@ClipGrab Well Done. This is really great to have! IMHO nominated as one of the most useful tools 2013 However, there are some "bugs"/missing functionallity: 1) target path: Somehow inconsistent: Try to set path e.g. to "/dh1", grab a clip, donnot enter a name for the clip (just press O.k. in native file requester). If you reopen ClipGrab your path is gone... 2) target path/Browse: The "Browse..." button opens filerequester, but given path isn't equal to the one in the string gadget 3) Clipboard functionallity doesn't work for me 4) Once again, messages given by Rhingo are displaying wrong characters. "ä","Ä","ü","Ö",... are replaced by some weired characters. Seems, once Qt strings are passed to AmigaOS (either menus, Rhingo, etc...) there is a chartable conversion problem.Hower, these are just some minor issues... (BTW issue no.2 also happens for iBatch ) regards Gero

Quote: I tried to obey to Scott's resume and tried to build at least some simple demo apps from the Qt archive. But, sadly, I can't seem to get anything builded. 1. There's no "ppc-amigaos-c++"/"ppc-amigaos-gcc" in my SDK. SOLVED by making appropiate soft links from "gcc" and "c++". 2. One after another "ld ..." from gmake fails, because it can't find something, first: "-lfreetype". SOLVED by downloading and installing the "libfreetype.lha" from OS4Depot. 3. Can't find "-lfontconfig", "-liconv", ... Huh? And that is exactly the point, why we need a step-by-step dummy guide on howto...

@alfkill Thanx, I'll check... Where is "gmake" ? What does it do?
@zzd10h Maybe we did not do the same for "syncinc" qOrganizer? This is what I did:
1) Settings->FTP->Activate (and enter Server Infos/Data) 2) 2 more buttons appear (Upload + Download) 3) Enter some Data -> hit upload => message: "finished uploading" => a ".qOrganizer" directory can be found on ftp server including different subdirs and qOrganizer.db! 4) If I close the Program I get this: => message: "Unable to write schedule file" => message: "Unable to write To-Do list file" => message: "Unable to write.... file" (and so on) 5) When restarting qOrganizer, everything seems to be fine, however. Also closing the program works perfectly 6) hit download, I get an error message: => "File could not be downloaded. Listing directory failed.... no such file or directory.
How exactly are you syncing?

@alfkil a good starting point, but how do you set up this one on Amiga? What we need is a tutorial on a) how to set up Dev Environment on AOS 4.1 b) infos on how to deal with Amiga specific things (if there are any?) c) infos on how to cope/workaround things which donnot work on Amiga d) infos on what qtlibs etc. we cannot use e) a small (linked ?) programming workshop on C++ including little Qt example @zzd10h Printing: Works now... Quote: Printing: I used native Amiga Font rendering. If you use default option (qt based font rendering), printout is great! I donnot have GRIM Reaper, when printing, all fine! FTP: I'll give details later, but I am saving as txt file. In settings I chose ftp, therefore I donnot get SQL Buttons, I do get ftp upload and ftp download buttons. But I'll try SQLite syncing... Menus: A bit annoying, when using native Menus, German "Umlauts" like ä,ü,ö,... will be replaced by some crippled characters. Guess, this is a localisation problem to be solved by alfkil... I'll report back later! regards Gero

QOrganizer still got some Problems, though (See my commonsense above). What about a descent tutorial?
E.g. I do a bit of hollywood and AmiBlitz, I also have some knowledge in Turbo Pascal and VisualBasic. What language are using for Qt? C++ ? A tutorial on how to write a simple Amiga based Qt App would convince me to start programming.

When using toolbar icons, do we have to use 64x64? Overall, I think in the Long Term it is better to stay close to OS4 look, regardless wether qt Images and skins are nice or not.

@zzd10h Thanx, I'll give it a try.
Printing: see above = solved / native fonts problem
ftp: would be important to me, strange though, that qOrganizer doesn't save, after you uploaded via ftp.
@tommysammy / zzd10h Icons look great, what about toolbar Icons in Amiga Style? I tried to exchange Icons in Images drawer. But that doesn't have an effect. Maybe they are completely integrated during compiling. However, if you are interested, I'll send you the needed AISS Icons...

