Re: AmigaOS 3.1 getting update from Hyperion
Quite a regular
Quite a regular

@ferrels

Please help me out with your last post.

The only thing that I understand to be correct about Hyperion
is the promise of a SMP version of AmigaOS and Gallium 3D .
http://blog.hyperion-entertainment.biz/?s=SMP
http://blog.hyperion-entertainment.biz/?cat=18

Do you have any links or references to
the promise of a web browser and office suite ?

My understanding is that drivers for certain onboard stuff like sound and Ethernet is now the responsibility of the manufacturing company of the particular AmigaOS 4.x supported motherboard.
This since the Sam460ex on board Audio .
http://www.acube-systems.biz/index.php?page=news&id=88
http://www.amigans.net/modules/xforum ... um=3&topic_id=4802&order=

The X1000 onboad audio is supported .Since 2013 apparently .
http://blog.hyperion-entertainment.biz/?s=audio

The Tabor NIC and Audio would be the responsibility of A-Eon to get working.
They may use someone who also is a Hyperion Dev in some cases to do the driver.
http://forum.hyperion-entertainment.b ... 33&t=3847&start=10#p42550

The onboard SATA drivers for X5000 and Tabor also seem to fit in to this area.
http://forum.hyperion-entertainment.b ... ic.php?f=57&t=3617#p39937

The Tabor FPU support was always 3 pronged.
(1)Native FPU compiled or recompiled programs
(2)An initial basic trapping mechanism
(3)A turbo emulation mechanism

There have been public or video options demonstrations of options #1 and #2 while #3 is being worked on .

PCIex1 Envy24ht sound cards like those used in the Sam460ex/Cr seem to be the most reliable.
Outside of that it can be hit or miss.
RTL PCI 8139 or PCIex1 8168 Ethernet cards.
RTL PCI 8169 Ethernet cards works to but has issues under Linux with more than 3GB of Ram.
See thread below re what users have got to work and what does not work

Another thread about sound card problems that is worth a read.

So your issue may not be the video card at all ?

@xenic

For the X5000 Select the "Boot Options Menu" .
Then "Boot From Mass Storage" from the next menu options .

As the X5000 Bootloader code is on the Uboot MicroSD card You can make an Emergency Boot USB Stick for the X5000 by simply doing a raw copy of the X5000 CD .iso image to a usb stick .

@JosDuchIt

I also experienced the Sam460ex keyboard problems in Uboot with the newer Uboot . This was with an A-Eon AmigaOne keyboard.Switched to a Microsoft model linked to by jabirulo
and no more problems.

@JosDuchIt

You should be able to do a copy sys:#? all clone to the USB drive and it should only take minutes if you are using a SFS/00 partition on the USB device .

@JosDuchIt

What ports on the SIL 3512 PCI SATA card are you using for each device ?

I am using port 0 (Top port) for the hard drive
and port 1 (Bottom port) either for a DVD drive or ESATA connection .

I have the latest available Uboot from Acube .

@JosDuchIt

You might want to test the drive with the onboard SATA.

You need to set the configuration to SATA 2 if it is not set.
See the Sam460ex user manual page 8
http://www.acube-systems.biz/download ... ex_EndUserManual_v1.3.pdf

also you need to set your Boot Device 1 or Boot Device 3 to 460 SATA2 HD

@JosDuchIt

Your USB stick should be 2GB or less in size.

For what you are trying to do
Your OS MultiBoot Options should look like this :

Boot Device 1 :USB HD
Boot Device 2 :3x12 SATA DVD
Boot Device 3 :3x12 SATA HD

This is the sorted output of the nvgetvar command on My Sam460ex :

Glad that I could help.

It is too bad that the sound card issues were not caught during the X5000 beta testing.

@xenic

It is the bridge chip on the PCIex1 CMI8738 versions.
The PCI versions do not have the bridge chip.
But there still seems to be problems with some PCI versions as well.My PCI version works under AmigaOS 4.1 but has problems under Linux.

@xenic

It could be related to your sound card.
See the following thread

and my last post in that thread

Inside the user manuals.A Serial null modem cable connected to another computer is very useful fro identifying problems with ram or the graphics card.
