPCA1

CD32 games do not have any copy protection on them at all.

Burned games do work on a CD32 but you really need to burn them at the lowest speed as possible recommended at 2X. Certain brands of CDRs may have problems as well.

@ikir

All you have to do is go in to the configuration.

Go in to Buffer and Buffer update
then Load-Work Precedence
then make sure RC5-72 has =0 next to it and it won't download RC5 anymore

Then save your settings and you are done
