Trying to port and still have the crashes all the time on AHI related stuff. I trying to send mail to Ian, but it was rejected by spam-bot looks like, so i ask him about help on AW thread, lets hope he can help.

I think you are right. From other side, when they (core devs) adapt os for x1000/sam460, they for sure catch many bugs which they fixed for all versions of os at all. So in general i hope that new "update" should be soon (but i can be wrong of course :) )

We as usual can only speculating, but i think that everything now on the adaptation, and work on SMP are not started. Maybe few fixed there and there (like some new addons to ASL req and alt), and of course new drivers by Hanz are major change(for which i think also some changes in OS was done by core-team, to make it better by performance). Speed tests of quake2 in SW rendering show pretty good speed of drivers, and we can hope already that 3D which will works over than new drivers will fast and good.

Yeah. I also in hope that new shell will at last released. Not that KCON are too bad, but i just in high interest what it will be (because of 3 years of developing). Tons of features and such (i hope:) ).

I think that with x1000, will be release of stable FF :) That for sure can attract new blood. But from other side, i heard somethere (again speculation), just Trevor say that x1000 oriented on the old freaks, and not on new blood (but i can be wrong of course).

Yep. Tested it only now and you right. But its not looks like endian issues, or wrong byte swapping, it looks like just something wrong (like rendering image to 256cols, and give it a bit wrong palette) Also it loads image in not original size (but imho should ?).

That how it looks for me:

Resized Image.

At right side original (jpg) by multiview, and on left how it opens by default (with wrong size, and fucked colors).

Btw, for me also when i press on "picture" button, the window for it hides over the main one. The same for you ?

OpenGL2.0 is 100% real (by mesa) and even ogl3.0 with all that shaders stuff. For DirectX12 - will it opensource ? As i know, directx12 also will be in support by Gallium (which will be for us later with mesa), so maybe even directx idea not that unbeliveble. More is better :)

With MUI4 i think we only can be in hope about some Zune on aros improvements and then porting it to os4 (core team for sure will not do that).

For skype there is also some 3d party porters can do the work imho later.

But others up to core team, and sounds pretty real :)

I contact with him 2 days ago (because in last 7-8 weeks not make any updates), and he say that he in "busy by works and stuff" state :) Anyway he add in last day some more stuff. In others (layers and such) i forget to ask (will do it later).

The main point its do everything right. The whole world not want to have slow OpenGL. What we talk about all in all, you think that OpenGL only for gaming ? (pfff). What about that sucking LodePaint which works over OpenGL, and because of slow realisation of OpenGL, only ppls with 1ghz can use it "more or less fine" (withj jerkenes and slownes).

And why you think that if you not want modern games on os4, all the other users don't want it too ?

Personally, more of it, i should say, that if there will be not normal opengl realisation in next year-two (maximum), many of us for sure will jump to morphos or whatever (and there is not need answer like: do it right now, i hope we all understand what i mean here).

It not about me only. Its about everyone. Everyone want to have OS , which modern and still amigaos, but not os for the rare freaks only.

Did you see how many os4 users like to play in SuperTuxKart on os4 ? And how all they in sad mood that our opengl is slow to handly it properly on os4 ?

Did you want to give for whole world (and for newbes, which only can help to growup OS and life of os) the opinion that os4 have the wors possible opengl realisation by speed ?

Did you know, that many games from some porters still on ours hdd, just becayse releasing it with current-slow opengl realisation, it only show the Os4-opengl weakness, and because of it, users can't play in it (but they want, just check the threads about games here).

Did you want to have OS4 where users can plays at all in that sucking Quake3 (At least) at normal resolutions with normal FPS ? Not ? Check the all the threads on all the amiga related forums. Almost all the "plain users" want to have better framerate, because it not about benchmarks even, it about just visually jerkenes which detectable by eyes.

Did you know how many authors of many modern opengl games, when i contact with them in trying to speedup one port on another was in surprise that on 1ghz of cpu, our opengl give such slow results ?


All that sounds pretty strange for me, hope you not os4 devloper who say for others that "opengl not need it for us".

If we will think in a way "no need this, enoug of this", we will have:

-- primitive WB (because not need to include Filer, because we can use total comander on win32).

-- primitve OpenGL (because we not play in games on os4, because we plays on win32 and consoles)

-- primitve decorations (for what, if i will need good looking stuff, i will use windows with some unbeliveble themes)

-- not any ports (for what, aos4 only own the world, and it only native and true os, but all those ports we can plays on win32 and linux)

-- we not need new drivers for HD cards (hanz should stop to works on it, because for what, we already have drivers for radeon9250. enough already , yeah!:) ).

-- no ports of any linux libs. That is linux, if we want linux, we can use linux.

and so on, and so on.

Why i say about "competitor does it better", its just because its almost the same OS, on absolutly the same harware. And it show pretty clean, that our opengl slow in 2 (!) times. Its 100%. Its not about "some fps". I of course will be in silence, if difference will be only a few fps, but there is in 2 times difference. That bad.

I just hope you answer too fast, without thinking about (just hope:) )

Its even not about working on opengl right now by you, it just "wish-list", and even in wish list, some one say "we not need normal opengl. our slow realisation are cool".

Strange and pitty.

Its not only one problem :) For example when i iconify latest tunenet to icon, and then swith it back from icon, it almost all the time lockup and give a crash.

I write to Bean message about yesterday, but for now no answer.

Build the last version of minigl/mglut libs, hard-reset reboot , test - the same.
Then put debug version of latest libs, hard-reset reboot, test, the same, but spawn a GR, with such stacktrace:

I specially not setup full-screen, because i like windowses. In full screen it will be even a bit faster. Also SDL version of EUEA have just key combo for swith beetwen window and full-screen (i.e. that is no problem of course). Anyway, for me personally all that oldshcool stuff make no sense anymore. Just a few games/demos one time in few months :)

Yep, that what i have too :( But will try right now to build latest one from svn. Are you sure that on Hanz page you can download SVN version ? On his page you can download only 2.1 (old) version, while SVN one need to compile byself.

That pretty cool, but sadly for me it again give grey screen on start and memory error by memguard. One time i catch the GR on start, which point on mglut.library. Can you please upload somethere your minigl.library and mglut.library ? (just want to be sure that problem is not in the my libs)

Found little bug: when you choice in attach any app, app looks like already in "pause" mode (but you not press start , so imho should be not?). And if you exit from debugger (without pressing start button on attached process), debugger quits fine, but app which was attached, start to be in "pause" state.

Or, if you for example attach the app, then press start, works with it, then press Pause , and after that pressing Kill, it again still in pause state.

Looks like you just forget to "unpause" for "kill" and for "exit" from or kind ?

That good that RunInUAE can do that too. But sometimes better to have only 2 scripts in the system at all. Dunno of course how much runinuae do, but as i remember from my tests it add more than 2 files ?

Yeah , problem solved. Now everything loads and can be seen when i compile with -gstabs. I also compile supertuxkart with -g options, and it also loads fine , but i cant see of course in BP any fucntions, but i can see these 2:

and in the console:

so its still trying to parse something even with -g ?

Will do more heavy tests for now, and write you back :)

ps. "attach" mode indeed very important and usable (i not think about how nasty is it before).
