@ChrisH OT: N900 is a beast of mobile PC, not just a phone Even internet browsing is faster on that thing than on Sam440ep. back on topic: It would be great to have QT on AmiCygnix/AmigaOS. Thanks for trying! nexus

@all
It's interesting to read how the Amiga environment appears to "normal" users/developers.
That is a poor guy who is left alone in a foreign and unknown world. I doubt that this port will be finished before 2020 if not also an experienced Amiga developer intensively works in cooperation with that guy.

@ChrisH Haven't had the time to test the latest alpha version. However, the last one i tested was already great Just an idea: How about using the AOS4.1 notification system to let the user know what Game is started? In that case, the window could be started iconified and is only need if you want to switch the starting behaviour for 68k apps. regards, nexus

@Rigo I'd like to have the possibility to choose between the suggested function-name completions with the keyboard. From the documentation it seems that this is not possible? Leaving the keyboard during programming tasks in order to use the mouse is annoying It would be also great if the user could choose a different editor, but i guess this is not possible because of the deeply integration of the editor into CodeBench? Thanks! nexus

@Snuffy
you have to copy the appropriate environment variables (Envarc:Cygnix/) from your old System to your new AOS4.1.1. I suggest also to copy ENVARC:HOME, ENVARC:DISPLAY and ENVARC:USER.

@samo79 Here, on my Sam440ep, Wipeout2097 works now MUCH better with AOS4.1Update1 and its new WarpOSEmu, than ever before. Actually, it works perfectly, as long as u manage to reach the next checkpoint intime There's a system freeze as soon as u lose and your ship explodes. Seems to be a more drastic way of punishing bad players Before update1, i barly could play longer then a few seconds. So, Wipeout works better now. U just are not allowed to lose Would be nice, if Joerg could fix this in a next release regards, nexus

@ChrisH Quote: ChrisH wrote: Not heard of that problem before - the one I fixed was different (Workbench would never start for some people).
I think, i've reported that at amigaworld.net for r1. Quote: Do *other* HD games/programs start OK? If you don't have any other games, then just go to Workbench3's folder in OS4, then into the Utilities folder, and drop the Clock onto RunInUAE. Should start.
yes, the clock works. I need some more time to test other hd-games. Currently, i only have games from AmigaForever2006 on my SAM. Quote: OK, thanks for the feedback. I am guessing you have an old version of DiskImage, but please confirm this by typing this in OS4's Shell & tell me what it says: version devs:diskimage.device
It should be the latest (according to AmiUpdate): version Devs:diskimage.device full diskimage.device 52.46 (27.09.2009) Thanks, nexus

* Hopefully fixed HD installed games not starting for some people. (Please reinstall Workbench 3.1)
Still does not work for me. If u try to start "Another World" from AmigaForever 2006, euae loads os31-workbench and then it tries to start "another world". But then the screen wents black and nothing happens anymore. If u press CTRL-ALT-R, workbench is reloaded. If u then click on the AnotherWorld-icon from within euae, the games starts correctly. Quote: * Now opens an App Window for you to drop games on. Easier than dropping them on it's AmiDock icon!
I prefer AmiDock icon, but as i can see, both ways work Quote: * Improved installer & manual, thanks to user feedback.
U still can't install it, if u haven't moved the DiskimageGUI parts from "devs:dosdrivers/" to "sys:storage/dosdrivers" and if u haven't removed "DiskimageGUI" from WBStartup. Just removing DiskimageGUI via "exchange" does not work here. Then there is the error message (exactly as with r1): "No Disk Present in IDF9" Anyway, good work! Thanks! nexus

PgS 4.1.5.6 for 68K, with JIT disabled in the Compatibility prefs program.
yes. exactly my "fallback" version if the ppc version is not working as expected. but i don't have it listed as jit disabled? why should i?
Yes, for me, also only PgS 4.1.5.6 for 68K works on my SAM440ep. The PPC versions or PgS5 are in no way usable for me. However, I never regret that I bought PgS5, because it's still being developed and I think sooner or later we'll finally see a non-alpha version of PgS5. (EDIT: oh, and by the way, I also got PgS 4.1.5.6 for 68k for free as I bought PgS5 for PPC, if I remember correctly) Meanwhile, i can't complain anyway. PgS 4.1.5.6 for 68k works like a charm and is very fast (much faster than on my former A4000 060/PPC 233/50 MHz). JIT doesn't need to be disabled. PgS4 works extremely fine with JIT enabled. nexus

This Tunenet version works better than the previous versions. However, there are still some annoying bugs 1) If you have an internet radio station in your playlist, which is currently not available (or does not exist at all) and if you click on that url in your playlist, Tunenet freezes and also the entire AmigaOS4.1 (tested on Sam440ep). mplayer reports (instead) on the same url : "No stream found to handle url http:-//radiostation-url/livestream.mp3" 2) Tunenet also freezes the entire system if the url has some superficial parts, like http://some-url/livestream.mp3&superf ... 746528aa6965d045a792bb778 sometimes, these superfluous tokens exist for webradios. Tunenet plays such streams without problems if you remove these superfluous Tokens. Feature Request: Please give us a possiblity to organize the tunes/internet-radio-stations in the playlist. Maybe something like a tree structure: news-station -> local news http:// ... -> european news http:// ... fancy-music http://... etc. Thanks. nexus

I have frequent crashes with tunenet when searching within the list of scanned radio stations. At the moment, i tested some alpha version of tunenet (cant remeber which version, but i will test the latest one soon) and also get crashes during playback (on Peg2/AOS4.1). Some feature request: instead of scanning up to 1000 (random?) radio stations, it would be nice to specify a filter before a scan, like "search for max. 1000 radio stations which match the keywords "rock 'n' roll' (or whatever else). nexus

@joerg really great. OWB ist extremly fast here! One minor thing (which exists since the very ferst OWB version that I tested) can be seen here: http://www.tamar.net/phpBBThere's a news-ticker ('Tamar-Tagesbote') in the upper half of the webpage, which dynamical shows some "news messages" via java-script. Sometimes that news message is 3 lines (instead of two). When that happens, "mouse-over" event on links below the new-ticker destroys the page layout. Refreshing doesn't work corretly. With IBrowse, AWeb, Opera, Firefox this doesn't happen. But all these browsers are much slower than this new OWB release :) greetings, nexus

@ChrisH Wipeout2097 works perfectly on PegasosII with AOS4.1. On Sam440ep, it starts but crashes almost immediatly during a race. Payback-68k and Payback-WOS works here fine with Sam440ep & AmigaOS4.1. (The Joypad-Problems you have, are most like related to Sam's USB drivers. On my Peg2 AmigaInput works far better with my Joypad than on Sam). Oh, and I can't remeber if i installed ever eny patch for Payback Shogo doesn't work at all on PegasosII&AOS4.1 and Sam440ep&AOS4.1 Couldn't test Heretic -- I cannot find my CD A anymore |-( GLQuakeWOS doesn't work with Peg2/Sam GLQuakeAOS4 works (but not with AddOns like 'Malice'). QuakeAOS4 (and QuakeWOS, I think) works fine. Earth2010 works fine on both systems. Foundation works (but the settings window doen't show the "use" or "save" button and therefore, settings cannot be changed). (which games did I miss now?) greetings, nexus
