@Severin
I have just run both versions, but as Andy said you need to delete, or rename the prefs file first. Set up your display and save the new prefs.

@tldaley
I have made all of my OS4 CDs using FryingPan and all the ones that could boot did boot ok.
Ciao, Trev Daley.
Is that with just writing a previously created iso using frying Pan, such as the OS4Final CD, or actually creating a bootable isofrom scratch?.

In the color list you can also change some attributes of one color or create a new one, if you click on change or new a new window open with all the characteristics of that color, there is a color weel a transparent slider, R,G,B sliders etc. it's this window that doesn't work for me.
Regards, Paolo
On loading that window and selecting edit, I can:-
1. Move the point around the colour wheel, and the RGB sliders move accordingly.
2. Move the Value slider up and down, and the number in the slider changes accordingly.
3. Change the hue and saturation values, and the RGB sliders change.
4. Select either RGB or CMYK, and the number of sliders and values change.
5. Move the Opacity slider up and down, and the number in the slider changes accordingly.
6. Move the R,G, & B sliders individually, and the number in the slider changes accordingly.
There is also a colour box which doesn't change, if you select OK, the colour displayed in the colour list changes and if you re-select edit the colour box displays the new amended colour. I am not sure if the colour box was updated in real time on the A1200, but certainly it is only updated on OS4Final once you have accepted your changes.

@joerg No idea if stormscreenmanager uses it, but for most Haage&Partner software make sure you have the AmigaOS4 wizard.library from http://software.alinea-computer.de/seiten/downloads_uk.php installed and not an old m68k version.Thanks for that, but I already have that to run Amigawriter in the first place. It seems that Amigawriter only uses stormscreenmanager to retarget to another screen. I will have to see if I can use an MUI screen, or create one in screen prefs and see if it will use that.

I used it much in the past, actually on OS4, the only probs that I have it's in the edit color window, I am bot able to change the colors, and the sliders doesnt work. I ask If the above work for you?
Thanks, Paolo
Do you mean the color tab in the object attributes menu.
I have just selected a line, clicked edit on the pen colour, and up came a colour list window. I can drag the scroll bar on the right up and down to change the colours available in the window, and select one to change the colour of the line. The change only takes effect when I have selected OK on the colour list, and also on the object attributes window.
I hope thats what you meant. I will try to spend some more time testing, after work tomorrow.

@Swoop I love DrawStudio, I guess it's simplistic views belie it's true ablilities. I used this program to design (fairly simplistic) my airconditioning needs for my house, when I could not do anything similar on my PEECEEs.
I truly welcome it's return, a nice facelift to use AISS would be fantastic.
ace Unfortunatly the developers left the Amiga market, and as far as I understand it they have re-used some of their code in other software, which means they can't release DrawStudio into the public domain.

I wonder if anyone has managed to get the stormscreen manager working under OS4 Final.
I have Amigawriter installed and it works running on workbench, but if I want to run it on it'e own screen I have to put stormscreenmanager in wbstartup. at which point I get a guru, sorry Grim Reaper.
I have tried blacklisting it but that doesn't seem to have any effect, and I still get a visit from the grim reaper.

Drawstudio 2.0 works brilliantly under OS4 Final. I have just set it up on Amidock, and the only thing I had to do was delete the old prefs file, and save the prefs once the program had loaded. I had it running on update#3, but it displayed wrong under update#4, and I couldn't use my old projects. But, under OS4Final it run's OK. I have only had about 15mins playing with it, but it seems to be perfeectly alright. One project I had used .dr2d files of some kanji, and I printed them out as a bitmap, and also exported them as postscript to my printer, and both printed correctly. The postscript export was really fast as well. Another well done to the OS4 Team

Sorry I know this is a dumb question, but there is a new mixer in the contrib/AHI drawer on the OS4Final CD.
I have done a search on AW, and used 'find' on my A1, but I can't for the life of me remember where it goes.
The read me say's it is now a commodity so do I put it in utilities/comodities? Or, do I put it in WBStartup?
Very sorry for the dumb questions.

