This happens on any program, even on the demos that come with QT 1.1.0

It seems that even QT 4.7 needs some update. The latest version complains on my system about multiple families on font config files. Also, I guess that it needs a recompile to use the newest AmiSSL, which I think it uses.
It would be a pity all this work alfkill did to die.

A lot of time passed since the last update on anything that has to do with QT. Is his still alive? Does anyone work on aything for QT?
Is there anywhere a newer version than 1.1.0 that exists on OS4Depot?

@kas1e I tested this version as downloaded from Aminet a few days ago. It is great having the latest version of vim for our system. And of'course, even a small fix, like removeing the empty shell, is so nice to have. And I bet it was a tricky one.
Thank you stix for all the work you do.
In the package there is also a lite gvim executable. Unfortunately, there is not enough information about it. What are the differences against the full version?

Alinea has the rights of Art Effect and Amiga Writer and sits on them. Not a single update all these years.
AmigaKit and A-Eon got the rights of all this software and sit on them as well.
Even the people that have the rights for Final Writer. They do some work but after all these years no real release, other than some demo on Icaros distribution.
If they do not intend to put some people to work on them, we will see no new versions and updates. In my opinion all these software will have more chances if they get open source. At least this is going to be a good step to start updating them than start from the scratch.

@templario We didn't pay Daniel, we paid Cinemaware. They should be the target, and not Daniel. They got our money and not the developer. In my opinion is a waste of time and energy to discuss that with the developer, just because he is still in here.
As I wrote before, I do not expect him to finish the game, even if he wanted to. Everyone has specific hours during the day and we all need to work on something that brings us enough money to feed our families and pay the bills. I wouldn't like to do any free work. As he said he estimated wrongly the amount of work he had to do. This doesn't mean that we have to attack him.
On the other hand it was our fault as well for not chasing Cinemaware earlier. We should demand for a refund years ago. Maybe by now we would have our money back.
Attacking the developer this way will not change anything, if not make things worse. I have infinite faith to Daniel, and I would gladly prepay any project he will work on for our systems. This guy does a tremendous work on minigl and OpneGL, and he gave us so many free games in the past. We have to be glad having him in our community. We owe him more than what you think of. Take a few minutes and think about it.
I would recommend to everyone to be calm and move on. This forum is not a place for attacks and bulling. There are other forums for that. This forum is more for creativity and a place where we all want to be part of.

@Raziel
That is a pity that they disappeared. So I assume that Daniel, even if he finishes the port, will not expect to get paid for this amount of work. So, I do not expect him to finish it for free. And surely an attack by users does not help.
What helps would be to see how we can demand to get that refund from Cinemaware guys, if possible. All together, and not everyone on himself. A multi person movement would be more powerful. That's what, in my opinion, should a community do, and not attacking a developer, because it is easier to sit down and write a post.

@magnetic To be honest I don't see how your posts will help the situation. You think that if you attack any developer he will straight start his code editor and finish his code?
I would like to assure you that you will not get that. On contrary, you push them away even more.
In my opinion, you should discuss that with him privately, if you want, or discuss that with Cinemaware Retro, who started the whole thing and who got your money. Did you ask for a refund?

For an SSD you might want to set blocksize to 4096, since this is the minimum for these disks. As much as I know, and please correct me if I am wrong, if you set it to lower, the disk reserves 4096 blocksize, writing only the blocksize you set in there. This means that you do not use the full space, losing capacity on your disk.

@Capehill Thank you for your reply and for taking the time to look at it. Much appreciated.
Some clarification on crashes, that might help.
If the game opens on it's own screen and crashes, so the pointer doesn't move and the game is not playable.
After that I can switch to WB with keyboard, but if the game opens a window at WB, and crashes, then the whole system is not usable, because pointer still doesn't move and you can't do anything than reboot the system.

@samo79 You are right. I will create it there as an issue as well. The thing is that right now I am not sure if this is a problem of the old port of GemRB, which might need a new compilation with the latest SDL, or something that has to do with SDL itself, which by chance the old version from 2012 was working fine.

I got the following information on serial, which looks relevant and might help on a fix. The last line repeats constantly at the log https://os4coding.net/node/2426

I have some findings on that. I was using the libSDL 1.2 (1.4 22/01/2018) which had those crashes with GemRB port.
I changed it to libSDL 1.2 (19/08/2012) and GemRB worked fine, no matter which minigl library I am using, even with Daniel's latest version. Maybe it doesn't use it at all. I am not sure on that.
Then I tried latest libSDL 1.2 (1.4 01/05/2020) and still crashes, but without the broken graphics, as shown at my screenshots mentioned in previous post.
I am going to try the debug version and see if there is any helpful information on serial for that.

In my mind this forum is one of the less trolled and fighting driven forums of the Amiga community out there, and that's why I love to be in here, communicating with everyone. On the contrary, I find this forum initiate a lot of good stuff done in our community, with a positive side to all of us. At least, that's how I understand it. Unfortunately, the last hours some discussions were exactly on the opposite side. It is funny though, while I was trying to cool things down, Firefox proposed me, on it's home screen, the following article, which I found really interesting to read. https://www.inc.com/justin-bariso/it-t ... -career-advice-youll.html
