Re: flphoto M.I.A.

@djrikki

I'm overwriting someone else upload (but he's okay), so I can't enter the passphrase. Speaking of the passphrase I'm against converting it to a password input type because the check isn't realtime and as a consequence if you did a mistake while uploading it then you won't notice until one OS4Depot administrator tells you so. And more over when I'm uploading a program even if someone is behind me and see my passphrase it's not a big deal...

@Severin

I should probably try porting latest flphoto source code. I'll try to see if I can run flphoto on another official supported platform to see if the problem is from the port or in the original source code.

@samo79

Can you elaborate please?

It seems something is holding my flphoto update in the upload queue since Sunday. Is there anything I can do to help its acceptation?

Okay, thank you. In case I can't find it on my backup I'll download it again.

no not yet. It's still the 1.1.6 but I'll look at the 1.1.10 too... I just need to remember where I saved it when I changed harddrive

@All

As written on AmigaWorld:
Quote:
I managed to recompile fltk with its companion libraries (there are three libjpeg, libpng and libz) and now flphoto works again. So I'll probably clean all this and release a new version of both fltk and flphoto relatively soon (though probably not before the end of the next week because of real-life constraints).

could you try to execute "which openurl" in both location to validate you are using the same command?

I don't know why each time I see CBShell written I read "CBS hell"
Anyway Codebench suite is really great and offers many unique features (completion, SVN plugin, etc.) keep up the good work!

As stated on AmigaWorld, the error message is "Bogus virtual array access" (i.e. jpeg error JERR_BAD_VIRTUAL_ACCESS).

Unfortunately I didn't have time to look at it this week-end. I'll try to find some time this evening to quote the exact message.

@alfkil

You would probably want to contact Centaurz he's author of the Winbar docky which obviously update itself quite often.

Now if you can come with a(some) properly written/documented enhancement requests I (or other betatester) can add them to the bugzilla. That's not a promise that it would be implemented but at least it will be recorder there ready for someone with goodwill to implement them.

I'm quite sure that Elwood wasn't saying he was not able to see the page, but rather that he missed the page.

Anyway I'll try to see if this page is crashing my MUIOWB too.

I agree, it's better to have everything in OS4Depot also.

I understand that from user Point Of View it's convenient to have everything on OS4Depot but nonetheless if the software author (for an obscure reason) does not want to see his software on OS4Depot then no one can take the right to upload the software on his behalf. No matter how well-meant the uploader is, he must get the author's approval prior uploading anything anywhere.

@Thematic

No it's not, the file entry states:

Re: How to build a shared/static object/library?

@Raziel

Most of the configure scripts have an option to activate shared/static build of a library. So there is great chance that by only passing the correct option to the configure script you'll end up with a shared object library.

PS: With my current project (which is using an open source library) I have had a problem generating both static and shared library at the same time even if it pretends to support it. So my advise would be to - if you want to generate both - to to it in two passes (one for shared and one for static) rather than in a single one.

@All

Andreas has currently no AOS4 capable machine so he's doing all his work on AOS3 (WinUAE IIRC). *But* his plan is to obtain one (AOS4 machine) relatively quickly and start doing porting his work on it.
I advised him not to make an announcement there before he really has started working on AOS4 explicitly. Currently Andreas is very motivated and his making quick progress. However he's busy on other things too and he just came back to the Amiga a few moment ago (don't know exactly but to my understanding it's counting in weeks, maybe in months but not more). To what I understood he's doing it purely for fun and entertainment and for the challenge.

That said it's a *huge* project. He's taking another approach than I took, this can speed up the first stage (obtaining a working wxBase). When he contacted me I immediately offered my help to him, I pointed him to the bounty too and we discussed some of the difficult points that may arise.
His project is using the very latest source code base which is great because my source code was starting to be a bit out of date now, he has my source code as reference and I'll be as helpful as I can.

EDIT: fixed a typo

Re: USB audio

IIRC USB AUdio would require USB mode isochronous which we don't have yet with Sirion. IIRC there was discussions about it some years ago (with RWO?) and it was not likely to appear in the short term because isochronous mode does not fall very well with the current design of the USB stack

Anyway it would probably be a good thing to have USB audio drivers.

I was suspecting you weren't using the right command-line (which would have explained why it would not find the includes unless you were explicitly state absolute path to them)...

Re: Ringhio

@m3x

AFAIK it's not documented how Ringhio wraps the text. Two possibilities:
- either it's based on character count,
- either it's based on a certain pixel width (which would mean amount of text actually displayed depends on the screen resolution and text size).
