Re: Lightworks going open source

Just popping in

@Elwood
I don't know the motivations for an open source release.
Simply saying this looks interesting for future reference.
The parallels between this and how blender went open
source seem simular. Hopefully Lightworks benefits from
open source as much as Blender has.

Something to keep an eye on in the future. Lightworks video editor is transitioning to open source soon. This is an amazing production quality editor.

@Holymonkey
Yes I believe you're right. I'm just throwing out ideas ;)
Here's some more. Adpro or perhaps ImageFX?
I don't think Personal Paint or TVpaint had that feature. I guess we'll eliminate those two from the list

Yes. I believe you are right. I don't recall having direct control of the pallete per scanline... You have me curious.

@Holymonkey
Photon paint, Brilliance and Deluxe paint IV all had this feature. Photon paint was quite unique, maybe this is what you remember?

@Kasle
I understand what your saying. To note the boing ball lights up when your mouse hovers over it. Maybe I will keep the boing ball bright by default. That will be tonight if I find time.

@djrikki
Yes Amigans like drama. It's all we've known for so long we are lost without it.

To be clear this is just photoshop. No CSS or html going on here. That would be a cut and paste job of a different kind ;) As for the Aquaria embeded video, It's a mock up. That video does not really exist. Your right about getting some quality Youtube content for later though.

Edited for spelling.

I think what djrikki is trying to do is an excellent idea and I don't want to draw attention away from the hard work he has done so far. Hopefully this will be of some use to him.

@kas1e
Thank you for the advise. Any ideas on what you would like in the top area or what you dont' like about current

@Raziel

Strange coincidence. On August 3rd he was 20 meters from my work. It looks like he was in the Whistler bike park. I could have waited in the line and asked him directly to open source mui4. Would have been fun to ride with him and then suddenly hit him with the request.
Oh the missed opportunities.

Re: new amigaos hw?

@feanor

I like this project and your efforts to move it forward. I think there is a market here for the right board and hitting 500 units is reasonable with the right price and hardware. I didn't sign up for your survey however.

The problem here is your putting the chicken before the egg on this project. Will the board have OS4 ported to it? Have the authors (hyperion) expressed interest? No Amigan will buy this board if there is no OS4 to go with it. I believe this is why your survey numbers are down. If you cannot get Hyperion to do the port (too busy, not interested, want money for port, conflicts with current partners projects, etc.) then you have just wasted your energy and money. None of us want that.

Just trying to clarify why you may have had a lack of interest from Amiga user the past month.

Gnu