You are right. The .iso gets stuck at 4.29496 GB.
So where can I down load your DVD burning tool?
I agree with that sentiment, is it in a useable form, and is it available anywhere?

@TrevorDick Hi trevor do a search on the RS components site. They call it a keyboard/monitor sharer switch. I did a search for data transfer switch and scrolled down. The link to the product is too long to link to, in these forums, but you should be able to find it OK. Hope that helps.

@TrevorDick
The problem with using a kvm on a classic/A1 or PC combination, is that the classic does not provide enough power to use the key combination switch to change systems. If you are on a pc or the A1 you can switch to the classic, but not the other way round.
I actually use a manual data transfer switch, which is for keyboard and monitor only, and has only two selections. I bought it from my local computer shops cheapy bin.
On the back are six connectors, a keyboard and monitor connection from each computer and two for connecting the actual keyboard and monitor. On the front is a two way switch for selecting the required computer.

@Valiant Quote:- I would like to be able to put my SiL card back in the A1, but I already have Catweasel, SCSI, and VIA USB cards populating all the slots. Which brings up another question--if I were to get the fix done and could remove the USB card, would there still be any advantage to using a SiL IDE card?
I use an external powered usb hub instead of a usb card, and my usb works perfectly through that.You could free up one of your pci slots the same way.

@BobW
Did you copy across your interface file from update#4?
I recreated on os4final using prefs/internet.
name = internet device driver = DEVS:Networks/eth3com.device
selected - try dynamic configuration (DHCP) selected - default IP packet size.
Also, I had one hell of a job getting two wireless devices to work on the router.
I have a desktop PC, my A1, and a HP photosmart 2710 connected direct to the router, and my laptop connected wirelessly. The HP printer is an all-in-one network printer with a wireless adapter built in, and before I got the router my laptop printed wirelessly via that printer.
I won the printer in the raffle at BigBash4, and it was that which encouraged me to set up the router.
With the printer and the laptop connected wirelessly to the router the connection kept dropping and I had to reset the router to get the connection back. After several days phoneing the help line (based in Canada) and not really solving the problem, I had for thr umpteenth time uninstalled and was reinstalling the printer drivers, and configuring its connection (HP's own wizard not my expertise) when I was told there was a problem and I needed to connect the printer via a cable which would be removed later once my printer was configured. I decided to take the easy option and leave the printer connected direct. Since then my network has been rock solid. I assune the problem is to do with the HP network drivers conflicting either with the router, or the laptop. Anyway mu current setup works so I am leaving well alone.

Are you using DHCP or did you use a static IP? DHCP should provide the default router.
I'd also be interested to know what the firmware version is for your router. You can find out by going into the web interface at http:// 192.168.0.1 Sorry about not getting back to you sooner!! I use DHCP, and from the router itself the firmware is version 2.09, dated mon, 02 jan 2006, the subnet is 255.255.255.0, and DHCP server is enabled. Hope that helps.

I have a d-link624 router and it works fine with OS4Final.
I had to set up an interface using the eth3com device in prefs/internet. I also set up a host as 192.168.0.1 router router, and an entry under name resoloution of 192.168.0.1.
My A1 is wire connected to the Dlink to port lan1, I have no problems whatsoever.
I have not the technical expertise to give you any other help, except that your set up works for me.
I wonder if you have some settings that were required for the wireless card and not for direct link.

@Zettmaster
First off, I know nothing about programming, or interpreting crash logs, but....
All four crashlogs are crashing on the Hunk kicklayout file, and the counter special register.
When trying to install OS4Final from the install CD my booting froze at the hunk.library.kmod. I had to restart and the next try my system booted from the CD.
I think a devoloper needs to check out the hunk.library.kmod.
