Well .. the problem is that someone posted a link to what was supposed to be a test version. A version to test the engine. So right now i am working on a version that is more workable on amiga. So if that is available i think it would be more practical to bring reports.

Well i would like some feedback on how people think the interface should work, as most of the work was done on the "engine" lately.

Testing the engine and the GUI is actually not possible with, at least, a real amiga with 68k and 1260

You know allready a bout this facts with my answers during this thread.

The next version more workable on amiga will be interesting for testing in the futur. Keep us the good work and don't hesitate to inform us when the new more workable amiga version will be available soon

Thanks for developping for the amiga

@Cmdr_data

Thanks for answering. Some users would like to show you interest for merlin and It's verry great because thats give you a goal for developping more merlin also for the amiga platform

BTW, I think, as you have stated before on this thread to not do lots of reports, I will stop to report and let you programmed merlin more

At least, you have some feedback about what look like and work the GUI on 68k amigas and also great you have your a4000 for testing....

You convert all gfx to iff before rendering the page (seemed to see that on the grabs on the site) ???

Instead, try to use the datatypes available for rendering the gfx (even if the best is to use internal rendering GFX like Ibrowse) but not transforming them to IFF.

@walkero

OWB 68k V1.4 need 3 special fonts to run, the good SDL.library and ixemul library. read the readme for more informations.

Just found V1.5 on OWB site....

NOTE:

- V1.4 work fine.
- V1.5 failed to load picasso96API.library v2.

In fact, the last line in snoopdos with OWB V1.5 is utility.library loaded OK and stop here. OWB V1.4 load after Picasso96API.library fine untill OWB 1.4 run fine.

Someone use fine OWB V1.5 68K ????

BTW, OWB PPC last version is verry great !!

@Cmdr_data

Yes, I'm using a 16 bits WB and without the screenp96.cfg, I can't try with merlin on his own 24 bit P96 screen.

Test with the file:

- opened fine with 24 bits and colors OK. just url line and horizontal gadget under are only black.

- no hits but allways 80% CPU used. Fast decreased bite per bite ???

that mean just wait long time before possibility to click one of the link on the link page.

- Thinking maybe internet connection not work because not seen test on my internet vuemeter on the classic. Maybe another files are missing on the archive to have amiga version running ??????????????

Just for informations.....

@Cmdr_data

Thanks a lot for being here, for your first post you code a browser, thats verry impressive !!!!

On AOS3.x, the colors aren't good because maybe no magicWB used on merlin browser.

Please introduce yourself on this site, if possible, thats will be great also to know you and what you have planned to do with the amiga (as a programmer).

@K-L

I'm for all developments and for all amiga and morphOS platforms, you know. I like a lot and particularly programmers who made cross compilation like JAHC (wookiechat and sabreMSN), for example.

This is the first archive (browser21.zip) with AOS 3.x, AOS 4.x, MAC and WIN32 exe !!!! Just miss the AROS version but I think It's the first time

Re: OS4 TV software

@Spirantho

Seemed to exist 2 design of the cards, see the end of the post here:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/237982

I'm using both the `old' Terratec Cinergy HT PCI produced Q1/2007 (based on SAA713x) and this newer one of Q1/2009 (based on XC3028).

Hum... not seen first on the post the MKII point.

I just have a problem with my tv-card:
Terratec Cinergy HT PCI MKII

lspci:
05:02.0 Multimedia video controller: Conexant CX23880/1/2/3 PCI Video and Audio Decoder (rev 05)
05:02.1 Multimedia controller: Conexant CX23880/1/2/3 PCI Video and Audio Decoder [Audio Port] (rev 05)
05:02.2 Multimedia controller: Conexant CX23880/1/2/3 PCI Video and Audio Decoder [MPEG Port] (rev 05)

BTW, Spirantho some deep and personnal questions:

- What have you planned with playing with TV cards for aos4.x (Possibilities are: analogic and DVB-T software, FM receiver program, IRD controler and even capture input with COMP and SVGA,... ???

- Have you got the skill about TV cards software and drivers and free time for working on TV cards drivers (remember that I have just a SAM) ???

- Do you have planned to support next DVB-T HD or other chipsets in the futur (based on the availability of the technical documents).

