Name your price (0€ or more), download and make yout own bootable Amiga flash disk!

Run AmiKit anywhere and enjoy its special "Rabbit Hole" feature which enables you to run Linux apps from AmiKit desktop!

This version was originally released on a branded solid metal bootable USB flash drive for the Amiga 30th birthday party in Neuss, Germany:

Since this limited collector's item was sold out very quickly, we decided to release this special Amiga 30th Years Edition as a digital download.

WHAT IS PORTABLE AMIKIT?

Portable AmiKit MK2 contains a very smallweight "live boot" environemnt called AmiPUP, which is based on Slacko Puppy Linux distro (doesn't boot on Mac, though). It is visualy modified to look like AmiKit and it contains WinUAE emulator with AmiKit files pre-installed (you still need OS files, though). At boot, AmiPUP loads EVERYTHING into RAM, so all applications load blazing fast! The host system is never touched!

SPECIAL AMIGA 30 YEARS EDITION

This new 16GB edition of the bootable Flash Disk now uses the WinUAE emulator running on Linux/Wine.
This concept, paradoxly, is much more stable and actually faster than previous E-UAE edition.

The special AmiKit 8.5.1 on the Flash Disk now includes a feature called "Rabbit Hole" which enables you to launch Windows and Linux apps as well as open Amiga document files with them - all this from AmiKit!
For example, right-click on AmiKit desktop and select "Welcome to AmiKit" to see what we're talking about.

This special portable edition was released for the Amiga 30th birthday party in Neuss, Germany.

@elchucko

Hi and welcome to AmiKit.

When the AmiKit is run for the first time, it asks for AmigaOS files which need to be imported to AmiKit first. The most easy solution is to buy Amiga Forever (www.amigaforever.com) as it contains all the files you need (AmigaOS & ROM).

If you need further assistance, feel free to ask at http://forum.amiga.sk

@Chris

Yes, I have all the permissions. The thing is I didn't add authors names to the list. I would like to have them now but I don't have time to do that. That's why I ask for help.

Btw. thanks for your contribution!

We've updated several components in this 8.4 release.

MUI4 got new pointers - hover your mouse over a link or column separator to see what we are talking about. A number of custom classes have been updated to the latest versions too.

WHDLoad, the ultimate game loader, is now able to update itself! From now on, your old games will always get a fresh support :)

System libraries like OpenURL, CodeSet and IconLib have been updated too.

And last, but not least, we've improved Polish and Russian language support in AmiKit. There are more catalogs and better fonts now. Enjoy!

Greetings and thanks to Mikhail Malyshev, Bernd Roesch and Artur Jarosik.

@utri007

Hide it using "AmiKit:Prefs/Screenmode AmiKit" (select screenmode and then choose hidden taskbar). Or remove AmiStart from WBStartup completely.

@Kicko

It's very easy to setup AmiKit, especially on Windows. All you need is OS&ROM and installer takes care of the rest.

Btw. I talked to Darius recently, he's willing to resume AmiStart development! Drop him an email to increase his motivation :)