Quote: Also all the menu shortcuts are RAmiga-A! (in English, not sure if this is the same in German) Yes, they are except File/Open (A-Y), File/Quit (A-Q) and File/Print (A-D) => File/Print = Datei/Drucken => A-D seems logic there. Quote: Well it generates a pdf or ps file. But instead of letters I have a black rectangle. I'll investigate on that, might be font related? EDIT: Printing: I used native Amiga Font rendering. If you use default option (qt based font rendering), printout is great! I donnot have GRIM Reaper, when printing, all fine! I am using zzd10h version... Sound: Maybe Ringo could work around that? There might be another workaround?

@zzd10h / qOrganizer Really great. qOrganizer is a really usable tool. And runs very well on my X1000. It is already used as to do list! I am looking at replacing my MS Outlook with it. Here are some problems I encountered. Some problems also occur in the WindowsXP Version (marked with a "*"): Quote: When using native AOS Menu german "Umlaute" (ö,ä,ü,ß) are not shown correctly Reminder works with Ringo and own Messagewindow BUT doesn't play sound Debugwindow should be closed in final release SQLite and MySQL buttons do work!? Haven't tested further When hitting the print button, he asks for etc: and usr: -> if you assign it to ram: it works printing doesn't work (unimportant for me though...) all scrollbars are positioned in the middle, wouldn't it be better to position them on the very right and top side? (e.g. small window/tasklist)* Upload to ftp works, but after that qOrganizer comes with messages, that it cannot save things Downloading from ftp server doesn't work, seems to be a different directory structure qOrganizer expects* Translation is only partwise german? Dates are in English, whereas Months inside the calendar widget are German (see screenshot) Printing doesn't work Tray Icon looks ugly on AOS 4
Everything was tested against the Windows Version. One more question: could qOrganizer be compiled for Android/Winmobile/iOS or any other mobile OS? @mods/all Wouldn't it be better, to establish a new thread for every qtPort? I am feeling a bit offtoppic here. Thanx for porting!

@Chris Siberia is working as well on OS4 as on Win. Thanx. However Calendar and Language issue still remains, which makes it unuseable up to now.
@alfkil Did not try new version of Qt upto now, but compared to last version it is really really fast on my X1000 (guess it is also usable on a SAM440). Very well done! A few issues though:
1) Always have to start a qt program, waiting for "missing blabla.so" alert. Enter "assign SOBJS: qt:lib ADD" into a shell... and it runs. Seems the assign inside user-startup doesn't do its job like it is supposed to. 2) as I always have "missing opengl" message, I switched to "native painting". Guess I have to wait for Warp3D on X1000? 3) Inside dropdown cycle gadgets/comboboxes I cannot grab scrollbar and scroll...
Really great work!

@Chris / siberia
I just installed Siberia on Windows XP, cannot get a calendar either... while installing it also asks me for my prefered language. I put in german, which then launches a german install procedure. The programm itself is spanish. And I cannot see any place to set it to english or german. I cannot figure out, how to get a google calendar either on the windows version. So I guess it will be the same on the AOS4 Version. Next I'll try OS4 Version... stay tuned, and thanks.

@Chris It is not that much about Calendar, it is more about a simple ToDo List! However Calendar would also be appreciated!

Porting Idea: Organizer/ToDo List/Reminder I need a tool similar to Outlook (without email support). Perfectly it could synchronize with mobile devices... However, just my dream... but urgently needed is a ToDo List + Reminder integrated commodity or into user-startup. Found these two: http://qt-apps.org/content/show.php/Notes%2BTasks?content=92897and even better: http://qt-apps.org/content/show.php/qOrganizer?content=61219Maybe these ones could be enhanced to a little option for saving a textfile which can be scanned during user-startup... Thanx a lot and regards Gero Birkenfeld

It is responsive and good for a while on my X1000, but using 4 or more Tabs it stalls for 2 minutes or more on some pages! I rather use OWBMUI which runs fine all the way through...