NOTE: you could explore some of the links I have posted before. Maybe the linux forums coul give you technical explanations on how work the differents chipsets....

On my side, I will maybe baught a TV card and try to help you (I'm not a TV fan but like testing things for the amiga and actually seen what exist actually. Not easy with the chipset informations BTW ...

IMHO hybrid TV cards are the last PCI one for the amiga and allready most of them are PCI-E.

This card seemed to be a good candidate btw I'm not sure the chipset used but have good features and low profile.

The last word if really suitable is for Spirantho (because I'm new on this domain)

This card is available on numerous internet shop in france and also on amazon.

@all

1. Low profile TV cards exist.
2. With the chipset needed for amiTV, thats become verry hard to found. Failed untill now...
3. The final point is an interesting TV card one because soon DVB-T only on lots of countries.

I don't know if Spirantho have planned to support other chipset (one on low profile PCI TV cards of course).

the first problem is to found Cx2388x cards low profile for SAM with small and silent small case like mine (mapower KC or Red One).

In general fact, SAM users are verry proud to have small and silent case but just let the possibility to have small PCI low profile inside...

Re: OS4 TV software

@Spirantho

this kind of low profile (small vertically size) PCI card maybe work on SAM on little vertically size case like RedOne. Hauppauge wintv nova T500.

http://www.svmlemag.fr/tests/0817/hauppauge_wintv_nova_t_500

(french link for the picture). NOTE: no chance, DiBcom DB3000-P chipset based.

I don't think, @Spirantho, you have planned to support input/output camrecorder, webcam,.... features on sofisticated TV cards that mean maybe this kind of Tv cards with just an antenna output is sufficient.

This format could be used on all amigaNG, maybe even SAM-NG amigas on small case.

The HVR1300 is too big for a SAM on small case. For sure, this kind of TV card must be fitted well on normal case for Aone,.....

I don't understand you not found one or two betatesters for your software. Amiga users with a TV card should exist and by verry chance with the required chipset.... ??? (Have just post a news on a french amiga news site).

@voodoo

the PCTV card work great on the classic. allow me to redirect the PAL screen to TV software on the 1200 for playing PAL games with WHDload. Just the comp from the 1200 isn't top quality

@Spirantho

Yes, you are right, a bundle with your software and a PCI TV card for all amiga-NG will be perfect. Maybe a dealer could make something, amigakit ???

Have searching on an internet computer site about TV cards and more and more become PCI-E and verry hard (but possible to found PCI card of course) to found low profile PCI TV cards and at the end not sure, if using your required chipset.

BTW, the pinnacle PCTV TV card I have is too big for the SAM (need low profile PCI TV card).

About the idea: just the SAM since a few weeks and not known before your program. I'm using a classic untill now

Too bad there are no list with TV card based of Bt8x8 or Cx2388x chipset-based card somewhere.....

@Spirantho

have just found my pinnacle PCTV card but too high vertically for my small SAM on Mapower case.

Maybe the first step is to found model of TV cards that work with your software and one enough small to be use on mini tower case like the RED One. Thats could interest amiga resellers IMHO.

Maybe hard to found betatesters for your software because just the idea to have a TV card on an amiga-NG is so new (I have a SAM since a few weeks only) ???

Hum... small PCI TV card exist for a SAM amiga on RED ONE case ???

If not the case, hope you will found someone for testing on AONE/PEGASOS...

Re: OS4 TV software

hello,

Elbox arrive to support a lots of number of TV cards with a TV.library (10ko) and a header located on env/mediator) and a third party TV program (superTV or TVR).

there are surely some common ressources or things to know to use lots of differents TV card models succesfully at least on classic /mediator/aos3.x/elbox software.

I'm wondering to see a TV card working on my mediator -hum...AOS4.1) but I think the PCTV PCI card I have (temic 4046FM5) on my classic not work because not the good Voltage ??

List a TV supported by elbox are on the elbox site...

NOTE:

BT848-849-878-879: finally like all cards supported by elbox.

NOTE2:

Why not asking help from TV software authors for mediator like superTV 1.0 or TVR 3.0. Maybe they could provide to you their source code (SuperTV) or support your aos4 library (TVR - because allways developped).
