@K-L
If it doesn't have any problems with the official SDL version of 0.8.29-WIP4, i'll do a straight port of 0.8.29-WIP4 for amigfx without merging anything from 20080820 and give it to ChrisH to try.
Actually I think I already have an executable somewhere.
Edit: I'm now doing a clib2 version to give him to try out. I doubt it'll help... but you never know.

Keeps making it look like it's all my fault :) I'm mainly just doing a ./configure and Make. The only real change is -D__USE_INLINE__ and -lamiga (and -O3 if you consider that a change).
So I doubt it's going to be fixed. I can't code (I doubt AREXX counts). Have a look at the source yourself if you want, it's fairly small.
Edit: FYI, with beta 5. I haven't experienced any issues with floppy drive sounds, but I haven't been using it very long either. Most games I play have very little disk access.

I don't see why current software can't do that now? You should be able to backup and read in regular ISO9660 + Rock Ridge.

Just reading the data is no problem at all, we just need a UDF 2.5 filesystem.
Decrypting blu-ray MOVIE data is different, and not even possible to do properly on Linux yet.
Burning on BD (not UDF2.5 though) shouldn't be any issue, FryingPan should be capable, right now, today.... unless it's anal about disc sizes.

@Hitman Which OS is this? On OS4's OWB, ramiga+f brings up search. Ctrl+F does nothing. Quote: 3) If you do a search with ctrl-f then every time after that if you hit ctrl-f again to do another search, the contents of the search box is replaced with the first search. ie.
a) Hit ctrl-f and search for "one" b) Hit ctrl-f and search for "two" c) Hit ctrl-f again and "two" is replaced by"one" which is annoying if you want to do another search for "two"/ Eh? Ctrl-F does nothing here. ramiga+f brings up a search bar at the bottom. I can then search something, press enter. The bar still stays, ramiga+f just makes the title bar blink black and gives a system beep, since the search/find bar is still open. Is there some tool being used to enable ctrl to be used as the amiga key?

@Mrodfr
Not sure if this has been mentioned yet. The decss plugin doesn't read from the drive as efficiently as the official dvd plugin. It seems to read in smaller chunks and there doesn't seem to be any buffer what so ever. This results in stutters, making any movie completely unwatchable on my system/drive.
Using DVplayer with its own supplied dvd plugin works fine, however it is unable to read protected DVDs.
Hrmm.

e-uae has gfxfilter options, but I don't believe they're complete. I did try enabling it once and it failed miserably.

m3x (whom works for ACube) says that with OS4.1.1, you don't need to link with them. Check OS4Depot comments for e-uae-amigfx.

Ahh ok, sorry I mistook you.
By the way, i've just noticed a lot games work a bit better setting cpu speed to max instead of real. Try it out.
Anyway.. /end of thread derailment.

.. but 0.8.28 doesn't work on 8bit screens either. It's not just "my version" that has that problem.
Are you not having that same problem with 0.8.28? Choose "=ask" and try out all the fakenative and 8bit screenmodes.
Edit: While I remember. AMIGFX doesn't support uaegfx/picasso96 screenmodes while the SDL version does. Just thought i'd tell you now incase some peoples Workbench installations suddenly stop working :) (Again, same with 0.8.28).

@ChrisH Quote: I'm going to compare your version again v0.8.28. Since yours shouldn't have the crash-on-close bug, I'm really hoping that I can supply your version of E-UAE with RunInUAE... Did you mean "against"? I'm confused with that first sentence. I don't have any version of 0.8.28 that I compiled and released publically. Which crash-on-close bug are you talking about? I've never experienced that with 0.8.28, only 0.8.29-20080820 when it's closing down the AHI device. Thus the version I put on OS4Depot just now is 0.8.29-WIP4 (no close sound crash bug) with bits of 20080820 merged in. The version I sent you privately in an email was 0.8.29-WIP4 with absolutely no sourcecode changes whatsoever (cept for bsdsocket, which didnt work). Anyone know how to get pipe() on OS4? :) Then I could get bsdsocket emulation working. Quote: Do you mean that AGA does *not* work on 8-bit screens? I honestly wouldn't worry about that! Who uses them these days anyway?!? Plus, I know from my experience on Amithlon that it would look quite ugly. It should, 8bit is 256 colours. With dithering turned off it should look fine (funny about that, you should never have to turn it off anyway). Dithering only applicable to AMIGFX, which isn't working with AGA on 8bit screens. Anyway, the first question, do I mean "AGA does *not* work on 8-bit screens?". No, I don't mean that. It works fine with SDL builds. It's a bug with AMIGFX, since the LEDs show up fine. It only works when Cybergraphics is used. I might have a poke again and see if I can do something, but I have pratically 0% knowledge of C. I just have good instincts :) Unfortunately AGA games don't work in a window either. This is with 0.8.28 as well though, so I can't blame myself. Edit: AGA games do work in a window, if your workbench screen mode is 16bit! Hmm.

Has anyone noticed that the MUI3.9 SDK is not not installed automatically? There's simply a MUI3.9 folder in SDK: now. Useless until the files are put back in their proper locations.

@ChrisH If you want to compare, only compare it with 0.8.28. The SDL versions have no issues with AGA. Unfortunately my SDL builds all end up being very slow I enabled 2D OpenGL "acceleration" on one of them too, and sdl.use_gl=true just makes it go at about 2 frames per second :) I also tried enabling the graphics filter options, but there were undefined references when linking that I couldn't sort out.

I have just uploaded a newer (or is it older? you decide) version of e-uae-amigfx to OS4Depot (it's currently in the Uploads section).
AMIGFX still has a bug (present in official 0.8.28 too) where AGA only works on 16bit+ screens. I tried fixing that but since I don't understand C much at all, I couldn't fix it.
Nevertheless, it should work with RunInUAE now.

Um.. Yeah you're right, it's the 68k version. Oops. No wonder it crashed and is smaller. I'm gonna grab this new SDK and see if WIP4 is better than the later test version.

No, it's 0.8.29-20080820 (later than WIP4). I do have 0.8.28 compiled now, but it's not any different to the official build so there's no point in uploading it; It isn't any faster.
.... but WHY oh WHY are my SDL builds slower than everyone elses? :) They work, they're just slow. Hmm.
Anyway, new SDK out. Gonna grab that.
As for 0.8.29-WIP4 with AMIGFX, there is a build on rcdrummond.net/uae but it seems to be small and it freezes the system here.

That build is the one I did. It has problems with AGA on certain screens and chooses 640x480 even when 320x256 is available. Just use the official 0.8.28, which seems to work fine in 320x256. The official version of 0.8.28 can't do AGA in non 16bit 640x480 screens either.
Looks like bugs in the source to me, especially since the LEDs always show up with show_leds=true.
@ChrisH
0.8.28 was wiped out when EasyUAE was uploaded. Same filename I believe.
Orgin's reponse was that since there was no passphrase and Richard couldn't be contacted, then it's fair for it to be overwritten.
Personally I think 0.8.28 needs to be kept safe somewhere (if it isn't on Aminet), since you never know if one day his site goes down forever. The source should be kept too (URL manipulation will find it).
Since my own 0.8.29-20080820 seems to be a little buggier, in regards to choosing screenmodes automatically and problems with AGA, i'll attempt compiling 0.8.28 myself, and if it's no more buggy than the official version I will simply replace my -amigfx.lha with 0.8.28 instead (if it's faster than official build), and a link to 0.8.29-20080820 (or perhaps will put it on Aminet?).
