Ken can you draw tiffany skin in blue gem instead of green?
In that way you could propose it as AROS default theme
Very nicer than default one

Tiffany is included in 4 colors (including blue) -- however, AfA themes aren't compatible with AROS.

Thanks -- that's my favorite one too.

PNG was NOT and is NOT planned to be the icon standard on THIS system ...

I painted "DualPNG" icons, not PNG icons. Mine were two- state images (just like the original AOS icons).

They were never intended to be a new standard for OS4 -- they were intended to be a new standard for OS3!

OS4 users already had Mason's icons -- we didn't have anything!

Now we do!

what's the problem?

No problem, per se. I just have a tendency to get carried away and "burn" up a whole lot of time on this stuff!

I spent just about every free moment the first half of 2007 on the DualPNG stuff -- I could easily see doing the same thing here.

@orgin

The idea of Scalable icons interests me (big surprise there).

I've been playing around with a program called Inkscape to see what's possible with svg images. So far, the images are a little more "cartoony" than I'd like, but I've only just started.

Having said that, based on past experience, I'm not sure how much time I want to burn on this.

@padrino

I uploaded the icons to Aminet a few weeks ago and retired the website (at least as far as icons go).

I updated the archive -- painted a complete set of images & tweaked the palette a bit.

Interesting painting with only 8 colors (compared to what I'm used to).

MUI Gadgets . . . (Updated)
Illusionist
Illusionist

I've tried several times to create gadgets for MUI, but the palette has always kicked my butt!

I've tried using other people's images as templates, but that hasn't helped.

I've searched the web for documentation to no avail. I didn't see anything in the developer archive either.

Does anyone have ANY (successful) experience painting MUI gadgets?

My solution (for now) is to limit myself to the 8 colors that I've been able to get MUI to display correctly (maybe that's all MUI can do?).

Anyway -- I've created a set of MUI arrow gadgets as a companion to the "skins" that are included in the AfA archive. Presumably these should also work with OS4.

Not much new this time (25 icons) -- but I've combined all the various v4 "updates" into one archive.

Download complete v4 archive. (Includes the 25 new/updated ones)

Don't use any information from him! It seems he created is own icon format, of course incompatible to the AmigaOS one, which doesn't and can't work with anything else.

DualPNG works on ALL Amiga systems (3.x, 4.x, AROS, and MOS).

@nubechecorre

Only thing that I can think is that the system doesn't like the DualPNG format for this icon.

Try converting the drawer to OS4 format.

Unfortunately, I deleted the OS4 version of the iconset without thinking (that Padrino converted) when I updated the archive recently.

Why don't create a skin for DVPlayer ?

Those are both OS4-only apps, which makes it difficult. Maybe if/when I ever get an OS4 machine.

Playing YouTube videos on 68k
Illusionist
Illusionist

Just for fun, I thought I see if I could download & play YouTube videos using only tools available for 68k.

Turned out to be pretty simple.

I started with the getVideo utility from Aminet and then downloaded the latest verion of ffmpeg (which can convert flv files to various formats).

Basically, I just set up getVideo as descibed in the instructions (you'll end up with a "getVideo" menu option in IBrowse). Then use ffmpeg to convert them to mpeg format (which I view with Frogger)

Syntax for converting flv files with ffmeg:

ffmpeg -i source.flv result.mpeg

OR

ffmpeg -i source.flv -sameq result.mpeg

The first way creates a very small version - and the second creates a much larger/better quality version.

I "repainted" icons for a couple of OS4 specific apps -- mainly to clean them up a bit and size them properly to match with Mason's stuff.

VERY, VERY cool!

Maybe a powerful "classic" platform will encourage more 68k ports. I'd STILL like to see MPlayer for 68k (or DVPlayer!).
