@djrikki Imho for the "clean" picture done by SREC, we need to wait x1000. In that case i think we can create fast videos without cameras. For now or "camera" which show as it should but with bad quality, or good quality by srec, which jumping and looks sluggish :) Or some HW devices which can grab video in good quality from amigas.

@Crhis Still, os4depot with us for 6 years long already, and its big base of os4 files. It already have 2740 files, while aminet have only have only 1350 files. So compare os4depot with kas1efiles.com its way too much. If os4depot will die some day, for sure we will loose many-many files.
Of course, i also have something what i dislike on os4depot, and what will not changes by wish of admins, but, its still better than aminet just because of snapshots, comments, passphrase, speed up updates and so on. Today (like we it or not), os4depot is the best place for os4 files, and , while we can say what is defacto and what is shmakto, almost all new os4 users use os4depot only, and just do not know anymore what is aminet is it.
I really see no point why you have so strong opinion about os4depot for now, but its of course your wish. Its just a bit bad, that users all the time loose your software, which are good (all those libs, netsurfs, plugins and such).

@alfkil
We always can add to bounty that phrase: "author should provide his latest sources", and when you will feel that you tired and not in interest to work on it, or just want to join force with someone else, then code will help a lot. Later anyone can grab your sources, and works with it. That of course a bit suck will be, but still, better than nothing.

@cha05e90 Very possible that mr2 and tonyw not have that library, and while for one it give exit on the begining, for other one it start by some luck, and crashes on text input. Because tonyw have betatester system, i think he have some new additional checking in os4, and because of it it "exit" for him, but not that checking for mr2 (public release of OS), and programm starts, and then later it give crash.
@mr2, tonyw Try plz to install reqtools.library from os4depot.
@328gts When i remove reqtools.library fromlibs: , i have the same crashlog as you send me. So, install it from os4depot.
There is bad exit from programm then while some library not presend. I think we need add window message which will say "you dont have that library" and do correct exit.

@djrikki Media section looks nice. But imho a bit too much about past, and to small about present. I.e. 3 videos about present, and tons of videos of old games, which imho a bit too much. But progress are here, soon it will be pretty nice site which we can show for newbes :) (and not the last think here to avoid too much past/old stuff, its because newbes mostly not in interest about past)

@mr2 Quote: Fontsettings window doesnt open at all (from the menu and from Attributes window). When I change GUI font (in settings) to bigger one, AmiFIG is unable to draw windows but when I change GUI font to smaller one, Fontsettings window appears and I can choose font. Unfortunately, immediate guru when trying to type text.
Gm. Sounds strange .. But send me new crashlog, maybe it will show something. @tonyw Quote: Since the binary on OS4Depot was unstripped, all the debug info was in it anyway. The crashlog showed a null pointer reference and named the function and its offset. I'll try the new version and see what happens.
But because it was compiled without -g , that offsets not give me much (i cant use addr2line, for see where exactly bug happens). But with new binary, i can do that (if you will send me crash log). The libraryes which are used by amifig are that ones: locale.library dos.library asl.library layers.library intuition.library graphics.library gadtools.library diskfont.library reqtools.library utility.library datatypes.library icon.library workbench.library For example on morphos, NULL pointer bug offten happens when library are not present. But imho, all those libraryes are default os4 setup ? And in code (as i can see) we have all those "ifs" which check if library was opens or not.. Maybe for you some library not present, and amifig tryes to exit and give bugs.. Anyway, send me a new crashlog. ps. I send you PM about LodePaint.

@Chris That a bit strange, because you support aminet, amiupdate, write news here, but not os4depot. Like os4depot its something evil. Anyway, its not big problem of course, just many active os4 users use today os4depot only. For example these developers who still love aminet, upload it to 3 place: their sites, aminet and os4depot (as for example salas00 do). You as developer imho know that when you refuse some popular file-depo, you only limited user base in end ..
But in general its no big problem, i can myself upload your files if you doesnt mind :)
Btw, maybe new version of netsurf are on the way too ?:)

Hm, looks like it have latest catalog. Can you compare it byself (i.e. its the same what you have, or different). If its the same, then some bugs with catalogs are here again. I remember that we fix one bug, which was in AmiFIG_Cat.c file , there was filed "screen mode" with symbol "t" at the end, so, we remove it , and maybe that cause a problem, dunno ..

@MickJT As afxgroup say its work in progress. So, stay tuned, its not something for end-usage for now. I just by some luck noticed some update on project page, and was in interest about :)
But yes, i pretty want to compile few projects to see the differences :) But even by that "bench" test, you can see visually big difference. Not sure that you will noticed it very much with UAE (because imho there is everything about CPU), but we will see :) But benchmarks are ultra good :)
@afxgroup I think that those SW/HWsurfaces speedup not mean opengl support here at all ? (tryed lodepaint , and no differences). I also check bench.c code, and yep, there is no relys to sdl_opengl. Maybe you can explain in brief, what the differences between SWSRUFACE and HWSURFACE from programming point of view ? (i mean what happenes with OS when you set SWSURFACE, and how it operate with memory/which functions are used from which libraryes of OS, and what happenes if you choice HWSURFACE)

@afxgroup
Trying to compile some stuff (just add on linking stage to compile it with shared SDL), and looks like it freezes not only in the SWSURFACE, but also and with HWSURFACE as well.

