I get different behaviour between: 1 - Choosing Shutdown->Restart Computer vs 2 - Cntrl+LAmiga+RAmiga. 1 works okay, but 2 will just restart with a black screen and no output. Here is the relevant part of the serial log with debuglevel 20 (no debug kernel):

Invoking a standalone BAT file from the command line (SOLVED)

@cyngusEd , @all I expected the behaviour to not be any different from clicking my AmiDock icon that points to the standalone bat file. But, when I do something like:
alias jemacs progs:ami/soft/jasspa/mew_standalone.bat
and run:
jemacs
The initial small window pops up asking me if I want to save the options. If I save the options in the current directory, they no longer pop up, but if I switch directories then they pop up. Do I need to make a wrapper script to invoke the standalone bat file in the context of the directory containing the standalone bat? Ideally, I would just create an alias and just run the script. Regards,

From cold boot: amiga splashscreen 4.1 went to black screen and the computer froze (left side) From cold boot: successful boot on a previous day As usual, hard reset (pressing the reset switch) results in a successful boot. This is starting to happen way too frequently now. Can someone help? Is this something to do with the sound card!?

@graff
Yeah, I was using Term4.8 on my classic machine incorrectly. I was not copying the entire buffer.
I will come back to this thread once I have a full log of 2 things: 1 - a successful boot 2 - a non-successful or freezing splashscreen boot.
I think you are right. This USB thing is probably not the issue.

Infamous Black Amiga Os 4.1 Splash Screen Freeze

EDIT: Update, this is a red herring: see comment #5.=== I have caught the serial log for the following two situations: 1 - When the X5000 boots successfully (the majority of the time - 4/5 times) 2 - When the X5000 does not boot by freezing on the black Amiga OS 4.1 splashscreen. In order to rectify 2, I issue a hard reset. This situation can happen from cold or warm reboots, but these logs are from cold boots. Working boot on the left and the not-working boot (freeze) on the right. The text to the right (in green) that goes off the end of the screen says: Quote: [USB] WARNING | "hub.usbfd" | "HUB" | Device did not attach after 10ms reset recovery (error -19). Retrying attachment on port 1 of hub "Front Roo thub (ehci.usbhcd/1)" (ifc 0x6EDF3180)
Can someone please offer some advice. It seems like an issue with USB, but why is this happening? The computer does not budge an inch and sometimes this happens, and sometimes it does not. It seems like it is the hub port? But, I am unsure why this has happened only recently and inconsistenly! Thank you.

I had this issue on my X1000 when I first got it. It was fixed after a clean I installation using an ssd card. I never figured out the issue.
I have also witnessed it on my X5000. Very occasionally, the black AmigaOS 4.1 just hangs and I have to issue a reset. I never get it stuck in a loop.
RX 560.
In anycase, I am now recording the serial logs from now on waiting for a reproduction. When I reproduce it, I will see what the difference is.
This may not be exactly your issue, but there is an intersection I guess.

Woah, well this is weird. But, at least one other person can reproduce it.
Will have to do some more testing to see if I can conclusively create a list of steps to reproduce the issue from power on of the Amiga.
I guess I can also cross compile the latest from kas1e github and add in some printf debugging....

The X1000 configuration has never changed in months and it used to work before, so perhaps it is another YouTube change?

Just realised that I am having an issue trying to play videos in Odyssey in YouTube.
I always spoof as IPad 6.1, when I travel to YouTube it is in the m.youtube.com form.
I notice that when I click the SEARCH button at the top right I get a pop up message that says:
newlib.library error exit() of process 143 called from wrong process 187, using IExec->RemTask(NULL)
Process: "[OWB] MediaPlayer".
I have OWB 1.23 r5 with the youtube HTML5/Fullscreen scripts installed.
I noticed the same thing even after a fresh install of OWB.
===
This also happens even if I just load up youtube and click on a video without clicking the SEARCH button.

Partially SOLVED: https://www.amigans.net/modules/newbb/ ... hp?topic_id=8826&start=40The work-around is to use AmigaInputAnyware (AIA), now renamed to AmigaInputAnywhere. The issue regarding not being able to change buttons within the emulators themselves... I am assuming that is just the way it is. Well, with WarpSNES you can change the keyboard buttons, so I use that, since it integrates with AIA, but with Snes9x there is no option to change anything.

AmiCygnix Copy And Paste Buffers

To all, particularly @cygnusEd.
I am making some updates to an application running in AmiCygnix. I am confused by the copy and paste buffers.
Take LeafPad as an example. I have it open in a fresh AmiCygnix window. Outside of AmiCygnix I can copy and paste some text, let's say from the shell. I can then paste that into LeafPad, fine. But I cannot seem to copy from LeafPad and paste outside of AmiCygnix. Is this expected?
As for my own application, will I need to consider using the clipboard device to handle copy and pasting from outside of AmiCygnix?
Looking for some guidance.
Thank you.

Someone needs to figure out why there seems to be a problem with AmigaInputAnyware. The source code is available. If no one gets around to it, I can look into it.
You should check to see if AmigaInputAnyware is causing the same issue for you though... To be clear, I think AmigaInput works fine, and I can use InputTest_SDL to check that. But, I cannot work out why AmigaInputAnyware is not doing what I want it to do.
If you are also stuck with AmigaInputAnyware not behaving as you expected, then it is a matter of waiting, unless you want to fix it.

Okay, I just uploaded it; http://os4depot.net/share/utility/workbench/inputtest.lhaNot that this solve anything. It is just a way to satisfy yourself that saving AmigaInput setting works. For me, I have my controller plugged in to the USB slot. I ran "InputTest_SDL" in that link above to confirm that my controller was mapped to all the coloured buttons and directions that I saved in AmigaInput. I then wanted to just use one of the two emulators (WarpSNES or SNES9X-OS4). The issue is, even though "SNES9X-OS4" has a tab named: "AmigaInput", it does not offer a way to select the controller. In fact, there seems to be no way to change anything at all. As for WarpSNES: I select the tab named "Controller Setup" . Here, the only thing I can select is "Keyboard". But, in this emulator, I can actually change the keyboard keys. Since it feels to me that both of these emulators cannot seem to interact with my correctly configured controller which has been assigned to Port 0/LowLevel, the only option I have is to use the keyboard. This is why I think "AmigaInputAnyware" is the solution. But, I am confused by that program too. I created a new configuration named "WarpSNES". I purposefully chose the keyboard keys 1,2,3,4 to represent: Up,Down,Left,Right. Then, I chose a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h,i,j,k,l for Button 1, Button 2, Button 3, Button 4, Button 5, Button 6, Button 7, Button 8, Button 9, Button 10, Button 11, Button 12. In AmigaInput I mapped my RED button to Button 1. In AmigaInputAnyware, I mapped Button 1 to "a", but when I press the RED button, I get the value "2". This means that the RED button is being treated as if I pressed DOWN. In fact, my RED, YELLOW and GREEN buttons on the controller as produce 2, 3 and 4 respectively. But, 2, 3 and 4 should be mapped to the directional buttons. It basically means that when I press RED I am also pressing the directional button and so on. So, this confuses me a little bit.
