@trixie Quote: Currently, if I want to use my Amiga, I have to work with version 4 for 68K, then save the file, load it into PgS 5 for Windows and then export as PDF (version 4's PDF export is very limited). Rather tiresome - I'd prefer to use PgS 5 for OS4 (which I bought some five years ago and which is still less stable and usable than the old PgS4 for 68k). You could just print from PGS4 as a .ps (postcript) file and print as pdf from AmiGS. This is on an Amigaone and OS4.1upd4.

use list command from shell in order to write directory contents to ram:playlist.pls. Load this list inside Playlistconverter and converte it to m3u. You may also want to change filpaths and convert to "window compatible" format as well... Hey!! I'll give that a try. Usually my files are named and numbered in the correct order, so not having a playlist for a whole directory of mp3 files for an audiobook is not a problem. It is just a pain when I have forgotten to delete the partial playlist created when there is a freeze, or dick read error. I will certainly play around with you solution though. Thanks.

@Antique
Please excuse my ignorance (and that's before I speak).
Is this a .m3u file creator. When I rip an audiobook to mp3 using ADRipper it creates such a file, but if there is a problem such as a disk read error, or the A1 freezes, then the .m3u file is only from that point onwards. If this could create .m3u files for a directory of .mp3 files this would be very useful to me.
Anyway PlayListCreator is fine, or m3uCreator, (If that is what it does) would also be a good name.

@Severin Quote: Works fine for me. Have you installed any other contextmenu.cfg files from os4depot or similar? Check the ascii file envarc:contextmenus.cfg to see if it's been modified or corrupted. This is a clean update3 install, with no changes to config files, other than by using the system prefs. As Xenic said this is a commercial audio CD. If I use the workbench/menu then the tracks are displayed with a def_icon aiff icon, but the context menu options don't work. Should I post this on Hyperians blog?

Workbench context menu

I am running OS4.1 upd3 on a A1XE-G3-800.
If I insert an audio cd, and try to use the right mouse button context menu, show all files and display by menu options do not do anything. If I use the Workbench dropdown Window menu, the options do work.
Is this a bug, or is there a prefs setting I need to set?
Previously context menu Snapshot has not always worked, but the workbench icon menu snapshot option always has. So I wonder if this problem is getting worse?

@Origin
Is version 53.32 available yet?
I am using 53.31 from OS4Depot, and when I click a column heading [name/size/date etc] to sort by that column, the headings bar disappears. I just wondered if this is the 'fix' shown on OpenAmiga, and if so is 53.32 available somwhere?

Hava a look at Prefs/workbench and select Screen Title Format/InsertThen select memory (first item in the left window and then select the option you want from under showThis allows you to display Free, Used, Total, or Largest Memory. Also don't forget to include a text name for the variable.

Why not just kick the slimline drive into the dustbin. (Less expensive)

That looks like a useful tool on it's own, seeeing how many .svg graphics are available on the net. A conversion tool for svg to dr2d (and vice versa) would be useful too. I use black and white scans of kanji, converted to dr2d for use in Pagestream. Any dr2d tools would be a big benefit.

Quote: derfs wrote: from what i have read about install issues, and with the new install scripts using python but not much documentation being around, would a bounty for a reaction based installation utility be worthwhile?
something where devs can use a GUI front-end to just say these are the files, this is where to put them, it then puts it all in one archive, and when executed runs installer.
it would always use unarc, so protection bits would not be lost, it would always check if files exist already and check file versions are correct before installing, and so on.
you tell me, would this be useful to anyone making or running applications? would there be certain extras that would have to be included to make it worthwhile?
what does everyone think?
Would it not be possible to adapt something like Cranu , to generate an install script when creating an archive, as an option if course. So maybe Peter Gordon is the guy to speak to.

I installed update 3, and set up the internet options, and connected to the internet no problem. However this morning after effectivly a hard boot, I cannot connect from update3.
I have booted from my update2 partition, and can connect just fine. Can anyone tell me what files to copy across to my update3 partition to allow me to connect to tinternet.