@afxgroup I build that version right now, and benchmarks are VERY GOOD ! Also i see your benchmarks, and you 100% right, it the same BIG difference for me. Very cool. For example, if we will compare with MORPHOSs SDL speed for now on the same hardware (in uppear post), and that one which i have for now:
320x240 320x240 640x480 640x480
software hardware software hardware
Slow points (frames/sec): 1142.86 222.222 380.952 57.971
Fast points (frames/sec): 1242.72 118.738 315.271 29.8264
Rect fill (rects/sec): 120471 120471 47627.9 58514.3
32x32 blits (blits/sec): 170667 512000 163840 455111
That mean, that OS4 version for now are faster than morphos ones in 300% in SW mode, and for example in 32x32 blits 640x480 in HW it also faster in 2 times for now ! I even cab see the differences beetwen old SDL and new one visually while Bench test are works. I should to say that is what i call "radical speedup" ! Very good.

@afxgroup
Just to avoid creating of new thread about the same, i bring that one.
As i see you start to works on SDL again, and your latest update (r42) was about adding a preliminary version of p96WritePixelArray replacement. I check the differences, and found that before BltBitMapRastPort() functions was used. And that cause a bit of interest from me : what fucntions are faster ? As far as i remember, in last time we all blame p96 pretty much (bottlneck, old, bad designed), and that make me curios what are better: that BltBitMapRastPort from graphics.library, or that p96WritePixelArray from p96 ? I check the docs, but there is nothing about which one are better or faster .. Maybe you already do some tests with it and can say about it more ?

@ALL
New version in upload query on os4 depot. Remember that almost all of work done by Yannick, i only add mouse wheel-support and fix few little typos. Also xenic help pretty much (As well as trixie and saimo79 and all others :) )
So, new since last release:
General ones:
-- Corrected misinterpretation of relative coordinates, -- Corrected handling of default stroke colors -- Conversion of inkscape/sodipodi figures is now ok -- gradient fill is converted to black -- Added menu entry for importing SVG through svg2fig -- Added free hand drawing mode for polyline/polygon/spline using the middle mouse button) -- Renamed correctly middle/right mouse button function pointers -- Added fields in preference for SVG import and free hand drawing and upped up revision -- Created temporary missCat.h file to store message strings missing from catalog -- Added key action for freehand drawing (Left ALT) -- Added panning (CTRL + Left mouse button) -- Started work for speed improvment in AA mode. Right now if only one part of the display is corrupted, it is redrawn without AA (a hit on R refreshs the whole display) -- Improved freehand drawing behaviour, distance between points is the relative to zooming factor -- removal of drawing artifacts on border of display while panning with AA enabled -- Correction for line drawing corruption especially when zooming in and out -- Better scrolling for low speed display -- Tuned a bit pan and free hand drawing feature behaviour -- Other small bug-fixes
AOS4 related changes:
-- Reworked totally zoom window, works ok on OS4 now and added zoom factor gadget. -- Added support of mouse-wheel for zoom in/out (for now, it works while active those windowses: attribute, toolbar, mode, font, zoom). -- Fixed all the problems with loosing of decorations on custom screen, now, with clonning or when you choice any mode, it will have the same look as your WB. Also i compile that version with including debug information (for better bugs-catching), so, at this moment binary a bit huge. But all who have any bugs, can now send me GR outputs via PM and i will check where bugs is happenes.
Enjoy !
@samo79 there is now icon for directory and latest catalogs (i hope:) )

@tonyw
Nope, i not know that. For now it works for everyone except mr2 (when he trying to type a text), and for 328gts (when he just trying to run it). How it crashes for you, and did you have all latest stuff (os4.1update2, last libs and as usual) ? Did you delete old prefs, install all in new directory and so on ? It crashes for you from first run, or while you use program ?
I will build today a new version, with debug info, so, you can send me your crashlog too.
Or maybe you even can check the code on SF, and found where your NULL pointer bug happens ?
ps. did you fix your problems with lodepaint ? (i answer you in the mail that you need update your SDL library).

In AmiFig LUA only using for 2 scripts (which spawn 2 graphical interfaces, which just GUI for fig2dev programm). So, if you can write such interface on Reaction, then will be pretty cool.
For now i not include any LUA scripts to aos4 version, because it possible to do all manually. But its a bit suck of course, and better to have 2 reaction based replacements (or maybe even AREXX scripts).

There some problems with making wheel-zoom-in-out working while main area are active, but it works when other windowses are active. I think we should release it even like that because of all other fixes and alt (tomorrow)
