Just tried it, anyone else having problem with uidl? Although my uidl file is intact from 2.6 , it checks it and then begins to download all my 16000 from the beginning! Went back to 2.6 and the same happens! Any ideas anyone plz?

edit: oh well! I decided to bite the bullet, empty my drawers and start getting all my emails anew... :/

Both my NEC and VIA usb cards work fine on my Peg2, so, I suppose, they'd both also work on a Sam, A1 etc.... Also, they were supported before Update 3, albeit at usb 1.1 speeds.

Theoretically, you might be able to install the 68k version of poseidon under OS4.1 and disable Sirion by commenting out the relevant lines in kicklayout. In practice though, I think there's no driver in the 68k version of poseidon that supports Pegasos 2's internal usb controller or a pci card, so, it'd be completely pointless to do that. And openpci couldn't help with that either, so....

@porthan

really? I see.... So, how does it benchmark non existant memory? Where are these results from? What does it benchmark instead of L3 and gives those results? Any idea? Thx!

bppc/603e@330/256mb (70ns)

RAGEMEM v0.37 - compiled 11/06/2010

CPU: 603e 7.4609 @ 0 Mhz
Caches Sizes: L1: 16 KB - L2: none - L3: none
Cache Line: 32

WRITE64: 23 MB/Sec
WRITE: 45 MB/Sec (Tricky)

---> VIDEO BUS <---
READ: 5 MB/Sec
WRITE: 15 MB/Sec

NOTE:
Under morphos 1.4.5 w OS4Emu the results are pretty much the same except of MIPS (522) and VRAM write (22mb/sec).

peg2@1.25, updated results with 0.37:

RAGEMEM v0.37 - compiled 11/06/2010

CPU: Motorola MPC 7447/7457 Apollo 1.1 @ 1266 Mhz

---> VIDEO BUS <---
READ: 49 MB/Sec
WRITE: 221 MB/Sec

EDIT:

I ran ragemem under morphos 2.6 via os4emu and here's some interesting results:

RAGEMEM v0.37 - compiled 11/06/2010

CPU: PowerPC 7447 0.0 @ 1000 Mhz
Caches Sizes: L1: 32 KB - L2: 256 KB - L3: 1 MB
Cache Line: 0

---> CPU <---
MAX MIPS: 3031

---> L1 <---
READ32: 4814 MB/Sec
READ64: 9624 MB/Sec
WRITE32: 4126 MB/Sec
WRITE64: 3212 MB/Sec

---> L2 <---
READ32: 2260 MB/Sec
READ64: 2956 MB/Sec
WRITE32: 2025 MB/Sec
WRITE64: 2566 MB/Sec

---> L3 <---
READ32: 290 MB/Sec
READ64: 300 MB/Sec
WRITE32: 512 MB/Sec
WRITE64: 554 MB/Sec

---> RAM <---
READ32: 244 MB/Sec
READ64: 252 MB/Sec
WRITE32: 468 MB/Sec
WRITE64: 468 MB/Sec
WRITE: 548 MB/Sec (Tricky)

---> VIDEO BUS <---
READ: 49 MB/Sec
WRITE: 220 MB/Sec

As you can see , under morphos L3 cache is recognised properly and there's a big boost to RAM speed (except "tricky" which is significantly slower). The rest are more or less the same, but why isn't L3 cache recognized under OS4? MIPS are much higher under OS4 as well.

there's an updated installer on OS4depot. Afterwards, at least on my peg2/os4.1u2, it works just fine.

@Raziel

I tried 0.35 (both A and B) and the results were pretty much the same between them (A + B) and between 0.34. It didn't crash when it reached the vmem bench, but didn't return any results either. That's on a Peg2 as I said.

edit: I tried with 0.34 again without startup and it worked. So, here's the videomem results:

---> VIDEO BUS <---
READ: 56 MB/Sec
WRITE: 184 MB/Sec

no results with new version even without startup
